Hey there! I'm Cookie, the former ADC for the academy teams of Vitality and SK Gaming. I've played competitively for 2 years but now I'm committed to streaming and releasing educational content to help others reach their goals and dreams.

I have been Challenger on the EUW Server since Season 6 and I've played with and against every European Pro such as Rekkles, Perkz, Caps, Jankos and many others at least 100 times by now, so I am really used to playing at the highest level.

I peaked rank 10 in S10 and maintain Challenger to this day, but now I mostly focus on doing public coaching and educational content, such as these guides to help a broader audience.

I hope that you enjoy my Ezreal Guide.
Ezreal is a high skill ceiling champion that relies largely on mechanical skill to be efficient.

Ezreal is a really good scaling ADC. He relies on items and will be especially strong at 2 items. It's very important to know this champ's power spikes.

You need to be really good at hitting skillshots if you plan on playing Ezreal, as every single one of his abilities is a low CD skillshot. Half or less of your DPS comes from your basic attacks at the start of the game, and as it goes on you auto less and less. Input buffering is also a huge skill to learn for this champ, you need to know all your E interactions; which will be covered in the matchup section.

With all this said, you shouldn't feel overwhelmed since he's one of the most fun characters in the game. Make sure you read this guide and practice to be really good at him!

Here's a video of me breaking down one of my Ezreal games so that you can learn him in practice.

Passive
Every time you hit a spell, Ezreal gets 1 stack of 10% Attack Speed up to a max of 5 for 6 seconds. Hitting any spell will refresh the duration.

During laning phase there's going to be moments where you want it stacked so make sure to hit any ability (probably not your E tho) to keep it refreshed.
Q (Active)
Ezreal will throw a skillshot that deals 20/45/70/95/120 (+130% AD and 15% AP) physical damage, along with any on-hit effects, to the first target hit. This means this ability can be body blocked.
It is very important to know that if you hit the ability it will reduce ALL of your cooldowns by 1.5 seconds.
It’s very easy to hit this ability when the enemy is near walls or stuck in an animation since they have restricted movement.
W (Active)
Ezreal fires an orb that will hit the first champion, epic monster or structure (mark will last for 4 seconds). The next auto or ability against the target detonates the mark, dealing magic damage. Mana cost + 60 mana is refunded if an ability was used to detonate the mark.

During laning phase a very common trading pattern is to throw the W at someone and just auto them instantly.
E (Active)
After Casting, Ezreal will Blink from his current location up-to 475 units towards the target location which is actually larger than Flash’s range of 400. He will also fire a homing bolt that deals magic damage to the nearest enemy hit and also reveal them for a brief moment. This ability prioritizes targets hit by Essence Flux (W).

There are many interactions with this ability and it is one of, if not, the best non-ultimate ability in the game. I’ll be explaining the interactions in the “Mechanics” section.
R (Active)
Ezreal fires a projectile in the target direction, which briefly grants you sight of the area it flies through and deals magic damage to all enemies hit. Minions and non epic monsters take a 50% reduced damage.

You can use this to kill a low hp enemy anywhere on the map, to push the wave, to poke an enemy out of lane during early game or right before a fight to stack up your passive.
Conqueror is really good since most of your damage comes from abilities so you stack it relatively easy, it also helps you get a lot of damage during lane so if you can hit consequitive Mystic Shots on the enemy ADC/Support they will take a lot of damage.
Biscuit Delivery is only good when you're facing a double poke lane and know you will be forced under tower with no lane agency.

Presence of Mind is a must take on poke style ADC's since most of them are really mana hungry/dependant.
Cosmic Insight is insane on Ezreal especially since you always go lucidity boots which puts your flash on a 230 second cooldown.

Legend: Bloodline is the most commonly used rune due to its strong scaling & healing power in mid-late game, especially if you aren't able to itemize into building a Ravenous Hydra.
You should take these rune shards every game when you play ADC. The only one that you can change is the Armor shard for the Magic Resist one if you're facing a mage in the botlane.

Coup de Grace is the ideal rune, as it synergizes well with items, such as Divine Sunderer and Frozen Heart. Cut Down can be selected here if enemy team primarily consists of HP stacking tanks/bruisers.

Perfect Timing can be taken into compositions of insane engage+assassins to bail you out in an early fight.

Future's Market allows you to hit your power spykes much sooner and even get full items right before important teamfights. If some sort of disaster happens in lane it could bail you out by allowing you to get Sheen + Tear of the Goddess first recall if you were to be missing some gold. Try not to use this rune in-game a lot since it puts you in a 50 gold debt.

Flash
The most common and iconic summoner spell in League of Legends, it offers great versatility as it allows you to dodge deadly abilities, chase down enemies, reposition and make some insane animation cancels and flashy plays. It is necessary to have Flash every single game.
Heal
The most consistent summoner spell for ADCs besides Flash because its really nice for 2v2's as it heals both you and your teammate while also giving you an MS buff which can be very useful to chase enemies or to run away from them. Keep in mind that Heal will target the allied champion that your cursor is on, if no champion is under your cursor it will heal the most wounded ally in range.
Cleanse
If the enemy team has one or multiple of these characters then take Cleanse: Fiddlesticks , Morgana, Ashe, Varus, Amumu, Lissandra, Lillia, Lux, Maokai, Seraphine, Sona, Twisted Fate, Zoe, Sejuani, Leona, Galio and Rammus. Keep in mind that Cleanse removes any summoner spell debuff, such as Ignite and Exhaust.
Exhaust
Exhaust is good if enemy has a lot of dive champions such as Talon, Samira, Tristana, Zed, etc. But if you have a lot of CC in your team then enemy ADC might take Cleanse which removes Exhaust so keep that in mind.
Teleport
Teleport can be taken on Ezreal but it depends on both the meta and the matchup. You could take it into a doble poke scaling botlane, such as Xerath, Ziggs, Brand, when you have a scaling support as well, such as Yuumi, Sona, Seraphine etc; especially if you know you are going to play weakside early game.
Game Start

Is the enemy support melee?

No

Start Doran's Blade for the extra HP
Start Long Sword + 3 Health Potions for more sustain

Does the enemy comp have 3 or more champs with >3k HP?
Yes
No

Is the enemy full AD/ has a fed AD assassin/carry
Yes
No

Does the enemy have a fed AP assasin/mage?

Yes

Frozen Heart if most of the team's DMG is AD, if it's AP go Wit's End

These are all of Ezreal's mechanics in their most basic form, the idea is that you can understand the foundation of the champ and build upon it.

A lot of these mechanics can be combined, like casting W Essence Flux + E Arcane Shift + Q Mystic Shot could be considered a mechanic but I decided to separate it for easier understanding. Imagine this like a Lego set and I just gave you all the pieces to make it!

AA+Q

To maximize your DPS (especially during laning phase) make sure you know how to cancel your Basic Attack animation with your Q Mystic Shot. This is very similar to kiting, the only difference is that you’re cancelling the animation with an ability rather than moving.
You're going to be doing this on Early/Mid game fights and when pushing waves. This is also your most basic trading pattern.

Q+Flash

You can start your Q Mystic Shot animation and then Flash during it’s cast time. It will be thrown to where your mouse was when you pressed the button. This is useful when you need extra range on it or you have to dodge an ability.

Q+E

The point of this mechanic is to put your E Arcane Shift on cooldown and reducing it’s CD immediately with the Q Mystic Shot that you casted beforehand. This works starting at 60% of the Q Mystic Shot max range since you need your E Arcane Shift to go on cooldown before the Q Mystic Shot hits.
You're going to be doing this to move around the map faster, by using the Q Mystic Shot on minions or jungle camps, or when running away from the enemy.

W+Q

Very basic combo, useful in lane when you want to restore mana from long range, incredible damage at later stages of the game. You need to cast the W Essence Flux and then the Q Mystic Shot at a different position if they are moving, if you throw them at the same place one will miss. One way (mainly in lane) to make it easier to hit it is to throw the W Essence Flux first, hold the Q Mystic Shot to see how they react and then throw it.

W+E

This can help oneshot someone squishy in the later stages but it’s useful in lane to restore mana in a way that’s guaranteed, you just have to be very careful of how and where you’re using your E Arcane Shift so that you don’t get caught out of being mispositioned.

If nothing can block your Q Mystic Shot after the E Arcane Shift you can combine this with E+Q for a really fast burst of damage by input buffering your abilities.

W turret Q minion

This is the best way to keep your passive Rising Spell Force proc’d and increase the amount of W’s you can throw at a tower, since the Q Mystic Shot will reduce it’s cooldown. Keep track of where the enemy minion wave is by looking at the minimap since it will be mirrored to your own minion wave.

W+R

This will make it so you do insane single target dmg on whoever you hit your W Essence Flux on after your E Arcane Shift proc’s it. This will also refund the mana cost of your ult so in certain lanes it can be useful to poke people under tower. Combine this with ulting from fog of war by W-ing someone as the wave is crashing, walking to a bush and then ulting them making it really hard to dodge; This can facilitate a tower dive or force them to recall and miss CS.

E+Q

This mechanic works by input buffering your Q Mystic Shot so that it goes off instantly after your E Arcane Shift, just press the Q Mystic Shot to where you want to throw it immediately after pressing E Arcane Shift. Remember the Q Mystic Shot will be casted from where your E blinks you to with the direction of your mouse when you pressed Q Mystic Shot.
This can be combined with W+E at the start for even more burst damage.

E+Flash

This allows you to flash as your E Arcane Shift is casting, making you blink over twice the Flash distance almost instantly and extending the range of the E Arcane Shift damage. This is very useful when running down someone who’s really low so use this when you know this will kill them or you can kill them instantly after doing it.

R+Flash

This helps reposition instantly or just overall gain mobility while you are stuck in your ultimate Trueshot Barrage cast time. You CAN’T change your ultimate Trueshot Barrage trajectory, it will always go towards the direction you casted it and only helps to reposition yourself.
The most useful ways of using this mechanic are: Flashing into fog of war so they can’t see where you are casting it towards (this can be by either flashing over terrain or into a bush); Flashing towards the direction you ulted so a melee opponent walks into the ult or flashing to dodge an ability thrown at you as you were casting your ult.

R from Fog of War

Whenever you use your ult Trueshot Barrage try to always do it outside of vision since it will give the enemies much less time to react.
This is especially strong when combined with R+Flash (during fights) or W+R (during laning phase mostly).

E Input buffer

A lot of times you want to E before an ability hits you altogether but this mechanic can give a lot of lane safety or outplay potential; essentially you want to cast your E pretty much at the same time you're getting hit by an ability and it will always reposition you to where you casted it.

This is extremely useful when facing hook supports such as Nautilus, Blitzcrank, Pyke or engage champs like Alistar or Pantheon.

When paired with a heavy point and click cc-team, Cleanse can be beneficial in preventing cc-lock follow up from Ashe R Enchanted Crystal Arrow.

In lane, Ashe will look to abuse her auto-range (600) in combination with her W Volley (14s CD, lvl.1) to harass and trade. Her passive Frost Shot will slow you down, opening you up for a cc-lock and harass by enemy support. Additionally, Approach Velocity allows her to run you down if caught out. Your E Arcane Shift can help escape this sometimes so play around it’s cooldown.

Ashe’s main goal in lane will be to constantly harass with autos and W Volley to keep you at low hp for denying minions and experience.

Standing behind minions to avoid W Volley harass and then walking beside them to hit your own Q Mystic Shot is how you get HP advantages in lane; it’s easier to hit if you throw it when she’s in the basic attack animation. Keep track of Ashe's Hail of Blades/ Lethal Tempo cooldowns, as these open up opportunities for trading with your support. It’s really hard to escape from Ashe once you commit (especially if you use E Arcane Shift offensively) so make sure that you win the 2v2 if you decide to fight.

Your goal as Ezreal should be to farm and avoid deaths at all costs. You will outscale her and deal more damage at 2 items if even.

Exhaust could be useful against him if he has more burst characters, like assassins, on his team.
Initially he will look to poke you out with Calibrum, the Sniper Rifle since he outranges you so just play beside the minion wave so you are able to Q Mystic Shot him when he’s stuck in auto attack animation. Respect his range and don’t walk up if you don’t have to.

You will have an easy time this lane if you poke him without letting him trade into you. He has way better all-ins pretty much at every stage of the game but you will have a better laning phase since you can out range him.

Ideally you can keep him under tower and harass him but this will also depend on support matchup, you can usually push with any ranged support and shove with melees so they can roam.

Make sure that you can disengage from his current weapon rotation with E Arcane Shift so that you don’t get run down by him. The most important guns you have to keep track of are Purple and Red since they allow him to cut the gap from your E Arcane Shift and get on top of you.

Caitlyn has the highest base auto range (650) enabling her to easily harass you when last hitting minions. Her goal will be to shove waves under the turret and harass with auto + Q Piltover Peacemaker. In turn, this permits her to zone you off the wave under turret, while maintaining a health advantage with the constant barrage of poke.

Playing beside the minion wave is really helpful in this lane since she has to make a choice to either Q Piltover Peacemaker you or the minion wave; make sure you’re never inside the wave when her Q Piltover Peacemaker is not on CD to avoid her poking and shoving for free. You can’t really match her push with just your Q Mystic Shot but depending on support matchup you could keep the wave somewhere outside of your tower and on your side of the lane allowing ganks or an all-in if you can poke her enough.

As Ezreal you just want to stay very healthy and outscale. How you play this lane will depend on support matchup. Ranged vs ranged means perma push lane and whoever is under tower is likely to lose. On ranged vs melee you need to be cautious of the melee’s engage or trade ability so slow pushing becomes more powerful vs the melee support. In melee vs melee slow pushing is also good when playing for lane but you might end up hard shoving to allow your support to roam.

Draven’s main dmg comes from his Q axes, as he will try to maintain 2 of them at all times. With Hail of Blades, he wants to triple axe you and with Conqueror he will take slower fights. He’s looking to kill you or your support during lane to cash in his passive League of Draven and snowball.

Your goal will be to abuse your Q Mystic Shot range advantage and Draven’s weak lvl 1 to poke him as much as possible. Once he reaches lvl 2+ and gets W Blood Rush you have to focus, as he can use the MS to close in the gap and run you down. You can E Arcane Shift away from him to not take as much damage but be aware that he can pretty much run you down at any point.

You can force trades if you ever see that Draven has no spinning axes, as you will deal more DMG than him under most circumstances. As long as you don’t die and play around ganks/support, you will comfortably outscale. However, if an opportunity arises to kill him, take it so that he is unable to cash in the passive.

This is a really hard lane for Ezreal since you have no way to match his DPS or overall lane power, try to Q Mystic Shot him when he runs to pick up an axe since you know exactly where he’s going, if you do that enough times his HP won’t be enough to run you down. Do not try to 1v1 him at any stages of the game since he will most likely win every time.

All of Jhin’s damage in lane comes from 4th shot and Q Dancing Grenade, especially if he can kill minions with it to increase its damage. He will look to force a trade on every 4th shot since it will out-trade almost every ADC. Jhin has weak all-ins so he’s looking to trade as much as possible to burst you down once you reach lethal.

To trade against Jhin, wait for Q Dancing Grenade cooldown and/or if he doesn’t have 4th shot; you’re guaranteed to win the trade if he’s reloading. Ezreal is a poke champ so you should look to Q Mystic Shot him whenever he autos (mainly 4th shot since it’s a long animation that can’t be cancelled). Look to punish Jhin when he has 2 bullets left, as he will soon have to reload, depending on support matchup you could use W Essence Flux and E Arcane Shift to get some quick damage. Both of you scale really well, Ezreal will have more consistent DPS and long range poke whilst Jhin will have decent burst; don’t be afraid to just go even in lane.

Try not to stay close to minions as his Q Dancing Grenade can bounce to you & be careful of Jhin whenever he has his 4th shot ready as you don’t want to get hit for free, wait for him to use it.

Be mindful that Jhin can W Deadly Flourish you if you take any damage from any enemy champion which will root you in place and can easily catch you off guard, but It’s relatively slow so you should be able to sidestep it by going either left or right.

Jinx’s only real source of DMG is her auto attacks, as her W Zap! is extremely slow and It’s extremely easy to sidestep unless you’re CC’d or next to a wall, so keep that in mind.

Try to get a lot of poke into her on the early levels using with your Q Mystic Shot. Without her passive proc you will out-dps as long as you don't miss your Q's in laning phase.

It’s okay to play passively and around your jungler in this matchup since in the later stages of the game both of you want to do different things and you will usually be in a better position if you play around your 1300 Q Mystic Shot range.

Be careful about standing close to minions as her Rockets has splash damage and they deal a lot of damage if you get multiple times, so I suggest standing a bit away from the minions and then trying to hit Q Mystic Shot whenever she’s trying to last hits minions

Be extremely careful of getting CC’d by the enemy support as Jinx can follow up with her E Flame Chompers! and then you’ll be CC’d until death. As Ezreal you should be able to avoid this by input buffering your E Arcane Shift whenever you’re about to get CC’d.

Don’t stand close to walls as it makes it a lot easier for Jinx to land her W Zap! / R Super Mega Death Rocket! on you

Her damage in lane comes from Q Icathian Rain, passive Second Skin and auto attacks. She will pretty much win all-ins against you because of her passive Second Skin. With an engage support she can blow you up since it guarantees her W Void Seeker to hit meaning she can insta proc her passive and maybe even land an isolated Q Icathian Rain.

You want to stand inside your minion wave, or near at least 1 minion, so that her Q Icathian Rain isn’t isolated; play on the side of the lane whenever her Q Icathian Rain is on cooldown so you can hit your own Q Mystic Shot. Kai’sa’s trading pattern is Auto attack + Q Icathian Rain, she will try to land at least 3 autos if she has Hail of Blades up, so don’t try to do extended trades if it is. Since W Void Seeker is very slow and has an even slower wind up animation she won’t be using it to poke you, rather she will save it for a teammate’s CC in order to guarantee it hits or to proc her passive after landing 3-4 autos in you. Note, if you have 3-4 plasma stacks on you, her W Void Seeker will do more damage, as it will add 2 plasma stacks to proc her passive Second Skin, dealing a large amount of damage, dodge it with E Arcane Shift if this is the case.

If she uses Q Icathian Rain, or both Q Icathian Rain and W Void Seeker, to farm, try to force a trade since she won’t really be able to damage you unless she procs her full passive Second Skin.

This matchup is generally easy because you have your E Arcane Shift up until lvl 6 when she can all-in you pretty much any time. Kai'Sa scales extremely well and will always be able to win a duel against you since she has both more DPS and burst damage.

Kalista’s dmg comes from landing multiple spears for a big dmg E Rend and her Q Pierce; her autos deal very little damage. She’s looking to get a lead early and snowball into the late game in order to have some value. She relies on an engage support during lane, otherwise she’s a really weak champ.

She’s going to try and Q Pierce low health minions if you’re standing behind them, as it will kill the minion, transfer the Rend stacks to you and apply the Q Pierce damage as well. Once you are aware of this just position similar to how you would against Miss Fortune. You need to abuse her early as much as possible with your Q Mystic Shot, since she’s a low range AD. this will allow you to survive the lane since she won’t have enough HP to all-in. Play around your Q Mystic Shot and E Arcane Shift CD’s since she can kill you if she’s able to all-in you.

If she misses Q Pierce on you or wastes E Rend you may be able to force a trade on her; BE CAREFUL, her E Rend cooldown resets if it kills any target, so she’s likely to use it to last hit minions.

Focus on not giving her a lead in lane, don’t die and scale up. You will be much stronger once you start getting items.

His main source of DMG are his autos whenever he has W Bio-Arcane Barrage active; additionally, Q Caustic Spittle can deal some damage due to the resistances shred as well. If he can hit you for free with W Bio-Arcane Barrage, he will often win the trade/all-in, especially in combination with Q Caustic Spittle + E Void Ooze.

Never trade against him unless his W Bio-Arcane Barrage is on CD. Whenever he uses it (he starts glowing when it’s active) just back up, and walk back after and play aggressively. You still have to be mindful of the Q Caustic Spittle, don’t trade if it hits you.

This champ is pretty weak if he’s not paired with Lulu since he’ll be pretty squishy and won’t deal as much dmg without Lulu pixy + attack speed steroid; if they’re paired together never trade when Kog'Maw has W Bio-Arcane Barrage off cooldown and/or Lulu has her shield available.

Mostly you want to stay healthy and poke him so that he can never all-in you. He’s an immobile ADC so it’s pretty easy to hit him with all of your spells and he lacks wave clear so you can abuse him all laning phase and constantly poke him under tower to make him miss minions.

Lucian is looking to mainly do 3 things: poke you while last hitting with Q Piercing Light, force trades with his passive Lightslinger and auto resets and all-in you to blow you up. Since he doesn’t scale that well he's looking to get lead in lane and snowball into the later stages. In the worst case scenario just don’t die vs him.

Lucian is looking to poke you a lot with his Q Piercing Light by hitting you with the tip by casting it on a minion. Try to bait this ability and side step it, if he uses it and misses a lot of his damage is gone, so just wait for him to use his passive on minions and then force a trade on him or just hit him with your Q Mystic Shot when he’s stuck in his Q animation

One common mistake a Lucian can do is E Relentless Pursuit forward and not hit his double auto attack on you and thus wasting his E Relentless Pursuit. You should look to poke him as much as possible with Q Mystic Shot so that it becomes really hard for him to all-in you during the lane. If he misses his Q Piercing Light just force a short trade since that cooldown isn’t that long, try to not get hit by both of his passive procs from W Ardent Blaze and E Relentless Pursuit. If he misses Q Piercing Light and E’s forward you most likely can all-in and just kill him or blow a summoner for free.

Try to never use your E Arcane Shift when he has E up, usually whoever uses their E first in this matchup will lose the fight.

Since you outscale him, if you ever feel too pressured by Lucian + whatever support he has you can just chill and farm.

Her main goal is to poke you with Q Double Up by bouncing it on minions and bully you during the laning phase. Her all-ins are decent, but pretty much half her damage is her Q.

She has okay scaling, while Ezreal definitely outscales. Therefore, an early lead to guarantee usefulness during the later stages of the game is required for her. This is especially true if building lethality since she will deal no damage if behind.

There’s only two ways she can trade, hitting you with a Q bounce or proc-ing Press the Attack with AA+Q+AA. Since all of her laning damage relies on Q, play as aggressively as you can when it’s down. Play besides the minions and make sure there’s never a minion between you and her ESPECIALLY if it’s low HP since it will make her Q crit.

Her Q has a relatively long animation in which you could Q her yourself. Depending on support matchup you should be able to force a trade or an all-in after she misses Q; you can space at auto attack range to use Q Mystic Shot, W Essence Flux and auto attacks an input buffer your E Arcane Shift if they try to engage on you. If she wastes E Make it Rain you can probably play aggressive as well since she will be missing both the utility and the self peel that it provides.

Samira’s extremely weak Level 1, she’s essentially relying on small pokes with Q Flair but your own Q Mystic Shot has almost twice the range so keep your distance and Q her whenever she Q’s you since she can’t move during the animation. Slow push the wave and then hit the Samira / Support with your Q whenever you can.

However, once Samira’s level 2-3 she can easily all-in you, BUT she needs her support to engage first. As long as you avoid whatever gap-closer/CC they have with E Arcane Shift, you should be okay so you shouldn’t be very afraid to walk up.

Samira has insane all-in damage since pretty much every ability is an auto cancel, she can insta proc conqueror and has increased damage at melee range. However, her trading potential is quite low since everything but Q is an all-in ability.

Samira has quite mediocre scaling outside her teamfighting abilities but it’s really hard for her to deal damage without items. Because of this snowballing since lane is kind of her win-con and playing off his team’s engage.

You want to poke her as much as possible early game and keep your E to disengage.
Her trading pattern is AA+Q so make sure to play inside your minion wave so she can’t Q you or keep enough distance to hit her with your Q as she Q’s. You need to be very careful when you get hit since she can get early passive and conqueror stacks and just jump on you after 1 or 2 trading patterns.

Samira will always beat you in all-ins during laning phase so use your E to always keep your distance. You can only use it offensively (whether it be to trade or all-in) if her E Wild Rush is down and the support can’t engage on you. Make sure you track their cooldowns so they don’t jump on you when your E is on cooldown.

Syndra can be an annoying matchup if you can’t sidestep her Q Dark Sphere.

Generally play besides the laning phase so you can Q Mystic Shot her and whenever she uses Q she has to either aim at you or the wave and can never hit both. So long you can avoid her Q’s you will have a very easy scaling laning phase. Since she’s an immobile mage you should have an easy time bullying her.

You don’t need to mind her E Scatter the Weak that much, just avoid standing behind her orbs so that you don’t get stunned but you can always input buffer your own E Arcane Shift either defensively if you’re guaranteed to get hit or the support will follow up, or offensively to fight her as soon as it’s put on cooldown if you’re quick enough.

So the way Senna works is that she loves trading because her passive Absolution will give her a soul if she hits a champ with 2 attacks or abilities. This has a 6 second cooldown so she will AA+Q Piercing Darkness you off the Q cooldown to get as many stacks as possible.

If you/teammate can close the gap onto Senna, she is squishy and can easily be defeated.

Your goal is to trade as little as possible so you don’t let her stack for free, which means standing outside her auto range and try to get as many Q Mystic Shot hits on her so you can all-in her.

All of her damage in lane comes from her Q Boomerang Blade which is kinda slow, and easily dodgeable. At lvl 1 just dodge her Q and then walk up to auto+Q Mystic Shot her since you have a 50 range advantage and she has pretty much no way of dodging your Q. After level 2, keep doing the same thing, except now you have abilities to deal more damage after dodging her Q.

Best things she can spell shield from you is the W Essence Flux damage or your ultimate Trueshot Barrage so hold on to these (mainly the ult, the W isn’t that important if you can land your Q’s) until her E Spell Shield has been used.

I recommend walking into the lane and hit the CS 1-2 times so that it slowpushes towards the enemy and once it does that you should solely focus on attacking the Tristana as much as possible with your Q Mystic Shot.

Tristana’s weak level 1 as long as she isn’t able to use E Explosive Charge on you, just stand outside of her auto range and poke her with your Q; even an AA+Q trade will win if she only lands the E Explosive Charge and 1 auto.

If she ever hits the E Explosive Charge on you just back off so that she can’t stack it up meaning it will deal very little damage. Whenever she uses E Explosive Charge on the tower, wave, support or on you and didn’t fully blow it up you should play as aggressive as possible since she will have no damage. She relies completely on bursting someone down with the bomb.

If she jumps on you to proc the bomb, E away as fast as you can so that you don’t get slowed.

Twitch has an extremely low range but he makes up for that with his W Venom Cask as it slows for 30% which can enable him to get more autos onto you, I’d try to trade & fight whenever he doesn’t have his W Venom Cask and most Twitches tend to throw it out quite a bit so it shouldn’t be hard to find a window.

Twitch will always beat you in an all-in so you need to focus on poking him as much as possible so that if he’s always too low to all-in you.

Be careful since his ult Spray and Pray has enough range that you will have to use both E Arcane Shift and Flash to get out of the range usually. Play around your support and never take an extended trade, you only win through poke.

Control wards are your friends as well. I recommend placing control wards in the lane bush and during mid-late game, place it wherever you’re skirmishing / fighting to make it harder for Twitch to assassinate your team.

You could take Cleanse in this matchup as Ezreal since heal has very little value, but only do it if they have other champs who can CC you.

Level 1 bait his E Hail of Arrows and then walk out, dodge it if possible. Once the area disappears, you can trade with AA+Q more comfortably since it’s harder for him to land autos without you being slowed. He doesn’t have W Blighted Quiver until level 3 so you don’t have to worry about his passive Living Vengeance stack damage until then, just AA+Q to out trade, otherwise you will be slowed and grievously wounded meaning you will lose trades.

After level 3 don’t walk up to auto him since he can just triple auto you with Hail of Blades and instantly proc his passive with E Hail of Arrows or Q Piercing Arrow tap and he will win pretty much every fight. Focus on keeping your distance and if he misses Q, work with your support to get a good trade or even all-in; you need to stay as healthy as possible if you ever want to kill him.

After 6 his R Chain of Corruption is slow enough for you to dodge it with your E. BE CAREFUL, he has enough range in his Q to hit you if you input buffer it and get rooted. Whenever he misses his R you should be able to out DPS him, especially if you poked him earlier in the lane.

Vayne is really weak pre-6, just poke her as much as possible to prevent her from running you down. Once she has W Silver Bolts, which is usually level 2 but sometimes level 3, she has a really strong trade when autoing you 3 times. Look to take short trades where she can only hit you 1 or 2 times or all-in her with your support if she’s low enough.

After 6 she can quite easily run you down with invis since it makes it really hard to hit your abilities on her so never try to 1v1; never overextend in a lane if you’re alone.

Never stand near walls vs Vayne since she can probably kill you at any point in the game if she lands a stun. Your E Arcane Shift can help you avoid this if you can blink to a safe position in which she can’t go in because she’ll die.

Xayah is usually very weak Level 1, she can only try to poke a bit with her Q Double Daggers through minions. After level 2 she will try to Q AA E you for poke and/or to root you so her support or jungler can follow up. Pay attention to her feathers so that she can't root you with 3+ feathers.

You want to poke her as much as possible during the laning phase with Q Arcane Shift. After level 3 be a bit careful, as she gets all-in potential with her W Deadly Plumage if she has an engage support; you should be able to E away from the engage anyways. If she doesn't have an engage support she doesn't have that much kill threat because there’s nobody to follow up on her root or to hold you down for her E Bladecaller.

If Xayah uses her W to push the wave or hit your support, she loses a lot of her dmg potential and you can try to go for trades with her.

When all-inning Xayah use your E to position away from the feathers as she is casting her E to avoid their dmg and win the duel.

Mages are very bad into Ezreal since they can’t really dodge your Q Mystic Shot and you do everything that they do in laning phase but better.

Basically what you want to do is NOT stay in minions because the easiest way for him to poke you is by Q’ing the minions and then the splash damage will hit you as it’s very big, so stay on the side of the wave instead.

You should be able to easily Q him whenever he casts an auto or an ability. Depending on support matchup, you can E Arcane Shift towards him as he casts his minefield or satchel to get an all-in instantly when he has no abilities up and already missed all his damage.

Tracking cooldowns is your friend here, check out the wiki and practice his cooldowns.

PLAYING WITH

Be very careful playing aggressively at level 1 as Alistar is very weak unless the enemies walk into melee range to get Q’d by Alistar. I recommend trying to get in as many hits on the enemies as possible with your Q Mystic Shot while still keeping your distance and not trying to trade 1v2. It’s not uncommon to get pushed in and let the enemies reach level 2 first in this matchup.

Your goal is to get as much CS as possible while remaining full HP until Alistar’s Level 2 - 3 when he’s strong and you can 2v2 easily for burst trades or all-ins if you poked them enough.

The way you set up all-ins with Alistar is by poking the enemy down to lethal or taking multiple beneficial trades. You should be looking to make slow pushes to run the enemy down in lane or dive as soon as the wave crashes since setting up dives with Alistar is really easy, especially after 6 when he can tank tower forever with his ult Unbreakable Will.

PLAYING AGAINST

Abuse Alistar’s lack of Level 1 strength by slow pushing as slow as possible, stack waves while zoning & attacking the enemies as much as possible but be extremely careful about walking into Alistar’s Q Pulverize range or into the enemy minion wave as he’s able to Flash + Q Pulverize to close out the distance.

You shouldn’t worry too much about his engage since you can E Arcane Shift his W Headbutt and make him kinda useless. Depending on the ADC, you might have to be careful if he took phase rush since he can just run the distance you made with E Arcane Shift and stun you.

Just like playing with him, the enemy will most likely look to run you down in lane or dive you, so your goal when playing against him is to stay as healthy as possible and slow push to poke them under tower since he can’t ever engage on you. Depending on the matchup they might not have enough damage during a dive so Alistar will shove in waves with the ADC and then roam.

PLAYING WITH

It’s important to play around the minion waves with a Bard as he can easily stun the enemies if you’re fighting inside one, Bard also has healing with his W Caretaker's Shrine which allows you to trade a lot with the enemy especially if their support doesn’t have any healing.

If Bard misses Q Cosmic Binding then be extremely careful for around 10 seconds as that’s his only offensive tool in 2v2 fights, however if he does land it then make sure to get some damage off, either in a small trade or an all in if you think you’ll win.

Ezreal synergizes pretty well after level 6 since he will put them in stasis making it easy for you to time your ultimate Trueshot Barrage and guarantee it hits.

PLAYING AGAINST

Try to bait Bard's Q Cosmic Binding as soon as possible, try to sidestep and then for 10 seconds walk up and trade with your Q Mystic Shot until it’s back up. Keep in mind that Bard offers healing to the enemy ADC with his W Caretaker's Shrine so be careful not to trade evenly unless your support heals more.

Generally, it’s pretty easy to play against Bard as long as you don’t walk up too far whenever he has Q Cosmic Binding available and make sure not to stay behind minions / walls which enables you to get stunned if you get hit by his Q Cosmic Binding. You could E Arcane Shift away if the Q Cosmic Binding is going to stun you but be careful, since it’s a long stun they might be able to still follow up.

PLAYING WITH

You should be careful of walking up too far Level 1 if your Blitzcrank is not in a position to hook the enemy, but generally Blitzcrank is quite weak until at least level 2 so it’s completely okay to let the enemy reach level 2 first BUT don’t be too far up as it’s impossible to win fights if you’re Level 1 and the enemy’s level 2.

Generally, try to hold the wave slightly outside your turret as much as possible as that forces the enemy botlane to walk up deep which increases your chances of Blitzcrank landing a successful hook. It’s very important that you DONT let the enemy wave become too big whilst doing this though, they should never have more than 3-4+ CS more than your wave.

I refer to this wave management technique as the snowballing lane technique.

PLAYING AGAINST

This champion completely relies on hitting his Q Rocket Grab on you in order to be useful which Ezreal completely counters with his E: if he’s ever going to hit you, use the ability since it will reposition you even if it hits. It’s extremely important to stand behind minions when your E Arcane Shift is in cooldown and slowpushing waves to make it easier to hit your Q Mystic Shot and harass them.

If you’re crossing into Blitzcrank’s side of the lane and you have no idea where the enemy jungler is make sure to ward, otherwise you can easily get ganked as Blitzcrank has great gank setup once he’s level 3 vs you since he can just Flash + E Power Fist.

PLAYING WITH

Brand’s not very strong level 1 as he doesn’t have access to his strong combo but he still has okay-ish poke with his W Pillar of Flame, make sure not to walk TOO deeply too and instead focus on short trades or poking together with Brand W Pillar of Flame using your Q Mystic Shot.

However, whenever Brand’s Level 2 & 3 then be ready to follow up whenever he walks up to trade, if Brand actually hits his abilities (especially Q) then commit into a potential all in BUT if he misses most if not all of his abilities then be ready to retreat and worst case let Brand die if you dont see yourself winning the fight.

PLAYING AGAINST

Try to bait Brand to W Pillar of Flame you as soon as possible and do your best to sidestep it, then walk up aggro and trade for 8 seconds until it’s back up. Now, be careful of Brand after he’s Level 2 as he will try to do his W Pillar of Flame into Q Sear combo on you, and if you get hit by this there’s a decent chance you might die if you’re in a bad position to begin with but buffering your E Arcane Shift as you get stunned might save you.

Since Brand’s a mage, he’s completely useless without his abilities so if you notice that he either used all of his abilities on your support, is out of mana or simply has them on cooldown, consider an all-in.

Be very careful of sticking together with your teammates whenever Brand’s Level 6 since his ultimate will bounce between targets and deal A LOT of damage if you don’t split apart quickly. Use your E Arcane Shift to get as far away from Brand or your teammate’s when he ults.

PLAYING WITH

So basically the entire purpose of Braum is to protect you from whatever wants to jump onto you, so he’s really good into everything that isn’t ranged basically. You’re both extremely strong since your Q Mystic Shot gives Braum passive stacks if he manages to land his Q Winter's Bite or auto a specific target. AA + Q + AA will instantly stun a target marked by Braum.

If your Braum misses his Q Winter's Bite in early levels then be extra careful as he’s kinda useless without it but if it hits then you can most likely get a really good free trade.

PLAYING AGAINST

You shouldn’t have any issues playing vs Braum as long as you stay behind minions / support so that he’s not able to land Q Winter's Bite on you. If he ever jumps near you or gets on top of you, use your E Arcane Shift to get away before he lands Q / AA to avoid getting stunned altogether.

Braum’s at his weakest whenever his E’s on cooldown as that’s his main defensive tool and it has a HUGE cooldown of 16 seconds so fight whenever it’s down but be cautious of his Q Winter's Bite still.

His E Unbreakable works as a windwall so not only can it eat up your ultimate damage but it will also remove it from the map entirely, do not use your ult Trueshot Barrage until his E Unbreakable is in cooldown and try to hold your W Essence Flux as well if you can.

PLAYING WITH

Galio relies on combo-ing his abilities in order to lock down & oneshot the target, so don’t expect too much from him level 1 UNLESS he manages to land his W Shield of Durand / E Justice Punch in which case you can walk up and get some free autos and/or Q’s on whatever target he locks down.

If he starts with Q Winds of War then he’s kinda useless level 1 except for some poke damage, but when he’s level 3 then he has access to his entire kit and then all you have to do is be ready to follow up on his engages and you will most likely be able to oneshot whoever he locks down if you traded previously or simply be able to run them down since he guarantees you hit all of your spells.

PLAYING AGAINST

Be careful of walking too close to the bushes as Galio LOVES to sit in them patiently waiting for you to walk close enough for him to E Justice Punch.

So long you have vision or play away from the bushes you should be fine since he can never engage on you. You have to be VERY FOCUSED against him since he will try to Flash+ W Shield of Durand you so he can guarantee his spells or straight up flashing in with nimbus cloak and running at you after you E Essence Flux. You need to E Essence Flux away from it’s dash before it hits you and input buffer it on his taunt to have the most chances of survival.

Whenever he misses one W Shield of Durand or E Justice Punch and you still have your E Essence Flux play as aggressive as you can since he’s completely useless.

PLAYING WITH

Janna has quite a bit of poke damage and range with her W Zephyr level 1 so I suggest slowpushing the wave and attacking the enemy together since her slow should guarantee you hit your Q Mystic Shot. It’s quite hard to all-in the opponents with Janna and instead you should focus on doing short trades and chip away their HP little by little BUT if Janna manages to land a Q Howling Gale on the enemy that could result in a hefty chunk of HP or even all-in if scenarios are right.

PLAYING AGAINST

Janna will try to walk up and W Zephyr you as much as she can Level 1 but you easily out trade her with AA+Q, this is a spammable trade pattern. Obviously you also have to be cautious of the enemy ADC trading with you as well since she slows you with W Zephyr, so be sure to be trading 1v1 or with your support, never 1v2.

It’s extremely important that you’re wary of her Q Howling Gale at ALL times, she will try to charge the Q’s in fog of war, inside the bushes and so on but as long as you’re always keeping them in mind it’s simple to sidestep them as they are slow; worse case scenario input buffer your E Arcane Shift to safety if it’s 100% going to hit you.

PLAYING WITH

The range, poke and all-in potential you two have is absolutely insane; this is the best enchanter you can be paired up with. You can Q Mystic Shot them very easily if she ever lands her own since they’ll be extremely slowed. Her W Focused Resolve is pretty much a point and click root so it guarantees you hit all of your spells on whoever she CC’d. With her shields and MS boost it’s really easy to position in the land to pockets in which you can land your Q Mystic Shot, so you can save your E for until they are in lethal or you have to disengage.

Look to slow push or even hardshove the enemy under their tower to harass them as much as possible and make csing extremely hard; just be mindful of the enemy jungler/mid/top TP and don’t die to ganks/roams.

PLAYING AGAINST

So Karma’s by far the enchanter with the most damage in laning phase and A LOT of people struggle to play against her, but as long as you stay horizontally away from her and there’s a minion wave between you she won’t be able to land her Q’s on you.

Be careful of entering into lane as a lot of Karmas like to R Mantra + Q Inner Flame- you whenever you walk up to the minion wave and it’s kinda hard to counter that if you are forced to leash your jungler but worst case you take some damage. The WORST thing that you can do against Karma is walking up aggro into the enemy botlane without any minion protection and she has R Mantra + Q Inner Flame available as you’ll get extremely slowed & damaged if you get hit which easily leads into you dying.

I always try to bait Karma R Mantra + Q Inner Flame as fast as I can when I enter lane and then I walk up and trade whenever Karma Q Inner Flame is on cooldown for 7 seconds but I NEVER walk up if she has R Mantra + Q Inner Flame up.

As Ezreal you should space her in a way that your E Arcane Shift will get you out of the root range if she ever tries to go for it. Be careful of getting into range if she has E Inspire up since the movement speed will most likely keep you in tether range even if you E Arcane Shift away instantly.

PLAYING WITH

Leona’s quite weak Level 1 as she doesn’t have access to her E Zenith Blade into Q Shield of Daybreak combo so don’t walk up too aggressively. It’s quite common to let the enemies get level 2 first and just go back to turret and wait for the wave to come into you, but if you’re able to get level 2 first then that’s really good, just make sure to PING the enemies a few seconds BEFORE you’re level 2 so that your Leona’s more prepared to engage.

PLAYING AGAINST

Slowpush the first wave and hit the enemies as soon as they walk up in range but be cautious not to walk into the enemy wave as Leona can start E Zenith Blade and still engage on you even though it’s not that strong.

Cleanse can be useful in this matchup if the botlane has enough CC to counter your E Arcane Shift or other enemy champs have enough easy-to-hit CC which would kill you easily ( Twisted Fate, Lillia, etc.).

You can input buffer your E Arcane Shift on any of Leona’s CC abilities to bring you to safety, you just have to be very mindful of her E Zenith Blade for two reasons: 1.- If you get hit by it and input buffer your E Arcane Shift, you will drag Leona to wherever you E’d towards (this can be useful since you can bring her to your turret) and 2.- If you get CC’d by Q Shield of Daybreak or R Solar Flare and she still has E Zenith Blade, even if you input buffer your own E Arcane Shift she can still catch up to you. Best way to avoid this is by tracking her Flash and being out of Flash+Q Shield of Daybreak range.

PLAYING WITH

Try to find out whether your Lulu starts with Q Glitterlance or E Help, Pix! simply by asking her. If she starts E Help, Pix! then walk up and trade with it and whenever it’s on cooldown (8 seconds) be a bit more cautious about trading; you can still focus on poking with Q Mystic Shot. Try to push the wave enough to the point where your minions will push automatically and then focus on hitting the enemies instead of pushing since you zoning them away from the wave means you get level 2 first anyways.

As most enchanter matchups you can look to keep the enemies under tower to prevent them from getting CS.

PLAYING AGAINST

Walk up and try to bait the Lulu shield away and when It’s gone then you can freely trade with AA+Q for 8 seconds, when the shield is back up. I don’t recommend trading 1v1 into Lulu if you’re in range of her abilities.

Lulu has a lot of shields and protection so make sure that the enemies don’t get an unexpected shield / ulti Wild Growth from Lulu if you do decide to all-in as you can easily get baited by that and maybe die.

PLAYING WITH

Let her poke with E Lucent Singularity and dump your abilities whenever she roots someone. After 6 you two can oneshot anyone who gets rooted (which can be up to two people) since you both deal insane AoE damage. Never walk up if her Q Light Binding is down since you can get jumped on for free. If you’re going to trade, do it when Lux has her shield available so you can mitigate damage.

Try to time your Q’s to when she throws her E Lucent Singularity since they’ll be slowed making your Q Mystic Shot easier to hit.

PLAYING AGAINST

Keep at least 2 minions between you and her so she can’t land Q Light Binding on you, since it can only hit 2 targets. Try to stand out of range of E Lucent Singularity to not get hit by it and walk up once it’s on cooldown. Mainly you just wait for her to use Q Light Binding if you want to all-in and E/W if you want to trade. Hitting her with your spells should be easy since she’s an immobile mage. Stay as healthy as possible and all-in as soon as you can since she is pretty bad in all-ins if she can’t land/doesn’t have her spells.

PLAYING WITH

Maokai is quite useless Level 1 so don’t expect much help, basically think of the lane as 1v2 unless the enemies walk into his saplings. Worst case scenario you can just fall back to turret and let the enemy get level 2 first but be very careful not to be too far up if they do since they can collapse on you potentially.

His W Twisted Advance can guarantee you hit your own W Essence Flux so you can get pretty good trades with it. Once you guys hit level 6 you have really good all-in potential since the CC lockdown Maokai gets makes it incredibly easy to hit every single one of your spells.

PLAYING AGAINST

Maokai will most likely start his E Sapling Toss in which case all you have to do is stay away from the bushes as he will usually stack a bunch of saplings in the bush waiting for you to walk into it. Be extremely careful walking into the tri bush if you’re leashing.

But I mean as long as you don’t walk into the bushes then Maokai is quite useless until level 3, be cautious of walking into Maokai’s W Twisted Advance range as he’s able to jump ontop of you which can easily lead into you getting all-inned or ganked upon.

PLAYING WITH

Currently I consider Morgana a pretty terrible champion as she doesn’t do much if she doesn’t land Q’s so don’t expect too much of her. Play your own game & worst case scenario don’t die and farm up if she doesn’t land any bindings.

If you can, save your W Essence Flux until she lands a binding so you’re guaranteed to proc it. After 6 wait for the enemies to be stunned if she goes in with ult [soul shackles]] to take advantage of the fact that they’ll be slowed to hit as many Q’s as possible and so you don’t miss your own ult.

PLAYING AGAINST

Morgana’s only offensive ability pre-6 is her Q Dark Binding, which is a very slow projectile and also gets blocked by minions so make sure to stand behind minions as much as possible, basically NEVER walk up outside of minions unless she just Q’d and it’s on cooldown.

Be very careful of the small openings that happen while standing inside the minions wave though as all it takes is 1 Q Dark Binding in order for you to get extremely chunked. If there’s no way to avoid the Q Dark Binding just use your E Arcane Shift, since it’s such a long CC you want to not get hit at all.

PLAYING WITH

You can trade a lot against the enemy as long as you don’t walk past the enemies melee minions and get engaged upon while tanking minions.

Even trades are always worth UNLESS the enemy botlane also has a healing support in which case you have to be a bit more cautious about it.

Once she has her E Ebb and Flow use it to slow them first and then hit your spells on them since it’ll be way easier and they’ll take more damage.

PLAYING AGAINST

You do not want to trade in this lane unless you have shields or a Soraka/ Yuumi. Play off your Q Mystic Shot poke and only do short trades if Nami’s abilites are on cooldown.

Nami’s key disengage & kill pressure ability is her Q Aqua Prison and it’s quite simple to avoid it but be careful so that you don’t mindlessly walk up and get hit by it as you will pretty much always lose the trade if you do. If she misses her Q Aqua Prison you can play pretty aggressively since best thing she could do is slow you.

PLAYING WITH

Play close to him since level one to follow up if he hits a hook. You may not have enough damage so be ready to disengage; do not commit if somehow you managed to miss your Q Mystic Shot once. From level two onwards you can probably burst down anyone Nautilus hooks. After level 6 you should be able to engage on anyone for free with his ult by bursting them down, just wait until the enemy is knocked up to ult so they don’t Flash it.

PLAYING AGAINST

It’s actually very simple to play against Nautilus as his only ability that really ****s you up is his Q Dredge Line but since level 2 it’s no threat at all since you can input buffer your E Arcane Shift and get to safety even if it hit you, just be VERY careful once you use your E Arcane Shift since his Q Dredge Line has a smaller CD; whenever you don’t have E Arcane Shift stand behind minions or your support. If his Q’s on cooldown he’s pretty much useless for 12 seconds until It’s back up so you can trade in that duration.

So there’s only 1 ability to really avoid, but be careful if the enemy ADC has any CC (such as Jhin W) as that can easily setup the Nautilus Q and if you get hit by the hook you’re pretty much doomed, so don’t be afraid to use your E to dodge abilities entirely. Nautilus is also very scary when he’s level 6 as his Ultimate’s a knockup (meaning it isn’t Cleanseable) so there isn’t much counterplay except simply running away to a safe position like the turret or behind teammates; you can also use your E as you’re getting knocked up to cover a greater distance.

PLAYING WITH

Pantheon’s basically not a champion unless he’s in range for his W Shield Vault so it’s very important to not go too deep unless Pantheon’s around to help you out, since he offers nothing if he’s not in melee range.

It’s extremely simple to oneshot the enemies around level 3 when you have W Essence Flux and E Arcane Shift.

Basically, just don’t go too deep if Pantheon’s not there to help you and you’ll be fine

PLAYING AGAINST

I suggest bringing Cleanse against Pantheon as his entire thing is basically jumping on you with his W Shield Vault, stunning you and then proceeding to unload his entire combo on you, which Cleanse prevents. Even if you input buffer your E Arcane Shift on his stun he can hit you with every remaining ability in his kit.

Otherwise, It’s quite simple to play against Pantheon as he has a very one-dimensional kit and can’t do much else except jumping on you. I suggest slowpushing waves as slow as people, stack those waves and play within them as he cant jump on you if there’s a lot of minions.

You can also pretty much trade as much as possible against him as long as he’s not in range for his W Shield Vault. Be cautious of the enemy jungler, so make sure to have vision before going too deep. When you’re fighting against Pantheon try to kite around him as he becomes invulnerable in one direction for around 2 seconds with his E Aegis Assault.

PLAYING WITH

You need to slow push in this lane to make it easier for Pyke to hit hooks; this also allows him to roam if you can’t dive the enemy. At level 1 you guys have pretty good poke damage with your Q’s to soften them up for a level 2 all-in. With this matchup it’s really easy to poke them to death and then finish them off with his ult or just one shot someone.

You guys have pretty good synergy since Pyke can hook them into your ult Trueshot Barrage and follow their flashes with his own R Death from Below.

PLAYING AGAINST

As every hook lane, you shouldn’t be very afraid of his hook since you can input buffer your E Arcane Shift to safety. Be careful against Pyke tho since you’ll still be slowed after. Usually you want to play like a normal ADC inside your minion wave and save your E for when he tries to stun you with his E Phantom Undertow.

Slowpush and stack waves as much as possible since Pyke cant do anything if you’re surrounded by minions. Worst thing you can do is push all the time because then the enemies could freeze and you’ll be in a vulnerable spot.

PLAYING WITH

Rakan has pretty good disengage so don’t commit if you see him go in unless you can kill them. Level 1 try to get some poke with Q Mystic Shot, after level 3 you can get really good trades by using W Essence Flux on whoever Rakan knocks up.

You two have really good synergy for 2 reasons: 1.- Insane disengage since he can dash to you, you E away and then he can dash to you again and 2.- He can group up enemies and CC them with his ult allowing you to hit multiple people with your R Trueshot Barrage.

PLAYING AGAINST

He usually levels W Grand Entrance level 1 so just be mindful of it and don’t get hit. Whenever his W Grand Entrance is on cooldown you shouldn’t be afraid to walk up to auto attack since it’s a relatively long cooldown. After 6 keep your distance since he will constantly look to Flash on you with W Grand Entrance or with ult The Quickness instantly hitting you with all of his CC.

Use your E Arcane Shift to get out if his W Grand Entrance before he knocks you up so you can damage him during the animation.

PLAYING WITH

If she goes in lvl 1 with W Ferromancy - Crash Down / Mount Up just get as much poke as ppossible; if they get really low by letting you poke them while they auto your support you may be able to kill them but you should only look for trades/poke. She might try to all-in level 2 with W Ferromancy - Crash Down / Mount Up and E Attract and Repel so be ready to follow up with your E Arcane Shift on the enemy ADC. After level 6 Rell has so much CC you can win any all-in so long as she lands everything on the ADC and you are healthy enough. Her ult Magnet Storm also pulls people in making it really hard to get away from your R Trueshot Barrage if you use it on Rell.

PLAYING AGAINST

Be super careful of her since lvl 1 since you don’t have any mobility, space away from her W Ferromancy - Crash Down / Mount Up and fight whenever it’s on cooldown, it’s a flat 11 second CD. Be super careful when she mounts up with her second cast of W Ferromancy - Crash Down / Mount Up since she will get a lot of mobility and knock you up with her auto attack. Spacing is really important against Rell, so long you do it correctly you should never die; after level 2 you have your E Arcane Shift as a lifeline, use it on her W Ferromancy - Crash Down / Mount Up if it’s going to hit you, just remember to play around it’s cooldown.

PLAYING WITH

She’s going to try and trade as much as possible so try to trade at the same time as her or put yourself between her and her target so the Q Piercing Darkness heals you as it damages the enemy. Since her passive Absolution slows them use this as a window to hit your Q Mystic Shot, especially if she took Glacial Augment.

PLAYING AGAINST

She wants to trade on you as much as possible so play around your support so you both trade on her when she walks up. Be careful to never get hit for free since she can heal and stack a soul when she AA+Q’s.

PLAYING WITH

She’s quite weak before level 3 and she will probably just poke a little bit with Q High Note or E Beat Drop, so you should play passively until then. Only trade when Seraphine has her shield up so that you take less damage than your opponent.

Take advantage of her E Beat Drop CC to hit your abilities. After level 6 the charm makes it so they walk into your ult Trueshot Barrage if you cast it quick enough.

PLAYING AGAINST

Before level 3 you can dodge her abilities and then walk up to AA+Q her or the ADC as much as possible since Seraphine will deal no damage nor be able to block the damage. After level 3 try to bait the shield or wait until she uses it to trade. Her E Beat Drop is relatively slow so you should not have any problems side stepping it; make sure to not stand next to walls so it’s harder for her to hit it. Use your E Arcane Shift to reposition to safety if either her empowered E Beat Drop or her R Encore is going to hit you.

PLAYING WITH

You have to be prepared to follow the Sett’s engages at all times especially as they can be quite sudden at times since he wants to Flash in a lot. Your job is to follow him and attack the target as fast as possible.
After 6, ult Trueshot Barrage towards where the Sett will land if he ults to never miss it.

PLAYING AGAINST

Be very careful level 1 if you don’t know what ability he has since they usually level E Facebreaker and Flash in on the first wave. If he has W Haymaker or Q Knuckle Down play aggressively and poke him as much as you can. After level 2 you can be okay walking up if your reactions are good enough to input buffer your E Arcane Shift when he pulls you. Remember to not walk up if he has Flash/Hexflash and your E Arcane Shift is in CD.

After level 6 you need to know that you CAN’T input buffer out of Sett R The Show Stopper, he will pull you back into the ult if you try so make sure to never be in range of it.

If you can, try to slowpush so he’s forced under tower where it’s easier to poke him or just reduce the champion interaction

PLAYING WITH

Don’t expect much from Shaco, he isn’t really that useful unless the enemies walk into his boxes or he’s able to Q Deceive into the enemy ADC or something but otherwise you can think of it as a 1v2 when it comes to trading so don’t overextend too deep.

Try to play around his boxes when you fight so he can actually contribute something.

PLAYING AGAINST

Shaco’s quite useless if you purchase the Oracle Lens trinket level 1 so I definitely recommend doing that or having your support do it; basically as you’re entering into the lane use it and then get rid of all of the boxes which pretty much renders him useless.

It’s important to know that as Ezreal you can oneshot his boxes with Q Mystic Shot making him borderline useless.

Be careful not to overextend into their side of the lane as there could be a bunch of boxes lurking there, so make sure to sweep if you’re uncertain.

PLAYING WITH

Try to trade if she uses her Q Hymn of Valor by AA+Qing and play passively until level 6 where you could all-in if she lands a stun and you have enough of an HP advantage. Overall you should focus on farming and scaling alongside her.

After 6 her stun is long enough so that if you ult slightly after her you’ll hit them with them being unable to Flash.

PLAYING AGAINST

Stay out of her Q Hymn of Valor range and then AA+Q her when it’s on cooldown since she has no way of dealing damage. If you ever catch her with your support you can probably blow her up since she’s super squishy and her heal is pretty small.

PLAYING WITH

Play parallel to her so that when she walks up to Q Starcall you can auto attack or hit your Q Mystic Shot for free with the slow if it does. If they have no heals or shields don’t be afraid to trade aggressively since Soraka can heal you back up. You two will be very weak to hard engage so play cautiously if the enemy team has any.

PLAYING AGAINST

Focus mainly on dodging her Q Starcall so she can’t heal and hitting Q Mystic Shot on her over the ADC so that she loses as much health as possible; once she’s in lethal go in so the fight is essentially 1v2 instantly.

Play around whatever engage you have in your team since she’s really weak to it.

PLAYING WITH
Basically, you have to be prepared to trade or engage whenever Swain lands his E Nevermove; if he misses his E Nevermove then back off for 10 seconds until It’s back up as Swain’s practically useless without it.

You have really good trades but mainly you want to play on your side of the lane and counter engage or trade them down to lethal and kill them off Swain’s E Nevermove.

PLAYING AGAINST

There’s one ability that you have to be wary of, Swain’s E Nevermove. It’s not really a problem for Ezreal since you have a lot of range if you space around your Q Mystic Shot. If you’re ever going to get hit by it just input buffer E Arcane Shift so you avoid the test of his abilities. Most Swains will try to E Arcane Shift you whenever you’re about to lasthit a minion so be wary of that.

You should try to bait the Swain E Nevermove as much as possible, and then walk up and trade when it’s on cooldown for 10 seconds as he’s pretty much useless without it, but I would never walk up deep if he has it available.

PLAYING WITH

You will be weak for the first few levels so it’s okay to let yourselves get pushed in until level 3 where you should already be building a slow push to fight as soon as possible. You two will have insane healing off Taric Q Starlight's Touch and your Conqueror so rather than trading you want to play off his stun and get extended fights or all-ins.

The way you should play this lane is ping your Taric to use his E Dazzle so then you E Arcane Shift on top of the enemy ADC and guarantee the stun. If you do this after they use an important ability you should win the fight pretty much every time.

PLAYING AGAINST

You should be fine against Taric as long as you don’t get hit by his E Dazzle but as you have a lot of range and your E at level 2 so he should never be able to hit you. Be cautious about the Taric E Dazzle into Flash though as that can unexpectedly stun you into a collapse, just make sure to always stand out of it and use your E Arcane Shift if he flashes.

Be wary of the fact that Taric has healing so if you have no healing from your support then even trades are really bad to do. Whenever Taric has ult Cosmic Radiance it’s better to try and bait it and then DISENGAGE until It’s gone; if you’re confident that you can kill the enemies before it procs then go for it as it takes 2.5 seconds for the channel to go through.

PLAYING WITH

There’s not much to do until Thresh’s at least level 2 unlocking his ability to Hook – Flay. You want to get really good trades whenever he hooks or flays someone since they either can’t move or are slowed.

After level 6 you can ult into his box to have it hit or blow a Flash, since it’s a 90% slow if they get hit by the walls of his R The Box.

PLAYING AGAINST

It’s important to know which ability Thresh started, and in order to do so press on him and in the top-left corner you’ll see his champion’s HUD and if you see the Flay Icon in there that means he started Flay, if not he started hook.

If he started Flay simply don’t walk into the Flay range (537) so if you’re always at max range when AA’ing he can’t hit you, and if he started with hook then simply stand behind the minions in order to avoid that. Thresh’s pretty weak until he gets his Q-E combo level 2 though so don’t be scared to trade a lot.

It’s very NOT recommend to input buffer your E Arcane Shift on his hook since he can still dash towards you and flay you towards the enemy team or jus lantern someone in, which is worse if he can dash into your whole team, flay mutliple people and cage them with R The Box. Try to play this matchup as you would with any other ADC.

PLAYING WITH

You’ll want to poke the enemies a lot together with your Q Mystic Shot, especially since his Q Plasma Fission slow will make it easier to hit. Be very cautious about moving too forward as Vel'Koz has no peeling for you in case the enemies both jump on you so don’t walk up into the enemy wave.

In this lane you have 3 possible win conditions: poking them to death, poking them until you oneshot them off his E Tectonic Disruption or harass them off the wave under tower. Slowpushing is good with Vel'Koz

PLAYING AGAINST

Try to walk up and bait the Vel'Koz to throw out his Q Plasma Fission ASAP, sidestep if preferably and then you can trade with your Q Mystic Shot for around 6 seconds until it’s back up again.

Generally, this lane’s quite easy as long as you stay behind minions to prevent [Vel'Koz]’s Q Plasma Fission. It’s very important to NEVER get hit by his E Tectonic Disruption as you’ll be knocked up and CC’d which can really hurt you or even kill you; input buffer your E Arcane Shift to dodge it or just use it before it hits you to be able to hit him during his animations.

PLAYING WITH

Play around his W Eye of Destruction slow and his E Shocking Orb stun to get favorable trades since they will most likely not be able to hit you back and it makes it really easy to hit your abilities. Play passive until level 3 since you can just get engaged on; just let him poke with Q Arcanopulse and stay as healthy as possible.

In this lane you have 3 possible win conditions: poking them to death, poking them until you oneshot them off his E Shocking Orb or harass them off the wave under tower. Slowpushing is good with Xerath.

PLAYING AGAINST

Try to stand in max auto range of Xerath while sidestepping so that you can AA+Q him as soon as he misses Q Arcanopulse (or even if he hits it so you can trade some HP, but focus on dodging it). Keep minions between you and him whenever his E Shocking Orb is up so you can’t get stunned. Stay out of W Eye of Destruction range whenever it’s up since he can guarantee all his abilities hit you if you’re slowed. You want to stay as healthy as possible so you can all-in as soon as he misses his E Shocking Orb and W Eye of Destruction.

If you can space away from the ADC, E Arcane Shift forward into the Xerath as he E’s you so that you dump all of your abilities on him while he runs away with his tail between his legs.

PLAYING WITH

The way you wanna play with her is that you want to do short trades as much as possible as she can always heal you up if you do take some trading damage.

Be extremely cautious of getting engaged upon by the enemies support at all times and try to analyze his abilities and how to avoid them in order to quite easily be able to not die allowing you to scale. Input buffering your E Arcane Shift is really strong with Yuumi since your self-peel translates into peeling Yuumi making both of you very slippery and hard to kill.

Scaling, that’s pretty much what Yuumi does as she becomes a beast once you get into mid-late game and thus it’s not necessary to win laning phase and instead simply not dying and getting as much CS & XP as possible is good enough.

PLAYING AGAINST

Stay in the wave level 1 so that Yuumi’s not able to land her Q Prowling Projectile on you as it deals quite a bit of damage, and it also slows you which makes it easy for the enemy ADC to get in range to damage you. If she starts with E Zoomies just poke the ADC down with Q Prowling Projectile to waste Yuumi’s mana.

However, be careful about taking even trades unless your support can also heal you as Yuumi can heal her ADC quite a bit, even trades meaning that you deal and take around the same amount of damage.

PLAYING WITH

Be careful as Zilean doesn’t do much except dealing some poke damage with his Q Time Bomb so DONT walk up too deep, simply poke with Q Mystic Shot. Just be careful so that you don’t walk up past their melee minions and / or get engaged on by the enemy support.

However, when Zilean is level 2 he’s a bit stronger as he’s able to stun the enemy by landing Q into Q which is a small window for you to walk up and trade a bit but it’s going to be hard to all-in unless the enemy is overextended or already low HP prior to the engage.

Generally, Zilean’s a scaling champion, his early game isn’t all that great but he becomes a nice support in mid-game with all the movement speed, zoning with his Q Time Bomb as well as the amazing revive with his R Chronoshift. I wouldn’t say that you should trust Zilean 100% to R Chronoshift you though.

PLAYING AGAINST

Try to walk up level 1 & bait the Zilean Q Time Bomb as soon as possible, and then try to sidestep into hitting the enemy with your Q Mystic Shot for a solid 8 seconds before it’s back up again.

It’s quite easy to all-in together with your support as Zilean’s pretty much useless if he doesn’t hit his Q’s on you since he’s really squishy.

You pretty much only need to avoid 1 of the Zilean Q’s as he’s not able to stun you unless he lands both of them, so it’s very common to sidestep Zilean Q Time Bomb and then all-in right after.

Take in mind that if you’re inside the explosion zone of his Q Time Bomb and he lands the bombs on your support or a minion you will still get stunned, use your E Arcane Shift to avoid this.

PLAYING WITH

Try to play around Zyra’s plants as they deal a lot of damage if left unattended. If Zyra lands her E Grasping Roots on the enemies then you can walk up and trade / fight but if she misses it then back off and play defensive for 12 seconds until It’s back up.

The plants that spawn off Zyra’s E Grasping Roots will apply a slow, take advantage of this to hit your Q Mystic Shot on the enemy botlane.

Cast your ult Trueshot Barrage as the enemies are getting knocked up by her ult Stranglethorns so they can’t dodge it with Flash or mobility abilities.

PLAYING AGAINST

Zyra will be looking to spawn multiple plants to poke you and your support down; luckily for you, your Q Mystic Shot will oneshot her plants and 2 autos will kill a plant, so if both you and your support instantly kill a plant and you Q Mystic Shot the other one she will have no damage. Try to step on her blossoms too so she can’t bring a plant up. If doing this makes her Flash + E Grasping Roots or just E Grasping Roots simply E Arcane Shift away.

Take in mind that the plants spawned or buffed by her R Stranglethorns will take two Q’s to kill.

Zyra’s main fighting ability is her E Grasping Roots which roots & deals damage so as long as she’s not able to land that on you, fighting her shouldn’t be hard as she doesn’t have that much damage until level 6, especially because she’s a weak champ in the current patch.

If you’re playing against a lot of CC besides Zyra I recommend going Cleanse as that’ll make it A LOT harder for their botlane to kill you since you can just cleanse the CC, because Zyra’s main way of killing you is CCing you with her E Grasping Roots into R Stranglethorns.
