Q-W could theoretically counter the Q poke, if not, zone from creeps with W, keeping your sustain. He'll almost always be in lane, but atleast you can even things up.
Nasus
He can easily be zoned with your W, and if he attempts to all in you, a Q-W combo will do enough to push him away.
Renekton
His gap-closer will make him an open target if he plays aggressively, his stun will be annoying, and do not engage when his ulti is up, last thing, make sure you dont waste a Q.
Garen
His harrass is mainly based on his Q, which gives him movement speed and a steroid attack, suped up with a silence. Run from minions and Q-W when he goes to poke. His sustain is pretty intense, and it doesnt really on anything but time. Plan efficiently.
Lee Sin
Effectively being an Assassin (squishy with high damage if in your face), He can easily be poked down with W and zoned away from farm, just dont let him all in.
Jax
He reallys heavily on his Gap closer- Stun combo, if this can be countered (Q can hit him mid air) then his dueling potential is null as long as he only hits you a few times.
Shen
Shen- Though he has great sustain, he really needs to be in your face to do some real damage in a combo. He can spam his Q, But then again, you can E most of his stuff. Q him when he goes to taunt, and W under him. Thats that. He'll run back and be done until he tries again.
Yorick
Besides Vlad, the Poke King of Top. He will always outpoke you, he has good sustain even early without having to even lay a finger on you. Your Q-W combo will be a NIGHTMARE to pull off, as he will always be behind minions, Did i mention he has a humongous amount of *Spontaneous* AoE.
Gnar
If he's smart, He'll just "Hop" off of you and dodge your Q, and due to your extreme immobility after that, he will simply kite the shit out of you, chunking you with his E.
Darius
He has no general sustain, but that doesnt count Darius out as a weak Top laner. He has extreme tank AND damage scaling, plus his Passive counts as and R steroid AND an Ignite. He'll play carefully until he sees the opportunity to pull you, then simply W-Q and after an auto or two, you either die, or he'll R and NOW you're dead.
Rengar
Beware of the Bushes, He plays heavily on surprise, though is an excellent duelist... something you cant even dream to do. His melee burst is intense and his root/slow will put you in the frontline of a truckload of damage. Early game, he isnt much but annoying, and he can be dealt with by your regular combo, IF he can be hit by it. But if he plays safe and farms, he'll become a monster. Pink ward the top middle bush at 6 for his ulti.
Kha'Zix
Just like his nemesis, The Great Bug has an extreme amount of melee burst and almost mirrors his hunter (THOUGH HE DOES NOT SCALE AS TANKY, HAS NO ROOT OR STUN) He DOES have a castable gap-closer, that requires no immediate conditions to be cast. He also has an invis-ulti. So if youre worried, pink ward the middle top bush.
Irelia
Annoying for all, and pretty much like a melee version of you. Stuns, stuns, stuns. Plus true damage. If she dodges a Q, She'll just charge you, stun you, and youre dead.
Jayce
Jayce is a nightmare. Though he isnt highly mobile, he has a double standard, high base damages, and the ability to poke you down and all in you easily. Not to mention a displacement. His passive will make it easy to catch up to you when running, and an all-in will ruin your life.
Cho'Gath
He's about just as immobile as you are, However, his E silences. Plus, his R scales his tankiness. Try to deny him from going in or else you WILL be killed.
Sion
Your poke wont be worth anything worth a damn to him. Especially with his W scaling. But its still possible.
Kennen
He's pretty mobile and has a grand amount of burst. Be careful with your Q.
Malphite
Though he does have a poke shield, he's slow. He has mana problems early so he isnt a worry until 6, in which he gains an initiate, from there, he's pretty double sided.
I was casually researching champs for new possibilities in lane when i came across the okay scaling of Morgana's health and her incredible base damage scaling on her abilities. Her CC with her R and Q is intense and her W has great zoning potential, Her passive is what takes the cake though. Never been a Morgana main, nor have I played her much, but her passive is what will give the right sustain needed to be a proper top laner, evening up trades and all that. I would say she's somewhat equal to Vlad, but with no escape and depending on a resource, replacing Vlad's aggressive poke strategy with a damage-to-utility kit for team-fights. Morgana is... .to say the least, EXTREMELY immobile, so warding is an absolute necessary, and playing safe early is a good bet too.
The Test
The Test
Please, leave some feedback on the build, if it works for you or not. Its just a theory for now.
Teamfighting
Teamfighting
Its pretty easy to just run in and pop your ulti to lock squishies down for the rollercoaster. A Q follow up or initiate is still a great option aswell.
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
Pros
- Excellent CC for Team-fights.
- Even though immobile, can roam and be a great help in ganking lanes.
- Takes little skill in most situations.
Cons
- Susceptible to Ganking
- No escape (relies on Flash)
- Her main burst source is a slow skill-shot
