Zyra is one of the toughest matchups for Ivern. She has one of the fastest jungle clears in the game thanks to her plants constantly dealing damage, which makes it difficult for Ivern to contest early objectives or invade safely. On top of that, Zyra’s plants can block Ivern’s Q (Rootcaller), making it unreliable to land engages or peel for allies. Her zone control and burst poke also punish Ivern’s weak early skirmishing, forcing him to play defensive. If Zyra gains early prio, she can choke Ivern out of the map before he scales into a supportive mid-game.
Naafiri
Naafiri is a very tough matchup for Ivern because her kit directly interferes with his tools. Her packmates can block Ivern’s Q (Rootcaller), which makes it much harder to land engages or peel for allies, since the ability often hits the daggers first. On top of that, Naafiri becomes untargetable during her W dash (Hound’s Pursuit), letting her ignore peel and stick to priority targets with ease. Because Ivern is weak in direct duels, Naafiri’s burst and reliable gap-close force him to play extremely safe and if she gets ahead, she can completely shut Ivern out of the map.
To make things even worse, Serpent’s Fang is a very popular item into Ivern, and it fits naturally into many lethality Naafiri builds. This heavily reduces the value of Ivern’s shields, making it even harder for him to protect his carries in fights.
Zed
Zed is an extremely dangerous matchup for Ivern mainly because of his clear speed and counter-jungle pressure. Zed can full clear very quickly and use that tempo to invade Ivern’s jungle, where Ivern struggles to duel him early on. Landing Rootcaller (Q) is also very unreliable in this matchup, because Zed can simply dodge it with Death Mark and then run Ivern down before returning safely to his shadow. This makes it nearly impossible for Ivern to peel or disengage once Zed commits. On top of that, Ivern absolutely must dodge Zed’s shurikens, getting hit by the full combo is often lethal, even through shields. Serpent’s Fang is also a strong item on Zed into Ivern, reducing his shielding and making Ivern’s utility far less effective in teamfights.
Kindred
Kindred is a really difficult matchup for Ivern. She can perma-invade your jungle, kite you with autos, and poke with Q + E, making early trades and counter-ganks risky. You will always need Smite to secure objectives and punish her resets.
Proper vision and bush usage are key, use your bushes to block her auto-attacks and force her to overextend. Daisy and slows can punish mistakes, but Kindred excels at kiting and safe damage if you’re not careful.
Overall, this is a very difficult matchup, requiring careful early play, smart jungle pathing, and map awareness to survive and scale effectively.
Nidalee
Nidalee is probably one of the hardest matchups for Ivern in high elo, but easy in low elo. A skilled Nidalee can perma-invade your jungle, poke with spears, and dodge Rootcaller (Q) with ease, making early jungle control very challenging.
Fortunately, Nidalee is a skill-based champion, so in low elo Ivern can usually outscale her easily with shields, Daisy, and teamfight utility. The matchup revolves around vision, counter-ganking, and careful positioning, if you survive early pressure, Ivern becomes far stronger in mid-to-late game fights.
Overall, this is a difficult matchup at high elo, but relatively easy in low elo.
Jarvan IV
Lethality Jarvan is a very difficult matchup for Ivern because of his insane tempo, burst damage, and mobility. Jarvan’s lethality build gives him extremely fast clears and enough damage to effectively one-shot squishy targets, while still being able to freely engage with EQ from long range. The only real counterplay to Cataclysm is flashing the ultimate instantly to avoid the full burst , but lethality Jarvan often runs Axiom Arc, meaning his ult comes back very quickly anyway. This allows him to repeatedly force fights and punish Ivern’s lack of dueling power, making it extremely risky for Ivern to contest objectives or move alone in his own jungle.
Talon
Talon is a dangerous matchup for Ivern once he completes two core items. Before that point, Ivern has the advantage in duels and jungle pressure. After two items, Talon can perma-invade Ivern, bursting him down and jumping out repeatedly with Assassin’s Path, especially near walls. The key for Ivern is to counter-gank Talon effectively, but you need to be careful: if Talon is near walls, he can use them to escape instantly, making trades risky. Timing and vision control are crucial to shut him down before he snowballs.
Qiyana
Qiyana is a major threat for Ivern, mainly because of her mobility and invade potential. She can easily jump into Ivern’s jungle, steal camps, and dodge crowd control with E (Audacity) and R (Supreme Display of Talent), making it very hard to lock her down. Once she completes 2–3 core items, her burst can delete squishy targets quickly.
Ivern’s main counterplay is positioning, vision, and using Daisy effectively, but even then, Qiyana remains dangerous because of her mobility. Knight’s Vow is a great item on Ivern if you want to protect carries and reduce her assassination potential. This is considered a major matchup, and Ivern needs to play safe early and punish mistakes carefully.
Graves
Graves is a tough matchup for Ivern because his autos knock back Daisy, making it difficult to slow him or stick to him in fights. Once Graves gets 3–4 items, he can easily burst Daisy down and heavily outscales Ivern in the mid-to-late game. The key advantage Ivern has is in the early game: you can outclear Graves and set up effective counter-ganks before he gets rolling. Use this tempo to deny him jungle control and prevent him from snowballing, keeping Graves behind early is crucial, because once he’s ahead, he becomes extremely hard to deal with.
Viego
Viego becomes a major threat to Ivern once he scales, especially in the current crit-focused meta. While his early game isn’t the strongest, Viego’s clear and dueling power spike hard once he completes Kraken Slayer, letting him heavily out-farm and out-skirmish Ivern. His crit build gives him enough burst to effectively one-shot squishy targets, and Ivern’s shields usually aren’t strong enough to negate that damage. On top of that, Viego can turn invisible with his E, making it difficult for Ivern to track or peel against him in jungle fights. Serpent’s Fang is also a strong item choice into Ivern, further reducing the value of his shields and making teamfights even more dangerous once Viego starts snowballing.
Morgana
hate her black shield
Kayn
Kayn vs. Ivern is generally an even matchup that shifts over time. Before Kayn gets his form and especially before level 11, Ivern usually has the advantage in map control, clearing safely and enabling his lanes with shields and ganks. Once Kayn secures his form and builds into 2–3 core items, he becomes much stronger than Ivern, whether through Shadow Assassin burst or Rhaast’s sustain and teamfight presence.
Against Rhaast, it is highly recommended to build anti-heal, since his healing in extended fights can easily overwhelm Ivern’s shields. Against Blue Kayn (Shadow Assassin), defensive items become very important, Zhonya’s Hourglass is great if you’re building AP, while Knight’s Vow works well in supportive builds to help protect your carries.
Until then, Kayn is far weaker and needs time to scale, so Ivern should look to pressure lanes, secure vision, and punish early mistakes. After level 11, however, Kayn’s mobility and dueling power let him take over the map if he’s been allowed to scale.
Nocturne
Nocturne is a strong, tempo-focused matchup for Ivern. His Paranoia (R) allows him to dive onto targets and removes all of Ivern’s bushes, limiting his engage and peel options. Early trades are tricky because his W (Shroud of Darkness) blocks Ivern’s Rootcaller (Q), so to land a Q reliably, you often need to remove his W with Smite first.
In full 5v5 teamfights, Nocturne can misplay if caught out. Lock him down with Daisy and your crowd control when you’re with your team, and coordinate well to punish any overextensions. This matchup is about timing, vision, and careful coordination, and Ivern can heavily capitalize on mistakes in fights.
Ekko
Ekko vs. Ivern is generally an even and sometimes major matchup depending on scaling. Early on, Ivern can often outtempo Ekko with Rootcaller (Q), shields, and Daisy to control skirmishes. However, Ekko’s big AP scaling means that once he completes 2–3 core items, his burst and mobility become very dangerous, especially in mid-to-late game fights.
Ekko’s Phase Dive (E) and Chronobreak (R) give him ways to dodge engage or reset fights, but Ivern can still punish mispositions with slows, roots, and Daisy. Overall, this matchup comes down to timing, vision, and team coordination: Ivern is stronger early and can control objectives, while Ekko becomes a bigger threat once he hits his scaling power spikes.
Bel'Veth
Bel’Veth is a difficult matchup for Ivern, mainly because of her extreme mobility and reset potential. Early on, Ivern can use Rootcaller (Q), slows, and Daisy to contest skirmishes and counter-gank, but Bel’Veth’s high attack speed, mobility, and true damage make it very hard to lock her down in extended fights.
The key for Ivern is vision, positioning, and timing you need to land Q and use Daisy carefully to interrupt her resets. If Bel’Veth snowballs, she can easily dive past shields and peel, making fights extremely dangerous. Overall, this is a challenging matchup that requires careful play to survive and control her impact.
Diana
Diana is an even matchup for Ivern that becomes more dangerous once she hits her mid-game item spikes. Early on, Ivern usually has better map control and stronger counter-gank potential, while Diana needs time and items to scale. However, once she completes 2 core AP items, Diana’s burst and AoE engage with Moonfall (R) can easily delete squishy target, often dealing more damage than Ivern’s shields can absorb.
Diana’s weakness is that she has to fully commit to fights. If she dives too deep without backup, Ivern can punish her with shields, slows, and Daisy to peel and turn the fight. But if Diana finds a good flank, her combo can wipe a team before Ivern can react.
Overall this matchup is about tempo and timing, Ivern is stronger early, while Diana becomes scarier the longer the game goes and the more items she gets. Playing around vision and denying her all-in opportunities is key to keeping the matchup stable.
Sylas
Sylas is a matchup that heavily revolves around positioning. While he has burst and mobility, his ultimate doesn’t pose a direct threat on Ivern, and if he tries to heal with W (Kingslayer) on Daisy, it doesn’t work, making him much easier to punish. The key is to maintain good spacing and land Rootcaller (Q) reliably. Daisy and slows make it hard for Sylas to stick to targets, and overextensions can be punished easily.
This matchup is mainly about timing, positioning, and crowd control, if Ivern plays carefully, he can neutralize Sylas’ threat and control fights effectively. Overall, this is a manageable matchup that rewards proper placement and smart engages.
Pantheon
Pantheon is a dangerous early-game matchup for Ivern. His high early damage, point-and-click stuns, and Q poke allow him to punish Ivern in skirmishes or invade his jungle. Early trades and counter-ganks are risky because Pantheon can burst down camps or champions quickly.
However, Pantheon falls off in the mid-to-late game compared to Ivern’s utility, shields, and Daisy. Vision, positioning, and timing Rootcaller (Q) are key to surviving his early aggression. Once Pantheon’s early threat diminishes, Ivern can control fights, peel for carries, and use Daisy to turn engages.
Overall, this matchup favors careful early play, but Ivern has the tools to stabilize and outscale Pantheon later in the game.
Lee Sin
Lee Sin is a skill-based, tempo-driven matchup for Ivern. Lee Sin is much stronger in the early game thanks to his strong dueling, mobility, and invade pressure. If he gets ahead early, he can constantly invade Ivern, steal camps, and force skirmishes where Ivern struggles to fight back directly. His ability to insec carries also makes it hard for Ivern to fully protect his backline, since Lee can kick targets straight out of shield range.
However, Lee Sin naturally falls off compared to Ivern the longer the game goes. If Ivern survives the early game without giving Lee a lead, he outscales Lee in team utility, shielding, and objective setup. Shielding and Daisy can make Lee’s picks much harder later on, especially if he fails to burst a target instantly.
This matchup is all about early tempo vs. scaling utility: Lee Sin wants to snowball the first 10–15 minutes, while Ivern wants to stabilize, farm safely, and play for teamfights. If Ivern tracks Lee well and avoids bad skirmishes, the matchup becomes much easier over time.
Nunu & Willump
Nunu is a strong control jungler, making this matchup a battle of strategy and tracking. His Q (Consume) can even eat Daisy, removing a key part of Ivern’s utility, and his W (Biggest Snowball Ever!) gives him high mobility to engage or escape. However, landing Rootcaller (Q) on Nunu is relatively easy if you time it while he’s rolling with W, so Ivern can still punish mistakes. Both junglers excel at counter-ganking, stealing camps, and controlling objectives like Dragons, which makes the matchup highly strategic. Ultimately, it comes down to who tracks the enemy jungle better and executes counter-ganks more effectively, because both are control-oriented champions that scale with map influence rather than direct dueling power.
Xin Zhao
Xin Zhao is a strong early–mid game matchup into Ivern because of his dueling power and engage reliability. Xin Zhao can win most early skirmishes with Three Talon Strike (Q) and Wind Becomes Lightning (W), making it risky for Ivern to contest him 1v1 or defend invaded camps. Once Xin hits level 6, Crescent Guard (R) makes him even harder to deal with, the knockback can disrupt Daisy, and the damage immunity to targets outside the circle allows him to dive deep safely.
However, Xin Zhao falls off in pure carry threat compared to how much utility and shielding Ivern brings to teamfights. If Xin doesn’t snowball early through ganks or invades, he becomes easier to control with slows, shields, and peel later on.
This matchup is mainly about surviving Xin’s strong early game and avoiding isolated fights. If Ivern tracks him well, plays around counter-ganks, and reaches mid-game safely, Xin Zhao’s advantage fades and the matchup becomes far more manageable.
Gwen
Gwen is generally an even matchup for Ivern. Early on, her Q poke and W mobility allow her to trade safely, but Ivern can use Rootcaller (Q), slows, and Daisy to punish overextensions and counter-gank effectively. Gwen’s sustain keeps her healthy in skirmishes, but she is vulnerable to crowd control if caught.
The matchup revolves around timing and positioning,Ivern needs to land Q and chain CC with Daisy to lock her down, while Gwen wants to dodge abilities and poke safely. Gwen becomes more dangerous mid-to-late game with items, but Ivern’s shields and utility allow him to survive her engages and turn fights.
Overall, this is a fairly even matchup that favors Ivern slightly if he plays carefully and uses his crowd control wisely.
Fiddlesticks
Fiddlesticks is generally an even matchup for Ivern. Early game, Fiddlesticks can threaten ganks with Terrify (Q) and his clear speed is decent, but Ivern can safely farm and counter-gank thanks to Rootcaller (Q), slows, and Daisy. His utility allows him to mitigate Fiddlesticks’ early pressure.
In mid-to-late game fights, Fiddlesticks’ Crowstorm (R) can be devastating if he flanks or catches isolated targets, your q does sadly not cancel his ultimate.
This matchup revolves around vision, prediction, and timing. if Ivern tracks Fiddlesticks well and prevents flanks, he can neutralize his threat and maintain control in teamfights. Overall, it’s an even matchup with both champions relying on map awareness and positioning.
Dr. Mundo
Dr. Mundo is an even matchup for Ivern. Early trades can be managed with Rootcaller (Q), slows, and Daisy, but his tankiness and sustain make him tricky to burst. Building anti-heal helps reduce his regen in extended fights.
In higher elo, Mundo can outclear Ivern, which makes early jungle control more challenging, but careful kiting, positioning, and timing Q + Daisy allow Ivern to punish overextensions.
Overall, this is an even matchup, where proper vision, cooldown management, and patience are key to controlling Mundo while scaling safely.
Rengar
Rengar vs. Ivern is largely a skill matchup that depends on vision control, positioning, and timing. Rengar has strong burst damage and can punish Ivern or his carries from stealth with Thrill of the Hunt, especially if he has brush control. However, Ivern has solid counterplay through Rootcaller (Q), shields, and Daisy to disrupt Rengar’s engage, but landing these tools consistently is key. If Rengar misplays or engages into Ivern’s team at a bad time, he can get locked down and die quickly. On the other hand, if Ivern fails to react or lacks vision, Rengar can snowball and repeatedly pick targets. Overall, the matchup usually comes down to who plays the fights cleaner, Ivern by protecting and peeling, and Rengar by finding the perfect assassination angles.
Kha'Zix
Kha’Zix is generally an even, and sometimes even favorable, matchup for Ivern.
One of the biggest reasons is that Ivern can’t easily be isolated while Daisy is active, which massively reduces Kha’Zix’s burst threat.
Early game, Ivern can match or outtempo Kha’Zix through efficient pathing and counter-ganks. As long as Ivern plays with vision and keeps Daisy active in fights, Kha’Zix loses much of his isolation advantage, making this one of the matchups Ivern is actually very comfortable playing into.
Hecarim
Hecarim is one of Ivern’s favorite matchups. Even though Hecarim scales well with items, he struggles heavily against Ivern’s kit in fights. Hecarim wants long, high-speed engages, but Ivern constantly slows, roots, and knocks him up with Daisy, making it very hard for Hecarim to actually move once he commits. If Hecarim charges in without perfect positioning, he often gets locked down and bursted before he can disengage.
The key is positioning and timing. As long as Ivern plays with vision and stays near his carries, Hecarim has a very hard time finding clean engages. When played properly, this matchup heavily favors Ivern, because Hecarim simply can’t stick to targets through Ivern’s peel.
Elise
Elise is an early-game threat but an overall even matchup for Ivern. Her cocoon (E) and high early damage allow her to punish Ivern in skirmishes or invade his jungle. If she gets ahead early, she can snowball by taking camps and securing early objectives. However, Elise falls off in the mid-to-late game, and her dueling power becomes less impactful compared to Ivern’s utility, shields, and Daisy in teamfights.
Ivern can counter-gank Elise effectively and use vision to avoid being caught by her skillshots. The matchup is largely about early jungle control and preventing her from snowballing, because once Ivern reaches mid-game, he can neutralize Elise’s threat with proper positioning and team coordination.
Shaco
Shaco is generally an even matchup for Ivern, though the first two clears can be tricky. Early on, Shaco’s deceptive plays and fast clears allow him to pressure Ivern’s jungle and potentially invade. To avoid falling behind, ward your jungle entrances and track his movements carefully.
Once both junglers have completed their first few clears, the matchup evens out. Ivern’s Daisy, Rootcaller (Q), and slows make it hard for Shaco to fully commit without risk, and his utility and shields can mitigate Shaco’s early burst. Vision control and map awareness are key to surviving early pressure. After the early game, Ivern can safely farm, counter-gank, and control fights, making this matchup much more manageable.
Lillia
Lillia is generally an even-to-favorable matchup for Ivern. Early on, she can trade with her Q (Blooming Blows) and poke with E (Swirlseed), but Ivern can use Rootcaller (Q), slows, and Daisy to punish overextensions and counter-gank effectively. Her mobility allows her to kite, but it’s difficult for her to burst Ivern or his allies quickly.
The matchup revolves around timing and positioning. If Ivern lands his Q and chains crowd control with Daisy, he can lock Lillia down and prevent her from applying sustained poke or moving freely in fights. Lillia’s strength scales more into extended fights and AoE damage, so early pressure and counter-ganks help Ivern maintain control. Overall, this is a fairly manageable matchup for Ivern when played good.
Wukong
Wukong is an even-to-favorable matchup for Ivern. Early on, Wukong’s Q poke and E engage can pressure Ivern, but his burst is predictable and he is vulnerable to crowd control. Ivern can use Rootcaller (Q), slows, and Daisy to punish overextensions and control fights.
Wukong’s R (Cyclone) can be dangerous in teamfights if he catches multiple targets, but Ivern’s shields and CC can mitigate his impact and peel for carries. The matchup is largely about timing, positioning, and punishing misplays, if Ivern lands Q and chains Daisy properly, Wukong becomes much less of a threat.
Overall, this is a manageable matchup that favors Ivern.
Karthus
Karthus is generally a favorable matchup for Ivern. Early on, good jungle pathing allows Ivern to safely clear and control the jungle. Karthus has weak dueling potential, and you can 1v1 him with Daisy, even if you’re building enchanter items. Simply dodge his Q (Lay Waste) and use Rootcaller (Q) and slows to lock him down.
In mid-to-late game, Karthus’ R (Requiem) can threaten backline targets, but with proper vision, positioning, and Daisy, Ivern can still minimize his impact. Karthus is immobile and predictable in fights, making it easy for Ivern to control skirmishes and protect carries.
Overall, this is a favored matchup for Ivern, as he can dominate early jungle control, punish Karthus in 1v1s, and maintain strong teamfight utility throughout the game.
Master Yi
Master Yi is one of Ivern’s favorite matchups. Early on, Ivern can use Rootcaller (Q), slows, and Daisy to control Yi’s farming, counter-gank, and prevent him from snowballing. Vision control and jungle pressure make it hard for Yi to find isolated targets safely.
In the late game, Yi becomes more dangerous with Highlander (R) and core items, but Ivern can still mitigate his dives with Zhonyas or defensive support items. With proper positioning, crowd control, and timing, Ivern can reliably punish Master Yi’s mistakes, making this matchup very favorable for him.
Briar
Briar is an extremely easy matchup for Ivern. She tends to run with her W, which makes it very easy to land Rootcaller (Q). Once Q connects, you can dash in with autos and lock her down with Daisy, leaving her with almost no options to fight back. Her mobility and aggressive tools don’t matter once she’s caught, and Ivern can safely punish any overextensions.
This matchup is all about landing your Q and following up immediately. Briar essentially cannot dodge your abilities, making her one of Ivern’s easiest opponents to handle.
Zac
Zac is generally an easy-to-favorable matchup for Ivern. While Zac’s Elastic Slingshot (E) and R (Let’s Bounce!) can initiate fights, he is very predictable and heavily telegraphed. Ivern can easily land Rootcaller (Q) and chain Daisy to lock him down before he reaches carries.
Zac excels in crowd control and tankiness, but his damage is limited, and he can be punished if he overextends. Ivern’s slows, shields, and peeling potential allow him to control Zac’s engages and turn them around, especially in 5v5 fights. Proper positioning and timing make this matchup very manageable, and Zac rarely poses a true threat if Ivern plays carefully.
Evelynn
Evelynn is a favorable matchup for Ivern. Early on, warding her jungle camps is key, she cannot go stealth on her camps, and placing Control Wards around objectives makes it very hard for her to engage or counter-gank in time. This allows Ivern to punish overextensions, control objectives, and dominate early skirmishes.
Even after Evelynn hits level 6, Control Wards around objectives make it much harder for her to find successful engages with Q + E + R, and proper vision allows Ivern to react and counter-gank in time. With positioning, Daisy, and crowd control, Ivern can still neutralize Evelynn’s impact and keep fights under control.
Overall, this is one of Ivern’s favored matchups, as he can limit Evelynn’s agency throughout the game.
Brand
Brand is generally an even-to-favorable matchup for Ivern. His poke and AoE damage from Q (Sear) and R (Pyroclasm) can pressure Ivern in skirmishes, but Brand is fairly predictable and squishy. Ivern can block Brand’s Q with Daisy, land Rootcaller (Q), and chain slows to punish overextensions, preventing him from freely zoning or bursting key targets.
The matchup revolves around timing, positioning, and crowd control. If Ivern lands Q and uses Daisy properly, he can lock Brand down before he deals significant damage. Brand becomes more dangerous in extended fights or when he combos multiple targets, but Ivern’s utility and peel make it manageable.
Overall, this is a manageable matchup that favors Ivern slightly if played carefully, especially by punishing Brand’s positioning and using vision to avoid skillshot chains.
Volibear
Volibear is a free matchup for Ivern. His engages with Q (Thundering Smash) and E (Sky Splitter) are easily countered once you land Rootcaller (Q), you can dash out with autos and chain Daisy, locking him down. The key is to kite him properly, using slows and positioning to prevent him from sticking to you.
Volibear simply cannot move effectively through slows, roots, and knock-ups, making it almost impossible for him to fight back if Ivern plays smart. For extended fights, building anti-heal is recommended to reduce his sustain and make it easier to finish him off.
This matchup is all about landing your Q, following up quickly, kiting well, and reducing his healing, making Volibear one of Ivern’s easiest opponents.
Warwick
Warwick is generally a favorable matchup for Ivern. Early trades can be risky because of Q (Jaws of the Beast) sustain and E (Primal Howl) fear, but Ivern can use Rootcaller (Q), slows, and Daisy to kite him and punish overextensions. Warwick’s mobility is limited once crowd control is applied, and he struggles to stick to targets through Ivern’s slows and knock-ups.
The matchup revolves around kiting, positioning, and timing, if Ivern lands Q and chains Daisy properly, Warwick becomes much less of a threat. Building anti-heal can further reduce his sustain in extended fights.
Overall, this is a favored matchup for Ivern, as Warwick can be controlled and punished throughout the game when played correctly.
Rek'Sai
Rek’Sai is generally an even-to-favorable matchup for Ivern. Early on, her Q (Queen’s Wrath) + E (Burrowed Tremor Sense) allows her to trade and control skirmishes, but she is vulnerable to Rootcaller (Q) and Daisy, especially if caught out of position. Her mobility is strong, but Ivern’s slows and knock-ups make it hard for her to stick to targets in extended fights.
The matchup revolves around vision, timing, and counter-ganks. If Ivern tracks Rek’Sai effectively and punishes overextensions with crowd control, he can control the jungle and teamfights. Proper positioning and kiting are key to limiting her early aggression.
Overall, this is a manageable matchup that slightly favors Ivern if he plays around vision and uses his utility smartly.
Udyr
Udyr is a free matchup for Ivern in any elo. Early dueling and clears can seem intimidating, but Udyr has no reliable way to escape Daisy, slows, and Rootcaller (Q) once caught. Kiting him is very easy, and Ivern can punish overextensions consistently.
The matchup revolves around landing Q, chaining Daisy, and maintaining proper positioning. Udyr struggles to stick to targets or outplay Ivern’s utility, making it very hard for him to impact the game effectively.
Overall, this is a free matchup, as Ivern can safely control skirmishes, jungle pressure, and teamfights with minimal risk.
Vi
Vi is a favorable matchup for Ivern. While she has mobility and engages with Q (Vault Breaker) and R (Assault and Battery), Ivern can punish her effectively with Rootcaller (Q) and Daisy. You can E onto a teammate to reach an ADC, then dash in auto range with Q and chain crowd control to lock Vi down.
Proper positioning and timing make it easy to punish overextensions and prevent Vi from reaching your carries. Once caught in the CC chain, she becomes extremely vulnerable.
Overall, this is one of Ivern’s favored matchups, as he can reliably lock her down and control fights with minimal risk.
Yasuo
Yasuo is an excellent champion to pair with Ivern jungle. Ivern enables Yasuo perfectly with shields, crowd control, and Daisy, allowing Yasuo to freely take aggressive trades and all-ins without getting bursted. Triggerseed (E) gives Yasuo extra survivability while diving into fights.
Rootcaller (Q) allows Yasuo to dash in easily, and Daisy provides reliable knock-ups, giving Yasuo consistent setups for Last Breath (R). This combo excels in skirmishes, teamfights, and objective fights, where chained knock-ups can completely take over fights.
Overall, Yasuo + Ivern is a top-tier synergy, as Ivern provides everything Yasuo needs: engage, protection, and reliable ult setups.
Taric
Taric is an excellent champion to pair with Ivern jungle. Ivern enables Taric perfectly with shields, slows, and Daisy, allowing Taric to engage safely, peel for carries, and extend fights. Triggerseed (E) gives Taric extra durability while he uses E (Dazzle) and R (Cosmic Radiance) to protect his team.
Rootcaller (Q) helps Taric lock down priority targets, while Daisy provides knock-ups and frontline pressure, creating space for Taric’s heals and stuns to land effectively. This duo excels in skirmishes, teamfights, and objective fights, where sustained protection and crowd control are crucial.
Overall, Taric + Ivern is a top-tier synergy, as Ivern enhances Taric’s survivability, peel, and teamfight impact, making it very difficult for enemies to engage or dive safely.
Nilah
Nilah is an excellent champion to pair with Ivern jungle. Ivern enables Nilah perfectly with shields, slows, and Daisy, allowing her to dive in aggressively and sustain through fights. Triggerseed (E) gives her extra durability while she uses her kit to apply consistent damage.
Rootcaller (Q) helps Nilah stick to targets and set up extended trades, while Daisy provides knock-ups and frontline pressure, letting her combo safely and maximize her passive and ultimate damage. This duo excels in skirmishes, teamfights, and brawls, where Nilah thrives in extended fights.
Overall, Nilah + Ivern is a top-tier synergy, as Ivern amplifies her survivability, engage potential, and sustained damage, making her extremely hard to peel off during fights.
Olaf
Olaf is one of the best champions to pair with Ivern jungle. Ivern enables Olaf perfectly with shields, slows, allowing Olaf to run straight into fights without getting kited. Once Olaf activates R (Ragnarök), he becomes immune to crowd control, and Ivern’s E shield + slow makes him almost impossible to stop.
Daisy provides additional knock-ups and frontline pressure, while Ivern’s Rootcaller (Q) allows Olaf to gap-close easily and stay in auto-attack range. This combo excels in skirmishes, dives, and early-mid game fights, where Olaf thrives the most.
Overall, Olaf + Ivern is a top-tier synergy, as Ivern amplifies Olaf’s strengths and removes his biggest weakness: being kited.
Swain
Swain is an excellent champion to pair with Ivern jungle. Ivern enables Swain perfectly with shields, slows, and crowd control, allowing Swain to stay in fights longer and drain multiple targets. With Triggerseed (E) on him, Swain can walk into fights confidently and fully utilize his ultimate.
Rootcaller (Q) sets up easy pulls for Swain, while Daisy provides knock-ups and frontline pressure, forcing enemies to stay in Swain’s range. This combo excels in teamfights, skirmishes, and objective fights, where Swain thrives with extended combat.
Overall, Swain + Ivern is a top-tier synergy, as Ivern enhances Swain’s durability, lockdown, and teamfight presence, making him extremely hard to deal with once fights start.
Samira
Samira is an excellent champion to pair with Ivern jungle. Ivern enables Samira perfectly with shields, slows, and Daisy, allowing her to dive into fights safely and chain her combos freely. Triggerseed (E) not only provides durability but also gives Samira an extra passive stack for her ultimate, letting her reach Inferno Trigger (R) faster.
Rootcaller (Q) sets up easy knock-ups for Samira to extend her combo, and Daisy provides additional CC and frontline pressure, letting her reset safely in fights. This duo excels in skirmishes, teamfights, and extended brawls, where Samira thrives off chaos and crowd control.
Overall, Samira + Ivern is a top-tier synergy, as Ivern amplifies Samira’s survivability, engage potential, and ultimate execution, making her a huge threat in fights.
Sylas
Sylas is a very strong champion to pair with Ivern jungle. Ivern enables Sylas perfectly with shields, slows, and Daisy, allowing Sylas to stay in fights longer and fully utilize his healing and burst. With Triggerseed (E) on him, Sylas can dive aggressively without getting instantly punished.
Rootcaller (Q) gives Sylas an easy gap-close, while Daisy adds knock-ups and frontline pressure, creating chaos that Sylas thrives in. This duo is especially strong in skirmishes and mid-game fights, where Sylas can repeatedly engage and out-sustain opponents.
Overall, Sylas + Ivern is a top-tier synergy, as Ivern amplifies Sylas’ survivability and lets him take over fights through extended combat and disruption.
