[12.14] Menace To LoL Lillia

By King Turtle
Build Introduction
This build was an idea I had after the Lillia changes. At first I tried Lillia in top with just a normal ap build but felt that I was too squishy to be consistently strong in lane. Then I began running more bruiser and tank items and felt a lot better about my lane phase. This build is a great alternative to normal Lillia if you feel you need a tankier champ in your comp or you think you can run around people without being blown up. First we'll go over the pros and cons of this build then we'll check out the rest.
Pros
-Tons Of Healing: With this build you get TONS of healing from her base kit, spirit visage and her late game tankiness letting her be in fights longer. You can still blow people up while being tanky and getting similar if not more healing than standard Lillia.

-Good Lane Presence: After the mini rework Lillia top became a playable position. In top there are plenty of melee matchups that you can kite to death with abilities including some of the most popular champs like Sett for example. You're hard to beat against most matchups and if you decide to roam you're still Lillia so you can make an impact.

-Good Teamfighting: The issue with normal Lillia is that shes too squishy to stay in a fight consistently as her kits is based around her being hit and run, but with this build you can still be hit and run if you need to while having the capability to dive into a teamfight and wreck **** without inting.
Cons
-Less Roam Potential: due to the way top river is positioned throwing Es down from top lane to mid or bot is difficult and most of the time will just hit a wall before it reaches mid. You also don't have the base speed to roam over unless you're absolutely ahead or have nothing to do.

-Early Mana Costs: Since we're going dorans ring start, you might have a little trouble keeping your mana up if you try to play UBER aggressive. By mid game this problem goes away for the most part, but early game will have some trouble keeping your mana up.
Runes

  • Conqueror won't give you an insane amount of healing due to you going in and out of trades, but the adaptive damage you gain from these trades will be great for trading and killing your enemies early on. As long as you can properly balance your stacks you'll be perfectly fine

  • Presence of Mind allows you to spam abilities more early on and allows us to avoid needing a mana item during the early and mid game. No mana item means one more slot to focus on being the beefiest deer in Summoners Rift.

  • Legend: Tenacity is the only good rune in its respective branch for Lillia's kit because we're going to be want to be moving 24/7. The sooner you can get out of CC the sooner you can continue running circles around the enemy.

  • Coup De Grace will be best for general skirmishes and trades, and helping you execute anyone hit by your R+W combo.

  • Conditioning is going to be great because we don't get much for tank items until mid to late game so having that boost at 12 minutes will allow us more flexibility with mid game.

  • Revitalize will be your main healing rune and make up for the little healing you get from conqueror, and maybe if you're lucky you can get an enchanter who can use revitalize's shielding boost.
Abilities

  • Lillia's abilities apply Dream Dust against any enemies hit, dealing damage over time and healing her for 12-140[+20% AP] against champions. The healing's effectiveness is reduced for each target after the first.

  • Passive: Lillia gains a stack for 6.5 seconds every time she hits at least one enemy with an ability, granting up to a max of 4 stacks. Each ability hit refreshes the timer. Each individual stack also grants Lillia bonus movement speed.
Active: Lillia swings her censer in a circle, dealing magic damage to enemies hit withing the inner circle. Enemies hit within the outer circle additionally take Bonus True Damage.

  • Active: Lillia Dashes 150 units in a direction of her choice, dealing magic damage by slamming her censer down at a target location. Enemies hit at the center of the target location take 200% increased damage. This ability cannot go through terrain.

  • Active: Lillia tosses a seed in a target direction, rolling until the seed collides with an enemy or terrain. If it hits an enemy, the seed bursts, dealing magic damage to the enemy hit, and any other enemies in a small cone. Any enemies hit are slowed for 3 seconds and also revealed for 2 seconds.

  • Active: Lillia casts a lullaby over any targetable champions currently affected by Dream Dust. Every enemy affected becomes Drowsy for 1.5 seconds, and then falls asleep. The next instance of non persistent damage will wake the enemy, and consume the debuff to deal additional magic damage.
Riftmaker
Riftmaker is great because after the buffs you can get full stacks sooner and get the true damage sooner so you don't run into an issue with going in and out of trades and losing value. Add on the True damage from your Q edge and you have a bunch of different true damage sources that you can use to get past tanks and bruisers to keep them weak. The omnivamp gain from Riftmaker also pairs nicely with her new passive and allows for a more aggressive playstyle while staying healthy.
Sorc Shoes
Sorcerer's Shoes are great because we don't have a lot of AP so having that added magic pen will make your abilities more impactful into the late game.
Demonic Embrace
Demonic Embrace is a core item on Lillia as it helps her be built more like an ap bruiser and is easy to get value out of since we're getting so much hp in this build. Essentially we're getting the damage of a normal lillia while building to face tank a 1v4. It's a win win situation for everyone except the enemy team. It also gives an added burn which Lillia can always make use of with her kit.
Spirit Visage
Spirit Visage is the go to healing item for champions like Lillia because it gives a similar system to support items without having to buy a support item. The 25% increase adds on to your already potent healing to make you incredibly hard to kill mid game or late early game if you're ahead. You also get good base hp regen which keeps you in the game more often and makes it so you don't have to back as much as normal. Even if it wasn't a core item it's one of the better MR items because of the stats around the MR and the lack of MR items as it is.
Vs AP Heavy Comp
Abyssal Mask is a cheap MR item with a really good passive for us as we're going to be in the middle of teamfights lowering everyones MR so either we can hard stomp or we can open up the fight for any ap champions on the team. It's esepcially great since we already gain AP from demonic embrace passive. Force of Nature is a naturally good item on Lillia as the passive gives you Move Speed whenever you get hit by magic damage and adds even more MR onto the base MR gain. Since you'll be in the frontline a lot you'll be able to stack Force Of Nature as long as you aren't going balls deep into a 1v4. Even if you are, getting stunned or rooted just adds more stacks.
Vs AD Heavy Comp
Randuin's Omen is one of the highest armor items in the game, Is solid against crit champions like Yasuo, Yone, and Tryndamere, and has a 99% slow on active that makes sticking to enemies incredibly easy. Dead Man's Plate is the best armor item for Lillia as the movement speed from passive is great for her kit and you can keep it maxed out as long as you don't AA someone. The armor gain isn't the best you could possibly get but the cost of the item and the movement speed makes it entirely worth it.
Alternative Item
Frozen Heart is a solid alternative to either Armor item depending on what you want. If you're up against a team of 4 or 5 crit champions you could go Frozen Heart + Randuins to not only make crits less effective, but also make the enemies auto attacks slower. It also gives mana which is a great touch as we aren't building a ton otherwise and Lillia usually likes to spam her abilities.
Vs Mixed Comp
Against a comp with a good mix of AP and AD you'll want to go Force of Nature and Gargoyle Stoneplate. I've already explained Force Of Nature in the chapter Vs AP Heavy Comp if you wish to read that. For Gargoyle Stoneplate you get both 60 Armor and MR and the passive shield and you get the fortify passive which, similar to Force Of Nature, gives you stacks of MR and Armor whenever you get hit for a max of 5 stacks.
Early Game
Early Game is going to be best for testing the waters and seeing what you can and can't get away with. In good matchups you can be aggressive and run people out of lane with ease. In bad matchups you'll have to play safer and use your Q Edge + E to take pot shots and get cheap healing while the enemy tries to farm. If you get the chance and you're level 6 or higher you can move down river, throw Es down to mid lane and set up your mid laner for a kill or even just your jungler if they get into a trade in the top side river.
Mid Game
By Mid Game you should start to group with your team for objectives and important fights while still keeping up on farm. By now you'll have most of the core build finished by now. You have most of your healing prepared by now and you'll start to become more tanky. You'll want to get more involved around the entire map. If you're in a side lane while a fight happens somewhere else and you can't get there in time use your wave clear to quick shove lane and add some lane pressure.
Late Game
Late game is going to be when you truly reach tank status. You fall off in damage a little since you're not getting damage items past Demonic but you gain a lot more resistances and frontlining power. You can use your healing as a weapon to zone people out of objectives, shove waves and be able to get out while kiting anyone who tries to chase, and becoming a wall in teamfights that is hard to kill if you aren't focused down immediately. Due to your tankiness you can also get more effective ults and take some pressure off your team. The biggest thing for late game is just making sure you don't get caught out or let the enemy team 1v4 you. If you get locked down it can be difficult to get out.
Build Conclusion
In conclusion, this build lets you have the early damage and poke of normal Lillia which then transitions into bruiser Lillia mid game, and Tank Lillia Late game. You get a bit of every build path for her and with your healing you can be incredibly hard to kill while still wearing down your enemies with the constant burn effects you possess. It's been pretty fun to play and I felt that it was good enough to share with Mobafire. GLHF!
