Hello, I had some free ip and thought i would buy then newest hero, Maokai the twisted treant. I could not wait to play. Maokai was all that i thought he would be. The first game i played with him i went 14-6-20. He is my favorite hero now. As i started with a build i began to tweak it a bit and finally perfected my build. I was doing good before and now i'm doing amazing. I hope this guide is as rewardable as it has been to me.

Pros:
> Very good begining and late game.
> Sapling toss is amazing.
> Not many cons.
> Good finisher.
> People seem to under estimate Maokai and think hes a spell caster early in game so use this to your advantage. Of course this is to less experianced players.

Cons:
> Movement speed not very high early in game.
> Very mana dependant.

I chose tank masteries because without them Maokai can be very squishey early in the game. With tank masteries maokai can deal more dmg due to him being more resilient. Maokai usualy wins all 1v1's.

I chose mostly AP runes because it simply makes maokai stronger and with his saplings at the begining. Saplings are a very important early in game and AP runes are amazing for it. I chose mana runes because maokai throws alot of saplings early in game and runs out of mana.

I chose calrity becuase maokai runs out of mana early in the game and it really helps out. Its good late game also because maokais ult can suck up alot of mana.

When people are near me i use twisted advance. Twisted advance stuns the in place for a little bit so after taht i use arcane smash. I use sapling toss during fights to because its dmg is insane so use it every time its up. I tend to use maelstrom every fight because maokai has good mana preservation. DOnt be afraid to use all ur abilities.

This build has worked very good for me every game i play. IT is very mana efficient and it's survivability / Dmg out put is Very good. PLZ comment give me some suggestions.
