How is it going guys! My name is Rezone and I'm a Master Tier Midlane main. I peaked at 270 LP Master Tier this Season and have 4.5 Million Mastery Points on Heimerdinger! I upload gameplays, guides, tips and pretty much any other League of Legends related content you could ever ask for!

I was the BEST HEIMERDINGER EUW in Season 7 and I'm best known for inventing the Holy Trinity of Tilt build on Heimerdinger a couple of seasons ago (Banner of Command, ZZ'Rot Portal and Rylai's)! I've also recently competed in TWITCH RIVALS where I played Heimerdinger ADC and came joint first against other streamers such as TFBlade.

I peaked last Season at Diamond 1 and this was due to my aggressive play style! Rushing Liandry's Anguish, multiple Dark Seals, constantly diving...I like to think that i bring my own unique playstyle to Heimerdinger! He's a very fun champion to play, and brings adaptability to his builds - and potentially changing every time you use his ultimate.

I play pretty much hyper aggressive constantly, having Ignite and Flash allows me to get some early kills pre level 6. This in turn gives me an early spike and eventually leads to me getting first blood tower or snowballing the lane. Having Ignite also gives you that extra damage when your spells are on cooldown.

Flash is taken as your primary escape summoner, and is especially valuable on an immobile champion like Heimerdinger. Flash allows you to make clutch escapes, or to get in range for that last auto or ability of a dying enemy.

Teleport in my opinion is only beneficial for pushing sidelines and generally splitting, Heimerdinger lacks severe gank potential due to him needing to set down his turrets in order to do any significant damage.

In certain matchups Exhaust is beneficial to negate burst, eg. Zed and Talon - but having the ability to purchase a Stopwatch quite early allows you to still build Ignite in Season 10.

Electrocute I personally have transitioned to Electrocute from Arcane Comet over the past couple of months. This is due to you being able to proc it easily from Level 1 with your turret autos counting towards the 3 hits needed. The burst is on a long cooldown but end game I feel the damage is more beneficial in team fights over that of Summon Aery or Arcane Comet. (ALSO...There is nothing better than waiting in a bush with Electrocute/ Ignite up and obliterating some poor soul)

Taste of Blood Taste of Blood is very good sustain during laning phase. As Heimerdinger, you want to be continuously poking the enemy, and this will be sustaining you consistently while you do so.

Ghost Poro Ghost Poro is fantastic, not only does it provide you with extra vision when your ward has expired, it also grants you extra AP - as well as a bonus of 10 adaptive force after gaining 10 stacks.

Ravenous Hunter Ravenous Hunter synergizes well with Taste of Blood, healing you for a percentage of damage done by your abilities. Due to poking champions constantly, you should be able to sustain easily in lane without having to buy extra health pots.

Absolute Focus Absolute Focus is fantastic at increasing our damage on Heimerdinger, especially as we want to be throwing our abilities from range - never being in the middle of fray. Hopefully, you should be able to play above 70% HP more often than not.

Gathering Storm Gathering Storm is very good when the game goes to late - the later the game, the more AP you gain, meaning more damage. If you want to close out the game quickly, Scorch is also a viable option.

Arcane Comet is a viable rune for toplane or support. This is due to the nature of the champions you will be against - Fiora, Camille, Tahm Kench, Malphite, Irelia etc...These champions are mostly melee and having Arcane Comet allows you to consistently punish them for trying to get into range! With Heimerdinger having a high range auto attack, there is no reason for you to not have a crazy early game lead/early kills! The only downside is that Arcane Comet falls off drastically in teamfights/late its a risk you take when choosing it. Win early or die late.

In Season 10, the best lane for Heimerdinger is still mid over top. This is due to his old counters losing their extreme burst from the Thunderlord change, and also due to most toplaners being tanky as HELL! Sure, you can go top, but end game - it's going to be more beneficial to have a Fiora, Tahm Kench or Shen in teamfights, than it would be to have potentially 2 AP damage dealers!

When playing him top, its best to take Arcane Comet, this is due to the nature of Heimerdinger having a great range on his auto attacks.

Constantly auto attacking and throwing your abilities at melee champs top = more Arcane Comet procs! ALSO your H-28Q Apex Turret procs Arcane Comet TWICE during the time it is alive.

When playing Heimerdinger mid its best to take the Electrocute rune. This is due to most AP midlaners having a strong range and in turn negating any auto attack gain from Arcane Comet. Landing a grenade during your combos pretty much guarantees an Electrocute proc, and chunking out your opponent.

Heimerdinger lacks the early game burst to be a hyper carry mage/assassin like LeBlanc or Zed. He also lacks the escape potential/tankiness to be a great siege champion like Sion or Yorick! BUT if you build aggressive and play aggressive early, you can really take control of the lane and eventually the game.

The video below gives you a GREAT EXPLANATION of how to do this during a DIAMOND RANKED GAME:

I have always been a fan of playing and building aggressive. Rushing a Luden's Tempest/ Morellonomicon allows you to bully the other laner and most of the time gain some early kills while inadvertently forcing them to build defensively.

Focus on most of your damage coming from your lazer beam procs and not your missiles, a lot of people thing that Heimerdinger's main burst comes from his missiles or poke, but there is nothing better than landing a spicy grenade on a ganking Kha'Zix/ Rengar and 2 hitting them!

Having a Manaflow Band and Doran's Ring allows you to adeptly mana manage. This will take some getting used to! "Especially if you are used to rushing a morellos"

With the rune rework ALL assassins are scary! Priority ban is Zed/ Talon. With Electrocute, they have the ability to literally one hit you once they get Duskblade of Draktharr. Rush a Zhonya's Hourglass/ Stopwatch when dealing with these bois!!

Syndra used to be a hard counter but isn't as bad as she used to be...still though, in the right hands she can be hard to deal with. Arcane Comet is ALWAYS best to keep her at range. Try and get a kill pre level 6 in order to best consolidate your mighty presence in lane!

In the toplane, Tryndamere and Jayce are the hardest matchups right now! Tryndamere will constantly dive and split push once he hits 6 and Jayce with Electrocute is scary. Make these priority toplane bans and hope for an Irelia/ Fiora in your lane! Taking Arcane Comet against dominant melee champs should allow you to get ahead and stay ahead!

I've recently started a series where I breakdown different tiers of Heimerdinger players from Bronze to Diamond. They are VERY in-depth but worth a watch if you want to know the nitty gritty of my mindset when it comes to builds/runes/playstyle!

One thing Heimerdinger players should constantly be doing is utilizing the range on his auto attack to punish the opposing laner early! It doesn't matter if your main rune is Summon Aery or Electrocute - Constantly auto attacking from level 1 will give you a strong advantage in lane due to early damage/stopping your laner from CSing effectively

Doing this against Melee champions is especially annoying and works exceptionally well!:

Stealing Baron Nashor has always been something Heimerdinger can do..but most people dont do it as effectively and efficiently as they should! This video details how to steal Baron Nashor pretty much every time! It breaks down the whys, hows and whens of stealing Baron Nashor .

Always remember when stealing objectives:
  • Turrets for vision.
  • Ult Grenade for the steal.
  • W with the follow up.
If you have a Rabadon's Deathcap during the Baron Nashor steal or Dragon steal you will significantly increase your chances of success! The burst is so strong that its very hard for the jungler to calculate. Most of the time they are focused on your 3 turrets and disregard your incoming burst!
