Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This is the first guide i ever made. I realize that there are many ways to use Kayle, but this is the way it worked for me and i want to share it.
Masteries are 14/0/16 because of none of the last masteries you can pick is good enough to decide for offense or utility, so i decided to focus on mana regeneration (because kayle really need mana) and the 15% magic penetration which is really useful for Reckoning . Also i take Burning Embers because extra AP it's always nice. Also Alacrity and Sorcery are nice masteries for Kayle, because cooldown reduction is nice for and Attack Speed is nice for dealing a nice amount damage in a few seconds. In utility, i picked up also Awareness because if you level quicker than your enemies is a nice advantage.
I choose that runes because Kayle's passive skill is really useful, so i improved it with AD marks and AP glyphs . I choosed Mana regen for Seals because Kayle really needs it. And Quintessences are most at your choice. Any combination of mana regen Greater Quintessence of Replenishment and health is great.
When you get enough gold, buy . If you return earlier than having all the gold, start for and then Guinsoo's. This item is really good for Kayle, because it gives you a great farming skill.
Then you have two choices. If things are going good you can consider buying sooner than . It depends in how important do you think that Movement Speed is in that moment. If the enemys can't run from you, maybe Zeal it's not very important, but is useful, so consider it.
Madred's Bloodrazor it's useful for most of the games because there's always one tank but if most of the enemys has not much HP you can consider make first because it gives you extra AP for healing and damage, cooldown reduction for using more often and mana regen which helps a lot.
Nice items for late game Kayle are and / . Phantom Dancer improves your attack speed, critical and movement speed, so is always great for a DPS. Bloodthirster because you can stack AD, which will increase also your AP and with your Attack Speed will give you a nice healing in fights. Hextech Gunblade because it gives you more AD and AP and life steal and spell vamp, which results on a nice life recovery because you do half of the total damage as magical damage and the other half is physical, and also has a nice active will make you can chase an enemy.
For being a hybrid DPS you don't have to be afraid from because that item only reflects an % from your physical damage, which is only the half of your damage, so it would do not much damage to you and if you have The Bloodthirster or Hextech Gunblade, you will still recovering life.
You can also consider selling Boots for buy another Phantom Dancer
At level 1 get because is one of the most powerful skills at lvl 1 and makes you to farm better. At level 2 get because you will need it at some point, because if they try to harass you, you can heal yourself and for a kill they will improve your movement speed. After that you have to master if you think you can play aggresive (Because at lvl 5/6, lvl 3 Reckoning do a nice amount of damage and you can use it for harass, and also slows the enemy, which means you will do more damage with . But, if you have to play defensive is better you improve both and because lvl 1 Divine Blessing doesn't help you nothing, because is not a nice heal. At lvls 6/11/16 you have to give a point to because it's an overpowered skill: You can save an ally, kill under tower, kill an enemy who thinks he can kill you, stop life stealing from any life stealing DPS...
This is the skill priority:
With Kayle's Passive and runes, Kayle has a nice amount of damage with Righteous Fury so your early game has to be more offensive than defensive. Whenever you can hit them, do it, but be careful of receiving damage from minions or from enemys because Kayle don't has much mana and you can't spam , so you must keep all mana you can, because if you can harass them, eventually you can use ++ + to get a kill. You can consider doing that under a tower if you have and using Flash and Divine Blessing to run away.
If you get Madred's Bloodrazor or/and Phantom Dancer you would not have problems to kill people, but Kayle don't have much Armor so basically don't get focused, but if it's necessary you can use to save yourself or carry during 3s. That's especially useful in battles with Life Steal characters, like Warwick or Olaf, because they can't hit you and they can't heal themselves.
Also you should healing your teammates and saving them with Intervention.
The battle strategy doesn't change from mid to late, but in late, if you have The Bloodthirster or and a you can go a little more alone to kill dragon and auras, because if they gank you, with Life Steal and Spell Vamp you can carry more than Mid Game and you have more Movement Speed so it's harder to chase you. It's important you think in backdooring because Kayle breaks towers really fast. Also is important if you have to play defensive, at late game, Kayle is one of the better farmers, so kill minions as fast as you can to make them tank the tower if they want to break it.
