Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Well first off Malphite is one of the most flexible characters in the game. Depending how the other team looks you can switch out some of the items in this build. I obviously made him into a tank, but don't be fooled he can still do some heavy damage. Also not a lot of ppl use him anymore so you could have the surprise advantage on your side haha.
You want to lane up with a good harass or a good support. A good harass character can help you sit back and regenerate your passive or a good support character like soraka can help you keep your mana up so then you can harass with seismic shard. You really do need clarity early game, because malphite is a bit mana deficient. Shard is one of the best harass moves it has long range does lots of dmg once you lvl it up and can slow the target down. Once you hit lvl 6 you should have the aegis and ninja tabi, however if its a heavy magic team go merc treads. Also at lvl 6 you can kill some one with your partner. If one of the enemy champs wander too far past the bushes activate your brutal strike, ulti them, throw a shard to slow them, then do ground slam for extra damage. This should probably kill them with the other dmg your lane partner does, if it doesn't you can just easily finish the enemy with ignite. However do not get to carried away it's not really malphites time to shine yet. Even though he is tough don't go kamikaze into a torrent unless you know you can kill them and get away alive. On a side note be careful when you are trying to take down the torrent your brutal strike's passive does a lil bit of splash dmg, so if you think atking the torrent while the enemy champ is standing there is good be careful cuz if the splash dmg hits the enemy champ the torrent will target you.
Alright by now you should have gotten your lane torrent down, If you notice you're dying alot or always close to dying go for guardian angel, if the other team cant touch you go frozen mallet. It's really up to you. Once you finish taking the lane torrent down you can start to gank or be the key person in group fights. Your ulti will always be the main initiator before you go in make sure you activate brutal strike and have your passive up. If you are going for a gank activate brutal strike then ulti, and when they try to run use a shard and ignite them, that should easily finish the enemy champ off. In a group fight activate brutal trike then ulti, then use ground slam, the affect of reducing atk speed is a great advantage in a group fight, this makes champs such as yi twitch and teemo less effective. Thus having easier team fights. At lvl 15 you should have your guardian angel and frozen mallet, if not and you are just getting disabled a lot or the casters are doing too much dmg to you skip frozen mallet and go for banshee veil.
Alright this is where you can just go around and no one can touch you. As the title says you're rock solid! By now you should have all the items, (if its a heavy caster team switch thornmail with force of nature). Your end game is pretty much like your mid game you will have to initiate the fights and rush in don't be afraid. If you have your whole team behind you you can even use your ulti near torrents and still win the team fights. (However it is better off to make sure your angel is up before you do so just in case.)By end game you should be able to tank down torrents win team fights and carry your team to a nice victory on the screen!
