Hey, this is my build for Kog'Maw right now, I will keep updating this build to make it better and better. im still trying to find the most perfect build for kog'maw but I think this is the best build I know for Kog'Maw so far but here comes some info about my build.

I recommend you to try this build before you rate it negatively, and also comment for reasons why it was voted down, feedback is welcome too :)!

Information about Kog'Maws stats with no item

Damage 49 (+3 / per level)
Health 520 (+84 / per level)
Mana 295 (+40 / per level)
Move Speed 310
Armor 15 (+3.5 / per level)
Spell Block 30 (+0 / per level)
Health Regen 1 (+0.11 / per level)
Mana Regen 1 (+0.1 / per level)

With the combination of Kog'Maw's spell Caustic Spittle, Last Whisper, and Black Cleaver you will hit very hard and with around 250-350+ attack damage, 2-2.5 attackspeed your damage will be awesome.

I go with Ghost and Flash Because Kog'Maw need escape mechanisms because Kog'Maw is easy to gank in early game and you want to avoid to get ganked, tho you shall not go to far from yout turret if your ghost nor flash is on cooldown.
The reason I go with Ghost and Flash is because it can be used in two ways, one is kinda obvious, for escaping (ofcourse), the other way is to catch up a fleeing enemy and finish him off.


Start with Boots of Speed and one health potion. Next you get Berserker greaves.

Now you get into the bigger items. go for either last Whisper or The Black Cleaver, you want to get them both before getting anything else , (going back to the base too much is not good, try to stay in lane until you have engough gold for the item that your gonna get). when u've got last whisper and The black cleaver you should go for either Youmuu's Lantern or The Frozen Mallet for better survival, then go for Madred's Bloddrazor if the game aint finished yet (infinity Edge is also good but costs alot, if you are very feeded and can aford it you can get it)

Class Spells

Icathian Surprise - Upon dying, Kog'Maw starts a chain reaction in his body which causes him to move faster and detonate after 4 seconds; dealing 100 + (25 x lvl) true damage to surrounding enemies.

This Passive Ability allows you to kill the enemy/(anyone with low hp that is near you will die then you explode) who killed you if he got less hp. It is like a revenge.

Caustic Spittle - Passive: Increases Kog'Maw's attack speed. Active: Kog'Maw launches a corrosive projectile which deals magic damage and corrodes the target's armor for 4 seconds.
Passive: Increases Attack Speed by 10/15/20/25/30%.

Active: Kog'Maw launches a corrosive projectile which deals 60/110/160/210/260 (+0.7) magic damage and reduces the target's armor by 5/10/15/20/25.
60/60/60/60/60 Mana

As I mentioned if you scroll up, Caustic Spittle with Last Whisper, and Black Cleaver is pawnage, your enemys armor will be = 0 if the enemy aint tank with really much armor.

Bio-Arcane Barrage - Kog'Maw's attacks gain range and deal a percent of the target's maximum health as magic damage.
Kog'Maw's attacks gain 130/160/190/220/250 range and deal an additional 2/3/4/5/6% (+0.01)% of the target's maximum Health as Magic Damage (Max: 100 Damage vs Monsters). Lasts 6 seconds.
50/50/50/50/50 Mana

Really good range, this ability sometimes help you to finish off a player. This spell with Caustic Spittle gives amazing damage with the items I show in my this build.

Void Ooze - Kog'Maw launches a peculiar ooze which damages all enemies it passes through and leaves a trail which slows enemies who stand on it.
Kog'Maw launches ooze which deals 60/110/160/210/260 (+0.7) magic damage to enemies it passes through.

Additionally, it leaves a trail which slows enemies by 28/36/44/52/60% for 4 seconds.
80/90/100/110/120 Mana

Having your enemies slowed along with your increased range allows you to stand still and attack with no movement in between for a few seconds while your enemy is trying to flee.

Living Artillery - Kog'Maw fires a living artillery shell at a great distance dealing damage and revealing targets. Additionally, multiple Living Artilleries in a short period of time cause them to cost additional mana.
Kog'Maw fires artillery from a great distance. After a short delay, the artillery falls dealing 80/120/160 (+0.3) magic damage and reveals targets for 4 seconds (deals 150% bonus damage to Champions).

Each subsequent Living Artillery in the next 6 seconds costs 40/40/40 additional mana (Max 200).
40/40/40 Mana

This is a great ability for killing fleeing enemy who have managed to escape you, revealing potentially trapped bushes and farming minions when you need a bit more area damage. Do not use this as your main source of damage, it is good harassment, but it comes at a high cost if you are spamming it too much.


I go with AttackSpeed Glyphs, Quintessence and Seals for faster attacks = more damage and I went with Armor Penetration on Marks to get some more Armor Penetration.


I play Offensive so I choosed a build with 21/0/9 to get some extra damage and crit , who knows, the runes + the masteries might be the reason you killed someone who might have escaped with low hp if you wouldnt have choosed this runes and this masteries ;)!


Kog'Maw is good both in the middle and on the side lanes, Kog'Maw can be combinated good with many Summoners but Pairing up with a summoner who have slows or stuns is a lot of fun and generally allowing some very early game kills.
With your incredible large range and slowing effect and your partner's hopefully not too bad damage you should be able to bring down anyone in a matter of seconds.

I play Kog'Maw very offensively, It is very effective to combine your Void Ooze with your Bio-Arcane Barrage. Your enemies will most likely stand there and hit you for a moment before they realize that they cant actually outdamage you and your partne, at that point they will probably try to escape, If you cant slow him you can use flash or ghost and with the incredible range your ultimate have he got no chance so survive. Even with Ghost and Flash Kog'Maw can be very squishy in early game. If you by some reason die early in the game, you can buy a Elixir of Fortitude to get som heatlh and Attackdamage to avoid to feed more,(its not a must ofc).
If you Die, be quick and try to follow your enemy to kill him with your Passive attack (Upon death your character becomes invulnerable for four seconds and after those four seconds you explode and deal 100+(25*Lvl) damage to nearby enemies (both creeps and champions).

Now that you are level six with some good attack speed you should be able to harass very well with your ultimate, Living Artillery. Make sure that you do not use all of your mana too fast because when you have your enemy at half health you will want to Bio-Arcane Barrage and Void Ooze them into a pulp and nuke him with caustic spittle. This is the major set-back of this build on Kog'Maw is his early game mana consumption. Getting the golem buff will give you enough mana regeneration to spam your Living Artillery all day.

As you approach level 8-13 you will probably start grouping with your team and pushing lanes as a group of 3-5 (in 5on5 games ofc). Your job is mostly to stand back, slow, and NUKE tanks (or dps/healer if there arent any tanks there).

after 30-40 Min. in the game you will probably be grouped up with at least 3 of your teammates which will hopefully give you some buffs and allow you to stand still and nuke players ***es off. Use your Living Artillery to check bushes and kill for example a enemy with low hp who is trying to flee and to deal damage before fights start. When fights do breakout go for the highest health players in order to demoralize their team. Frozen Mallet will serve you very well later in the game when almost everyone has their item sets maxed out and you need just a little more health to stay alive, and another slow good effect.

Keep in your mind that many people underestimate the range on your Bio-Arcane Barrage so you can rush in, void ooze,Caustic Spittle and pop it to decimate their health. they will Rarely have the time to run away and survive.

Monster Buff
Around lvl 6-9 you should start jungle abit and kill the neatral monster to get the buffs.


Kog'Maw can outrange most champions with his Bio-Arcane Barrage ability.
Use Void Ooze to set up a perfect Living artillery.
Make the most out of your Icathian Surprise.
