Welcome to my first guide. This guide on Varus will show you how to build him up to be an amazing well balanced AD carry. Although, you can build AP on Varus this guide will only show his AD build till I find out an AP build that works with Varus.Varus is a long range champion that can deal larges amounts of burst damage with his abilities or sustained dps with his auto attacks.

PROS:
-High Burst DMG
-High DPS
-Good CC
-Long range Q skill

CONS:
-Low Health
-No "real" escape tools
-Easily bursted down

The items i use in this build and thier order is made to scale with the game. The main disadvantage with this build is that when you get your core items you will be stuck not being able to buy much of anything else till you have enough gold to complete a recipe for that item. Many people will ask, "Why dont you buy any magic resist or armor?. I get Frozen Mallet instead because of my runes. They make up for an item that will only increase sustainability. Frozen Mallet will give me more health and also give me slows to my auto attacks allowing me to easily land skill-shots an chase more effectively. Although not mentioned above you can get a Phage after you get a Zeal. This will give you a strong mid game with more survivability and an added slow to pick off everyone who runs away. You can also replace the Pickaxe for a B.F. Sword. This could stregthen you early game but will take longer to grab your core build before moving on to the bigger items. Lastly if you feel that you are doing more damage with your Q than your auto attacks then get Blodthirster first rather than Infinity Edge. This will give you more damage and leave you with more room in your inventory but if you are not maintaining stacks this decision will hinder your progress.

Using Varus effectively is mastered by knowing how to land your skill-shots.
In early game aggressive players will want to land their auto attacks to their cap and then release a piercing arrow to trigger the stacks. Passive players will want to use the piercing arrow as much as possible without auto attacking but must make sure they charge it all the way to deal maximum damage.
Your basic role in a team-fight can is to use your ult after initiation or to initiate a team-fight then pick off weak targets. When your ultimate ends on an enemy land your E skill. They should have some stacks on the enemy that will explode for some DMG. Then land more basic attacks on the enemy to prepare for your piercing arrow. If you can try to position your arrow on the most enemies as possible while still hitting the enemy you have your stacks on.
A special trick with Varus is that when you have 3 stacks on an enemy you can use your e skill and quickly auto attack to detonate 4 stacks instead of 3.

This guide has shown you many of the basic ways to use Varus. I only tell you the basics because everyone plays differently and for this guide to be easily understood with little reading as possible(still a bit to much for most people and congrats if you read to this point). You may agree and disagree with all or none of my decisions. In the right hands, Varus can decimate opponents from afar or up close with his burst damage.
