Karthus the deathsinger. If played right Krathus can be one of the best Champs in the game. In this Review/guide to Karthus, I will teach you how to bring out the best of him.

OK. The runes I have set are probably not the exact ones that you choose, but they should be something like it. Mine are mana regeneration and ability power. Karthus's powers are very good, but a whole lot better when you are stacked with ability power. You should always go with AP and mana regen when rollin' with Karthus

My masteries. Just like my glyphs I go with mostly AP, mana, mana regen and others that help my summoner spells. They will have the same impact as the glyphs. Personally I think that AP is the way to go with a lot of champs, but I especially like it for Karthus because of all the extra damage it gives to all your powers.

WHAT DO YOU THINK I'M GONNA CHOOSE FOR MY ITEMS??? AP of course. You could probably see that coming. I don't really want to explain again why I chose those but here it goes; Karthus's items change the game completely. Without the right build, you are destined to go 0/10 ect. For this build there are some acceptable substitutes. You can use Berzerker's Greaves instead of Sorcerer's Shoes, and Archangel's staff instead of Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Rabadon's Deathcap.

My skill sequence has solid but common start. It starts with Lay Waste, Defile, then Lay Waste again, instead of Wall of Pain. I do this because you need to first farm minions and get enough gold for chalice of harmony. You should hold off on attacking enemy champs and just farm minions. Wall of pain is useless for farming. Once you get chalice of harmony, and reach level four, then get Wall of pain, but don't go chasing after enemy champs. Keep farming and only use Wall of Pain if you are getting ganked, attacked or just in a tricky situation. When you reach level 6 and recieve your ultimate, now is the time to get MANY kills. Activate Defile and teleport to an enemy champ that is battling a tank of yours, and start using lay waste on them. When they start to run use exhaust then block them with wall of pain and attack. If they get away simply just walk back and ult him. BOOM, hes dead.

The summoner spells I use are Ghost and teleport. Teleport is a must have with Karthus. Appearing in battles may get you most of your kills, even if they are kill steals. Exhaust, though, is even more important than teleport. Exhaust and wall of pain is the perfect combo. Run in and cast exhaust then wall of pain. Follow up with defile for the kill.

Karthus the Deathsinger. An AP champ that if played right will be the best champ on the map. You can dominate with him, but if you do not do well with him, that is OK don't be discouraged. He is a very hard champ to play, but when you master him, it all pays off
