[Season 12] Nautilus Jungle Guide

Intro

I love Nautilus. When I saw that he was getting the jungle buffs I almost died. I played it a few times and then forgot about it. Then a friend of mine started to play it again. So I thought I would make a guide so more people will play it. He is very fun and has a lot of team fighting potential.

Passive
Ability
STAGGERING BLOW (Passive): This Your passive is works perfectly with your Dredge Line(Q). When you first auto someone they will get stunned. This also dose more damage which can when clearing camps.
Q
DREDGE LINE (Q): This is Nautilus's main ability that works with his kit very smoothly and is known for having a stupid hitbox. If you hit this late game there is almost a 100% chance they will be dead.
W
TITAN'S WRATH (W): This makes your jungle clear a lot easier, the AOE that it gives is generally a great benefit. When activated it also gives a shield which can help make you survive longer in fights.
E
RIPTIDE (E):When going full Ap this is wear a fair bit of your damage comes from. When going tank its used for its slow and good jungle clear.
R
DEPTH CHARGE (R): When used properally this can CC the whole enemy team. Going Ap makes it deal a lot of damage and can win you team if used perfectly.



RESOLVE
This is the only rune you can run on Nautilus jungle because the others suck. First off Guardian is horrible in the jungle and is only helpful when ganking others. Same with Grasp of the Undying it does not work in the jungle. Aftershock is just better because of the damage and armor.
Running Shield Bash is important because of your Titan's Wrath(W). This will help in your early clear and is just generally a good rune. You can also go Font of Life because of almost every ability including your passive probe this. The healing will help your teammates a lot.
Bone Plating is one of the best runes in the game because it can help a lot into high poke champs likes Ezreal and Aatrox. You can go Second Wind and Conditioning as well if you want some healing or more armor.
You can go Overgrowth or Unflinching it's just based on the enemy team. If they have a lot of CC and you think it will be a problem run Unflinching. If you think you can win and just want to be stronger go Overgrowth. Revitalize you can not run because you have no healing in your kit.

Sorcery
You can run Celerity because you run Waterwalking. If you do not run this rune you can run Transcendence and Absolute Focus. These increase your ability haste or more damage.
This is a nice rune because it helps when going into the river. It can help with getting to the scuttle and team fights faster. You can run Gathering Storm if you want more damage and not speed.
These are the basic mini runes because of the attack speed and damage. You can go two damage but I like the attack speed because of your auto passive. The armor is good too.

Nautilus has one of the longest CC chains. When going full Ap you deal a lot of burst damage. If you go full tank you will never die because of your high armor and magic resistance. You also have one of the best engage and CC in the game. He also goes into the late game when going full Ap or full tank.
CONS
- Need your hook
- Will get poked out
- Needs items
- True damage
- Can be caught out easly
When playing Nautilus you need to have your hook to engage. You will also get poked out if you don't have your hook to disengage. This also means you can get caught out very easily. Items are also important because nautilus early is very weak. One of your biggest problems is true damage, if you are fighting Vayne and Sett you will get melted like an ADC.

When to Gank
Nautilus is a very strong ganker and can gank almost anyone in the game. When going to gank try to play around minions so you can hit your hook. When going top lane you can fight relatively anyone. I would be careful into a team fighting champs like Illaoi and Mordekaiser because of their level 6 power spikes. Also, true damage is a big problem so people like Gwen and Sett will melt you very quickly. Going mid is very easy to gank. Most mid laner do not have enough mobility to stop your ganks. The only thing that will hurt you are high CC people like Veigar and Anivia. Bot lane is very easy to gank because you have two targets to hit with your hoot. Also, ADC's have very low health, armor, and magic residence. If they have a Vayne I would stay away from the bot lane.

Level 6 Ganking
When you hit level 6 your ganks become very easy. When you use your ultimate it's a free hook. If it's a free hook you can also use it the other way. If you can use your Ultimate correctly you can hit multiple people.


Team Fighting
Nautilus has two ways to play his team fights. These playstyles are based on what runes you items you build. If you go Full tank you will play it just like support. Try to tank all the damage and pray that they don't have true damage champs like Sett and Vayne. When going full Ap you want to go for picks by killing their weaker people who have very little health and magic resistance. In both play
styles, you want to be in their face dealing a lot of damage or tanking everything.


FULL AP ITEMS
1.Hextech Rocketbelt
You need to get into the enemy team so having a dash on your mythic is very powerful. This also gives Magic Pen which is never a bad thing. the **** load of AP is also good.
2.Zhonya's Hourglass
This has one of the best actives on an item. When u want you go imortal but you cant do anything. You also get armor so this is just a generally good item.
3.Demonic Embrace
This gives you alot Hp for a magic damage item. Also gives you a mini Liandry's Anguish which can help with getting kills which would have gotten away.
4.Lich Bane
This works so well its almost like they wanted you to go Ap Nautilus. Your basic combo, Hook into Auto, works perfectly with it. It also gives move speed which is very nice.
5.Rabadon's Deathcap
I like Damage. I like Damage. I like Damage. I like Damage. I like Damage. I like Damage. I like Damage. I like Damage. I like Damage. I like Damage. I really like Damage.

BOOTS

2.Plated Steelcaps
If you are fighting a heavy AD team or there is a fed AD god going these boots can safe you or let you live a little bit longer
2.Mercury's Treads
If you are fighting a heavy AP team or there is a fed AP god going these boots can safe you or let you live a little bit longer


ITEMS
1.Evenshroud
This is the one of the most resent items added to league and it is very good on tanks like Nautilus or Alistar. This is a cheap mythic that was the same item passive as old Abyssal Mask but better.
2.Demonic Embrace
This gives you alot Hp for a magic damage item. Also gives you a mini Liandry's Anguish which can help with getting kills which would have gotten away.
3.Thornmail
Building this has alot of beninfits. First it has armor which can help into most top laners. Also reduses lifesteal so poeple like Aatrox and Rengar can not heal as much.
4.Abyssal Mask
You are supposed to be a tank support so you have alot of CC. This item make you do more damage if you CC, so this works very well together. Also gives Magic resist which is helpful into champs like Kennen and Gwen.
5.Dead Man's Plate
This item is optional becuse if they have alot of Ap you can go magic resistance items. There are other thing you can build that work but i put this items becuse of the speed. I love this items you its a good last item.

BOOTS
2.Plated Steelcaps
If you are fighting a heavy AD team or there is a fed AD god going these boots can safe you or let you live a little bit longer
2.Mercury's Treads
If you are fighting a heavy AP team or there is a fed AP god going these boots can safe you or let you live a little bit longer

In Conclusion
This is a fun build that works very well. You can be a monster of the tank that no one can hurt. You can also have so much damage that you can make the whole team can cry.
