Don't get hit with her E or you're dead and don't push lane against her or you're also dead. broken champ JK I'm just trash.

Alistar
I also want you to know that this is probably not the most optimal way to play her but it really synergies with my play style, so it might give some Neeko players a new way of looking at the champion.
I'd like to think of this *Guide* as a Personal Blog which will evolve as new changes come into league and Neeko.
Once I Finish with the guide, I'll start working more on the visuals.
my native language is Spanish so if there's any orthography error that makes this unreadable, please let me know and if I get enough request to make a Spanish guide, I will think about it.
FLASH: So, as you probably know, Flash is pretty much required with every champion, with some exceptions. Flash helps setting up Pop Blossom and her Tangle-Barbs, and also gives her the mobility that she lacks. |
BARRIER: I like to take Barrier over Ignite, because I prioritize staying alive over securing a kill, gives you time to activate your ultimate Pop Blossom against fed enemy champions and surviving ganks so you don't lose early pressure.
|
IGNITE: Taking Ignite gives increased kill pressure in lane and gives Grievous Wounds, but most of the time your are going to build Morellonomicon as second item, so it only helps early game.
|
CLEANSE: Only take Cleanse agains heavy CC comps. some times good positioning isn't enough when facing a Leona or Ashe, as Neeko doesn't have any gap closers in her kit and her Shapesplitter has a high cooldown, you should take Cleanse in situations like this. For the laning face, I only take it in some match ups against heavy cc junglers like Sejuani, Elise or Udyr ,and laners like Ahri, Cassiopeia or Veigar.

I'll start by showing you the official Neeko ability text thingies and explain them with more depth later on. |
Inherent Glamour (Passive):Neeko can disguise herself to appear as an ally champion. Taking damage or casting Blooming Burst or Tangle-Barbs breaks the illusion and puts Inherent Glamour on a cooldown. Neeko can also choose to change back to herself. Well as you can see, this is not the official one but sounds good either way. |
Blooming Burst (Q):Neeko throws a seed into a target area, which blooms after a short delay, dealing magic damage to enemies within. If the burst kills an enemy unit or damages a champion or large monster, it will bloom again after a short delay, dealing magic damage. This cannot happen more than twice. yeah, I give up with the official ability descriptions |
Shapesplitter (W):PASSIVE ABILITY: Neeko every third basic attack deals bonus magic damage and grants her bonus movement speed for 1 second.CAST ABILITY: Neeko becomes invisible for 0.5 seconds, sending a temporary clone of her current form sprinting in a target direction for 3 seconds. Both Neeko and the clone gain bonus movement speed for 2 seconds. |
Tangle-Barbs (E):Neeko slings a magical spiral in a target direction, dealing magic damage and rooting the first 2 enemies hit for 1.5 seconds and 3 seconds for all other enemies hit when maxed. |
Pop Blossom (R):Neeko starts charging herself, channeling for 1.25 seconds. If Neeko is disguised, enemies won't see her channel. Neeko also shields herself, increased for each enemy champion nearby, as she leaps into the air for 0.6 seconds. Upon landing, Neeko bursts with spiritual energy, dealing magic damage and stunning nearby enemies for 1.25 seconds. |
not soยกยกDEEP LOOK AT THE ABILITY ORDER!! |
As Neeko, maxing Q Blooming Burst because it's the most damage, wave clear and the only real poke ability in her kit *Hurray Laning Phase!*
|
|
Maxing Tangle-Barbs over Shapesplitter is the way to go with the glacial build. the reason being is the low AP in the build early with the Corrupting Potion. Tangle-Barbs has way higher Base damage and burst, and is the her only CC ability pre level6 ยก3 second root! The only reason to max Shapesplitter second is if you're going for Nashor's Tooth, which you probably won't.
|
Max Pop Blossom when ever you can. It's Neeko's Best Ability, totally overloaded. Slow, root, 130% AP scaling and high base damage + it gives a huge shield.

sort of
ยกยกDEEP LOOK AT THE ABILITIES!!
So... Passive!- INHERENT GLAMOUR!
- If you activate Pop Blossom while Inherent Glamour is active, Pop Blossom will not be visible to the enemy. Sneaky Sneaky! they won't even know what hit them.
- While disguised as a champion, you gain their base stats, such as basic attack range! so, if you transform into Caitlyn, you gain her attack range, but same thing happens when Neeko transform into a melee champion.
- change into your jungler to mislead the enemy from your jungler's position.
The Damage!-Blossom Burst!
-Does Damage!
-It synergies with Arcane Comet's second passive. Blooming Burst will make Arcane Comet come off Cooldown much faster if you hit multiple explosion. -leaving skins here because it feels empty :) |
The Big Brain Key-Shapesplitter!
-Basically a mix of LeBlanc's passive and Wukong's W, and has much more outplay potential than both of them.
-It's a Big Brain Spell, a legendary ankle breaker with a 3 hit passive, which gives you movement speed. remember roaming with your w passive stacked for maximum impact
-Can be used to tank a 2 tower shots if you want to dive, but there's a 0.5 delay before your clone takes aggro.
-Can be used as a meat shield. blocks everything after 0.5 seconds even high value ultimates like Kled's
Chaaaaaaaarge!!!or Sejuani's Glacial Prison.
-Run straight so the enemy can't differentiate you from your clone. play with their minds.
-Don't face check with Neeko, throw your W Shapesplitter instead to gain vision. don't waste it to check the river in lane, reason being that it has a high cool down and it's your only scape ability.
arguably better Dark Binding-Tangle-Barbs!
-Roots!
-Has no cast time so change into another champion with Inherent Glamour and just throw it out, might hit some one who is not expecting it. -same as Blooming Burst, leaving skins here because it feels empty :) |
Better Absolute Zero-Pop Blossom!
-Don't be afraid to use your ultimate for the shield. It's a great zoning ability,
no one wants to get Popped by Neeko's Pop Blossom.
Glacial Augment:causes your basic attacks to slow enemies up to 40%, making your skillshots hit easily. Glacial Augment also leaves an AoE slow which lasts 5 seconds on the ground when an enemy gets hit by a Slow from an active item. This Rune completely changes Neeko's play style by transforming her in a CC machine and basically every other champion that takes the rune, but wait, there's more!.. well not really, but it's fun and effective. |
|
Magical Footwear VS Perfect Timing:Magical Footwear is the way to go most of the time, unless you need to rush Zhonya's Hourglass against AD assasins or need boots before the 12 minutes mark for specifics matchups like Cassiopeia or Xerath. |
Biscuit Delivery:Neeko has high mana cost on her abilities with the exception of her W, which is free, so every bit of mana helps the laning phase. |
|
Cosmic Insight VS Time Warp Tonic:I Prefer Time Warp Tonic, the reason being is that my starting items of preference is Corrupting Potion and they synergies really good. while Corrupting Potion is active, Neeko gains movement speed, which helps with the run and chase play style of Glacial Augment. but if you want a simple answer Cosmic Insight range and Time Warp Tonic against melee. |
EARLY GAME!!Neeko's early game is really good, do to her high base damage and safe laning phase thanks to her W Shapesplitter. Farm and poke until you get 1400gold for a Lost Chapter, but if you are not having mana problems or fighting lots of 1v1s or 2v2s, go for a Hextech Revolver and a Dark Seal. Hextech Revolver has the same AP as Lost Chapter but sacrifices Mana and car for extra damage and a better build path, giving you the option to build Hextech Rocketbelt if you need the Health and more burst than Everfrost. With Lost Chapter, you can only have the option for Everfrost as first item (I only build Luden's Tempest on mid-long range mages). |
MID GAME!!
Once it hits the 14 minute mark and the turret plating falls of, yo want to start looking for dives or ganks on the side lanes. use Shapesplitter to tank some torret shots max 2 before going for a tower dive. always dive from the back of the torret to block any scape routes. Remember to ask your jungler for help!. You should already have your Everfrost, use it to set-up the dive with ease or to chase any one who tries to escape.
As Neeko, you need total control over vision. buying Oracle Lens and Control Wards is crucial for optimal use of Inherent Glamour, game changing Pop Blossoms and Hilarious Shapesplitter baits. |
Team Fighting and Late Game!!BUT get's out classed by the other mages because of her short range, which makes her team reliant. Usually Arcane Comet and Dark Harvest lose value, reason being is the lack of opportunity to proc them because of your short range, but Glacial Augment helps by giving your team engage and CC, if you have Everfrost or Twin Shadows. Stay with your team and wait for the enemy team to waste their hard cc or mobility, then go for in with Shapesplitter+ Pop Blossom while using Inherent Glamour.
look for aggressive Pop Blossoms while you have your flash available.
|
HEXTECH GLP-800:my favorite item. Same AP as Luden's Tempest but more Base Damage, scaling and utility at the cost of 10% CDR. synergies with Glacial Augment and looks cool on the build ยกWin Win! |
