Update! [S11] Twisted Man Goes Jungle - A Twisted Fate Jungl

By NarwhalMetrics
Introduction
Hello there summoners, my name is NarwhalMetrics. I have been playing Twisted Fate jungle for some time now, and it is very fun. Despite being weak early in the game, late game is enjoyable as you will be able to use Destiny to gank any lane easily. In this guide I will show you how to play jungle using Twisted Fate attack speed and Twisted Fate movement speed builds. This is my first in-depth guide, and if you enjoy, please give vote.

P.S. This update made the movement speed build very good, I suggest trying it.
Twisted Fate Jungle?
Twisted Fate, the Card Master
Twisted Fate is commonly played in the middle lane, and sometimes the bottom lane. However due to his CC and mana regen with Pick A Card and teleporting with Destiny, playing him in the jungle can be done. Early game can be difficult, especially for less experienced players. Playing as Twisted Fate jungle can also be difficult if the enemy jungle decides to invade, but getting fed and winning the jungle is very rewarding.
Pros / Cons
PROS
+ Good CC
+ High attack speed OR high movement speed
+ Easy ganks
+ Mana regen
+ Can easily steal drakes and buffs

Twisted Fate's abilities can make it very easy for him to clear jungle camps, minion waves, and make sucesful ganks. Mana can be regained using the blue card from Pick A Card Destiny and the yellow and red cards from Pick A Cardcan make for easy ganks after level 6, but Twisted Fate can still gank early as long as the friendly laner is willing to commit to going in. Late game will be easier as you will be able to clear jungle camps and minion waves quicker. Wild Cards can be used to poke the enemy, and will allow you to gain easy assists on ally kills.
CONS
- Squishy
- Weak early game
- Needs to use abilities and items to do damage
- Needs longer leash
- Long cooldown on Destiny

Twisted Fate is very squishy and should not have the enemy teams's attacks focused on him. He is extremely week early game and will need a longer leash than other junglers. Basic attacks do little damage unless you buy items. Items are very important for Twisted Fate jungle. Using the movement speed build will allow you to catch the enemy off guard when you speed into their lane, but in the attack speed build you will need to rely more on your ultimate to gank. However, Destiny has a 180/150/120/ cooldown based on level which is one of the longest cooldowns in the game.
Abilities

Upon killing a unit, Twisted Fate rolls his 'lucky' dice receiving anywhere between 1 and 6 bonus gold.

Twisted Fate throws three cards, dealing damage to each enemy unit they pass through.

Twisted Fate chooses a magic card from his deck, and uses that for his next attack, causing bonus effects.

Every 4 attacks, Twisted Fate deals bonus damage. In addition, his Attack Speed is increased.

Twisted Fate predicts the fortunes of his foes, revealing all enemy champions and enabling the use of Gate, which teleports Twisted Fate to any target location in 1.5 seconds./columns]
Summoner Spells

SUMMONER SPELLS
-
FLASH:Flash is one of the most useful spells to help you escape the enemy, or sometimes catch the enemy. When playing Twisted Fate jungle you sometimes may not be ready to fight the enemy, and flash will help you get to under turret or over a wall quick and easily.
SMITE: Simte helps junglers clear camps and regain health. It is very important to take smite on Twisted Fate jungle. Early game is when you will use it the most so you dont get executed by your jungle camps.
Runes - Movement Speed Build

PREDATOR

Predator
Twisted Fate will gain massive amounts of speed when activating the boots with this rune. You will be able to speed into a lane to attack and stun the enemy before he can react.

CHEAP SHOT

Cheap Shot
Combos well with yellow and red card allowing you to do true damage.

EYEBALL COLLECTION

Eyeball Collection
Gaining eyeball stacks will grant Twisted Fate even more ability power. This extra damage may make you win the fight, and all your abilities scale off of ability power.

ULTIMATE HUNTER

Ultimate Hunter
Destiny has a long cooldown of 180 secounds when your first get it. This rune will give you bounty hunter stacks on takedowns on enemy champions which grant an extra 4% ult cooldown reduction, along with the base 5% ult cooldown reduction.

WATERWALKING

Waterwalking
Because you are playing jungle, you will be spending some time on the river. Waterwalking will increase your speed while on the river which will come in handy if you are trying to get to a lane faster or if your are escaping the enemy.

CELERITY

Celerity
This just gives you even more speed. You will be able to run as fast as Rammus and Hecarim. If you are in trouble you can just stun wil your yellow card and run.
The less time you spend waiting for your abilities to come up the better.
-
Armor.
-
Magic resist.
Items

LETHAL TEMPO

Lethal Tempo
Lethal Tempo will increase your attack speed when attacking an enemy champion. This along with the items you will build will make it easy for Stacked Deck to trigger multiple times.

OVERHEAL

Overheal
The shield from excess healing will work well with Twisted Fate jungle as he is squishy. This small shield could save your life during a battle.

LEGEND: ALACRITY

Legend: Alacrity
This will give you even more attack speed. You will be able to throw cards at the speed of light.

CUT DOWN

Cut Down
Twisted Fate jungle is very squishy and will most likley have lass health then most other people on the enemy team. This means that you will be able to do more damage to them with Cut Down.

CHEAP SHOT

Cheap Shot
Pick A Card works well with Cheap Shot. Your yellow card stuns the enemy and your red card slows the enemy. After you hit them with one of those cards, you will be able to deal some bonus true damage.

EYEBALL COLLECTION

Eyeball Collection
Eyball stacks will grant you more attack damage which will hopefully allow you to kill the enemy before it kills you.
More attack speed.
-
Magic resist.
-
More health.
Runes - Attack Speed
Movement Speed
Hailblade
Hailblade gives you Chilling Smite, which when used allows you to steal 20% movemnt speed.
Refillable Potion
Most junglers take this health potion because it refills when you go back to base. As TF jungle you will use this items many times throughout the first half of the game.
Boots Of Switness
The speed is key to this build. You can't have anyone outrunning you. That would be unaccaptable.
Banshee's Veil
Will hopelly protect you from being one shot by enemy ***ians.
Lich Bane
Large amount of ability power and some movement speed, passive is also decent.
Zhonya's Hourglass
Will be helpfull when you are low health during team fights, our you are about to get murdered by someone with an execute.
Cosmic Drive
Ability power, health, and bonus movment speed all wrapped into one. This item is key to your success.
Demonic Embrace
Just another item that makes your slightly more tanky while giving the AP.
Rabadon's Deathcap
Huge Ability Power boost. Big damage incoming.
Luden's Tempest
This mythic item will allow you to deal large amounts of damage, perfect for making your Pick A Card one shot.
Imperial Mandate
Just another mythic option. Works really well when ganking with Pick A Card.

Attack Speed
Emberkinfe
Allows you to take challenging smite which will allow you to do extra damage to enemy champions that you smite.
Refillable Potion
Most junglers take this health potion because it refills when you go back to base. As TF jungle you will use this items many times throughout the first half of the game.
Bereserker's Greaves
Cheap attack speed with some movemnt speed thrown in.
Guinsoo's Rageblade
All around good attack speed plus crit chance item.
Runaan's Hurricane
Can help you clear camps and waves quickly. May be helpful for split pushing lanes.
Rapid Firecannon
Energizes your attacks so you do more damage. Perfect item for attack speed Twisted Fate.
Guinsoo's Rageblade
Unfortantly, you become very easy to kill late game. In fights you will escape with little health which means you would have to recall, which wastes time. This item will allow you to heal up again quickly inbetween fights.
Phantom Dancer
A common item that most ADCs build, this item gives you attack speed, crit chance, and some movement speed, much like Guinsoo's Rageblade
Kraken Slayer
One of the best mythic items there is. Every third attack does bonus true damage on hit, and, well, when your attack speed is 2.5...
Matchups
Graves can be a difficlut match up if he decieds to invade early game. You need to keep your distance from him, he has a shorter range than you. However, dodging his smoke screen is very timportant as if you lose isght of him. you will be in trouble. Graves is a common jungle pick so you should figure out your favorite way to beat him in the game. You should be able to stay above in CS, but Graves will be making more frequent ganks.

Elise is not that hard to play against. You need to dodge her stun and try not to get hit by any other CC. You will be able to beat her in a 1v1, however she will be able to get away with her reppel if you don't stop her.

Zac is mostly a melee champion. All you need to do to beat him is keep your distance. He might be a little harder to take down because of his extra health, but if you can keep throwing yellow cards from Pick A Card at him, you limit his ability to do things. Taking out his blobs from his Cell Division isn't that difficult either. If you see him loading up to slingshot himself with his ability Elastic Slingshot, just stun him and you and your team will be fine.

Trundle may be a problem. he has more health than you and he has slowing CC. If you build movement speed, you can probably get away from him. The best way to beat him is to stay off of his Frozen Domain. If he uses his ultimate, Subjugate on you, you should porbably leave the fight untill the effects wear off.

Ekko is a very difficult match up. Depending on what he builds, he can do massive amounts of damage. His Phase Dive and Parallel Convergence combocan happen quickly if you are not careful. After level 6, he becomes extremely dangerous. Even if you get him to low health, which migh cost you some of your health, he will just use Chronobreak and go back in time to when he has more health.

Kayn can be difficult to play against because he can come over walls without any warning. If he gets fed early game, it is hard to defeat him. Your best bet is to dodge his Reaping Slash and Blade's Reach. Because you are squishy, he may be able to kill you very quickly.

Rek'Sai should not be a big problem if you run into her. Just keep your distance so she can't use Queen's Wrath. If you see her burrowing towards you, pull a yellow card from Pick A Card and get ready to use it as soon as she un-burrows.

Without a doubt, Lee Sin is very dangerous to Twisted Fate. A good Lee Sin will Sonic Wave over a wall, and if you get hit by this you may be dead. Lee Sin does a lot of damage to someone like Twisted Fate so you must dodge Sonic Wave at all costs. Lee Sin should be someone you consider banning.

Fiddlesticks is one of the easiest matchups because he has about the same amount of health as you. Even if he uses Bountiful Harvest on you, you can still attack and do more damage than he can heal. You can also use the yellow card from Pick A Card to stun him and cancle his ability. Just watch out for Crowstorm which could kill you if you are in it too long.

Probably the worst champion to go against. If she is smart, she will invade and make sure you die evry single time you meet her. Even if you survive early game, late game will be awful as Shyvana will have a lot of health and do tons of damage. She might be able to one shot you. I almost always ban Shyvana because it is no fun getting constantly killed by her.

Karthus is slower then you, so you should be able to out run him. Dodging Lay Waste is not hard either. You should be able to defeat him in a 1v1 because he does not have much health either. Requiem might be a problem if you are low health though.

Olaf counters Twisted Fate because of Ragnarok which makes him immune to anny effect of Pick A Card. He also gains speed, and combined with his other abilities, he can kill you easily.

Shaco usually doesn't have that much more health then you. He is really easy to play against as long as you are aware of your surroundings. Try to remember where Jack In The Box are placed so you don't run over them. You can buy a Oracle Lens to sweep for the boxes. If Shaco uses Deceive, back off a bit and pull a yellow card to get ready to stun him. He will probably try to get behind you to use his passive Backstab.

Wukong jungle is supper annoying to play against. Nine times out of ten, he will decide to invade your jungle, and it's really hard to do anything about it. His Warrior Trickster and Nimbus Strike make it really hard to tell who is the real one and who is the copy. Also, being able to use Cyclone more then once makes him really good.

Any champion who can go invisible is a threat to Twisted Fate. Hate Spike can do a lot of damage, but only if she gets in a close range of you. The best thing to do when you see her use Allure is to make a yellow card ready to throw.

Not too hard to play against. She is easy to kill, but you need to dodge her spear.

Being ranged and having better movement then Volibear gives you your best chance of winning against him. He has loads of more health then you, and can also get a large shield. Try to dodge his ability Sky Splitter.

Probably your best defense against him is your yellow card. Rammus will be speeding around so you will have to be ready to pull your card. Stay at a distance so he can't Frenzying Taunt you. Remember not to use your attack speed against him when he is in his Defensive Ball Curl.

Vi is a very aggressive jungler and will probably invade and take you jungle camps anytime she can. She has alot of health but also does alot of damage which makes jungleing against her difficult.

More matchups coming soon!
Jungle Path
This is just a suggested jungle path that I use when i play Twisted Fate jungle. I will start on red buff on both sides of the map. Ask whoever is giving a leash to stay a little longer and get it down to lower health so you don't have to smite. Next, go take Krugs, and use a health potion and smite to clear them faster and regain health. You now have the option to get a very early gank in on top or bot, depending on which side you are on. Look to see what health your team is and what health they are. If you decide not to gank, go take the scuttle that is in the river quickly then recall, as you will not have enough health to take another camp. Buy a basic item that builds into your mythic then go take raptors. Of course, you can gank mid if you would like and if it safe to do so. Clear all your camps on the other side of mid lane and take that scuttle as well, if it is still there. Remember to ward. From here on out, you can take jungle camps, do ganks, invade if you would like, and try to get drakes and the rift herald.
