Introduction
Also, i always mid lane Mundo.
(my first guide)
Standard Build -
First i start off with a health crystal, i think of hp as an essential factor in the early game, especially on someone who is supposed to be a tank or off tank. Shortly afterwards, i grab a boots of speed, and then finish the spirit visage i started out building with the health crystal. If i lack the money then i buy a Kindlegem, then finish off the Spirit Visage.
After finishing those two items, the earlygame is pretty much over and i start building my Warmogs by starting on the recipe with a Giant's Belt. I either finish the Warmogs directly, or i start building the Sunfire Cape and then finish the Warmogs. Either way, Finish the Warmogs first, then follow up with a Sunfire Cape or a Starks Fervor depending on which route you want to go at first, DPS or Tank. Follow that next item up with the one that you have not made yet, (If you built starks, build a Sunfire now), then hit up your last Warmogs.
Now you're a god among the league goers.
TLDR
Boots of Swiftness (I didnt state this above, but merc treads are always an option too.)

Warmogs
Starks Fervor

For my runes:
9x Greater Marks of Desolation
- I use this because i am a very aggressive player, and with masochism this lets me hit like a brick not only in late game, but after level two too, desolation just adds onto the bricking power.
9x Greater Seal of Vigor
- Self Explanatory, Mundo can be a main tank or non tank, and health regen stacks with his role.
9x Greater Glyph of Celerity
- I chose greater glyphs of celerity because mainly, you want to fill the air with cleavers, all the time!
3x Greater Quintessence of Fortitude
- Simple, your role is as a tank or off tank, just stacks with your role.
For my Masteries, i pretty much tend to be an aggressive player, so most of my points are into offensive, mainly for the magic penetration to help with the cleaver. (Yes its magic damage.) While putting the other points into Defensive, for the heal bonus, and Utility for the teleport bonus and extra XP.

Personal Preference:
Teleport- Lets me get across the map quickly, map control is always a plus in my opinion. On top of that, it also lets you get back to your lane after buying items or dieing asap.
Heal- It can be a life saver.
Good Ones:
Ignite- Helps you finish off that pesky Yi or Nidalee who try and heal after an engagement, a very good change if you dont really like my preference.
Clairvoyance- Helps with map control, nuff said.
Cleanse- TANK MUNDO GOOD, remember to change masteries accordingly though.
Bad Ones:
everything else.
