Introduction
This short guide is for playing Jarvan as a tank instead of DPS. I play Jaravan as a tank because he is great at initiating, controlling/isolating carries, and disrupting team fights.
The item build listed is for fighting a balanced team with relatively even amounts of magical and physical damage.
1) I start of with a regrowth pendent.
2) Once I have 715 gold, I head back for boots and a philosopher's stone. The regen from the stone will allow you stay in the lane for a long time, as well as increase your gold income.
3) Once I have 850g, I head back for mercury treads to help avoid ganks while laning.
4) My next purchase is a heart of gold for added defense, once again increasing gold income.
5) Sunfire cape comes next for added damage as well as health for the upcoming Atma's Impaler.
6) At this point you should be durable enough to withstand their current damage output, so we will add an offensive item, Atama's Impaler.
7) Shurelya's Reverie will add more defensive stats, boost damage from Atma's Impaler, and give you an AOE speed boost for chasing down enemies after team fights.
8) Next I will either take Force of Nature or Randuin's Omen depending on what type of damage I am taking the most.
