The items on Riven are supposed to be mainly AD for more damage on your abilities, but your probably thinking then why get the Trinity Force?? Well the main and most important reason you want the trinity force is for the passive on the sheen. The sheen part of the trinity force is to add more dps to your abilities and or auto attacks.
