Hey, first of all nice Guide! I love it... So much details and still simple. I want to ask or suggest if you could add like an who to ban list. Or which are the hardest machups. I am new to the Game and i want to start main Ekko, and a little tip who to ban would be awsome! (;

Greetings & a good day sir!

Thanks for the positive feedback! I've now added a few hard champions under "Vs. Champions".

Hey just wondering if it's okay to go luden's first and precision tree second for extra ease of waveclear in the early game. I feel that going precision makes assassination a lot "smoother".

Oh yes, going for Luden's Echo first is okay too. Whats better about it compared to Gunblade is that you have less mana problems and the 10% CDR. The two downsides of not going Hextech Gunblade is that you will lose the huge sustain it gives, and you have less Damage early on.
Im not sure about the precision tree, but i think its okay because of the attack speed and if you go for Coup de Grace, thats why it probably feels "smoother".
But i mean, my guide just features one of a few other Ekko Builds, so if you feel more confident on Luden's and the Precision Tree, i won't stop you to do so.

Just wanted to let you know you are missing a secondary rune. You only have 1 of the 2 shown.

I ve started playing Ekko and this guide has helped me a lot, but may i ask one question? wouldn't it be better to chose Hextech Protobelt-01 over the Hextech Blade? And when not, why?

First of all, thanks for the feedback :)

So, the everlasting question between Protbelt-01 and Gunblade. There are two simple answers to that question.
The first is basically personal preference. Which Item of the two feels better to you, when it comes to the item active, build path etc. (I obviously like Gunblade more)

The second answer is what you need and want. You should build Gunblade in situations where you are ahead. Building Hextech Gunblade when behind is really bad compared to Protobelt. Why?
1. Because the 1500 Gold you have to spend on the Bilgewater Cutlass is wasted and makes your early game worse because you cannot use the AD and Lifesteal it gives and
2. Because it costs about 1000 Gold more than Hextech Protobelt-01., it's pretty expensive.

So - Choose what when?
Hextech Gunblade: When you are either ahead or you really need that extra burst (for exmaple when they have a Janna or Lulu.

Protobelt: Go-to Item when you are not that ahead and if you need the utility it gives with its stats.

Glad there's finally an up-to-date guide about Ekko again.
It feels like he's been receiving very little attention lately!
Way to go!

I'm thinking of picking up Ekko again for some training. Will check the guide since it's been too long. Is he viable only in mid now? I used to pick him jungle.

Not only mid-lane, going jungle with him is just as good too. A few patches ago they buffed his passive to deal doubled damage vs large monsters. So early jungling became a lot easier (especially on raptors). I won't recommend top if you want to play him tanky, they nerfed his base damages on his abilities too hard to be viable top lane.

Alright, that's not a problem for me, I only wanted to play him mid or jungle. Thank you for the feedback.

Thanks for this. Been maining ekko for awhile but hadn't updated items in a bit. I noticed a LOT of bursty champs using hextech gunblade lately and always doing good with it, and i was just thinking of trying it with ekko when i found this guide. It's definitelya great choice.

One question. How viable is the abyssal mask? ive never really used it but I also feel like i run out of mana really fast and it might help? how soon in games do you start building into it?

Hi there, thanks for your great response!

Mana problems is something Ekko always has in some sort of "I use my Timewinder 5 times and i'm out of mana", so an early mana crystal for sheen really helps out to fix that.
Abyssal mask became even more viable due to the changes on it's passive (+5% magic dmg). The radious became smaller for Ekko that does matter, because he is melee anyways, i mean, you get Health, Magic Resist and the 15% more Magic DMG passive.

I build Abyssal Mask as my 6th and last Item. The reason for that is that Ekko is shining in the Mid Game, this is where he feels the best. At this time of the Game, you want to have as much Damage Items as possible, so you truly get to full potential out of Ekko. Building Abyssal Mask earlier slows down the 3 Item Power Spike Ekko has with Gunblade, Lich Bane and Void Staff.

Unless you really had a bad early Game, but one of the other carrys on your team is fed, i do not suggest building abyssal mask as 4th or 5th item. You want to snowball with Ekko!

Thanks for the info. Usually the mana crystal is my first buy, and then sheen because it would build into lich bane, but now that i'm trying the gunbelt i'm not sure the mana is ideal. I was looking at other sites and they all seem to suggest using the hextech protobelt instead.. i've never used that on ekko though. do you have any thoughts about that?

NICE GUIDE! I just got one question though. How would u define "heavy"?

Thanks for the feedback!

I would define "heavy" as something that weighs much or if something is hard (e.g. a heavy job)
