Introduction

Hey LoL Folks,

i want to revive a certain type of Mordekaiser: A Cooldown Reduction based king of metal. Less and less people play Mordekaiser that way and i simply dont know why, cause this one will rock your world. Stop calling Mordekaiser a tank because he totally lacks the tank specific abilities. For this kind of MK you dont need much hit points because the CDR enables us to use one of our shield-generating spells almost every second.

Runes

The rune choice is rather self explanatory: Magic Penetration, Dodge, CDR and plain ability power. Magic Penetration because we deal damage predominantly via our skills, Dodge because we will always be in the middle of the fight and therefore its nice to avoid being hit once a while and the plain abilty power essences to deal a good amount of damage from the very beginning.

Masteries

The Masteries Tree is a bit trickey but i assure you it works fine. Go with a 9/0/21 build but avoid all the mana related masteries within the utility tree except .

Items

The item sequence might look a little bit odd on the first view but i figured it out in many games and most of the time it worked out fine. At first you start with a and a . This is by all means necessary because our CDR runes will allow us to use our skills more often than usually. Use them wisely or you might damage yourself during the very first minutes. But normally you should be fine to hold or push the lane pretty well. When returning to base the first time (ideally after our fist kill) you be able to buy the at one go. If our budget allows we might add a second or just a few more . Our next goal is to complete asap in order not to worry spamming up our skills from now on. My next item suggestion is . This is most peculiar item in our build because it has Mana Reg which is completly ******** with MK... BUT it is a reliable tank item, gives us CDR, Life Reg and a decent speed burst. is a low budget item perfectly fitting into our build. I leave it up to you whether you focus on or . Both consist of and even buying it twice and decide later is not really a mistake. In games that last at least an hour and you have finished your build a while ago and have earned quite a buck load of money i usally trade at first. But alternatives to our core build will be discussed later. Now we have finished our plain CDR build and with the masteries and runes we'll reach a CDR rate of 39,85% (close to perfection... ^^). From now on we spam the hell out of our skills and take down champion after champion. So we should focus to add more damage to our skills. First option is : AP, AD (if we accidentially hit an enemy with auto attack ;) ), life steal, spell vamp and our first like active ability. With all the HP regeneration, spell vamp and life steal its nearly impossible to get you down anymore even when focused in a team battle. My last item usually is because it gives as a good amount of AP and its active provides another slow.

Optional items are:

Against heavy phyical teams: or

Against heavy magical teams:

Possible trade items are:

for (more AP and Magic Penetration

for (more AP and Magic Penetration)

Skill Sequence

The skill sequence i provided above is my most common one, but there are situations where you need to adjust it. Since you go team laning most of the times this sequence should suffice to build andkeep up your shield. But in case you face two ranged opponents it might be wise to push and cast it on your minions in order to keep the distance and build up your shield.

Summoner Spells

Usually i take and because you can use them both offensively and defensively.

Spells i do NOT recommend:

: Since we have two items with a slow ability this becomes obsolete.

: We use our ulti as a last hit spell to kill an enemy.
