Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
How this build works?
This is a suporting build and have high survival rate. Its focused to do few or none deaths and many assists, but few kills too.
It is based on getting endure as long as possible and give support to the champion allies , because of HP regeneration (with Innervating Locket passive combined with Spirit Visage, and cooldowns reduction).
How to play this build?
At early-game you must not die, and try to give support to you partner much as you can (obviously). I buy normally a health potion for heal without skill if its possible to save mana, and try to damage the enemy champions whenever you can. The early game is always the same, as you know. I try Sorcerer's Shoes, Boots of Mobility, Mercury threads and Boots of Swifnes. Normally pick boots of swiftness but depend of the game and enemy champions you can buy the other ones.
At mid game, with Innervating Locket, you have very chances of survival to any enemy champion. If you know how sona works you rarely die. Try to give support to any ally champion to kill the enemy turrets and push!
Then at late game sona becomes much stronger and difficult to kill. In 1vs1 is almost impossible to kill. The innervating Locket combined with Spirit Visage and the cooldown reduction make her and her teammates heals very quickly. You can use skill after skill with no coldown almost. And every skill you use regenerates a little amount of life, so you dont need to return to base for anything (except buy something!). There aren't mana problems too.
I try many builds and this one works veeery good for my playing style.
Sometimes I buy Shurelya's Reverie ->instead of Soul Shroud and Spirit Visage. I like very much the Active habilitie cause it can save the *** to you and your teammates some times. Also passive is pretty good.
Depending on your gamestyle maybe you prefer to buy this items that are good with Sona too:
Deathfire Gasp, if you want to do extra damage and -15% cooldows:
I tried to achieve a balanced character who successfully survive the focus and can offer good support, but also can defend itself.
Give your ideas on how to improve or it is wrong and I will be happy to be update the build. As I know better the character (I played few times with it), I will put a guide of use and alternatives to the items, summoner spells, etc.
My last game with sona
(very strong combination Yi + Sona)
