Clarity: I have clarity because I tend to use Raidiance ALOT, every time i get into a confrontation I slap it up, even if Im not the one being targetted, its a great help to have Clarity after the fight for replenishment. I dont like to leave the field for anything but ITEMS.
Flash: Flash is awsome for tricking Dazzle! you can cast Dazzle from a distance then flash to your target get 2 seconds and full damage, hard to pull off but possible. Also gives you extra jump if you have a fleeing low health enemy and want to catch him for a few extra gold.

In general Taric is great as a support class, I've tried making him an attack speed dps or a ap dps but these do not work as well as making him a serious suport tank he heals are unbeatable for around 500 a tick and if you have a mob to smash on for a few seconds you can heal ever 4-5 seconds instead of the 13 second cooldown.
Basically items are very fluid, meaning that you can make your own depending on who your playing with and against. I like to have the archangels staff frozen heart and abyssal scepter on all my builds but other than that you can make it custom. Make a choice at the beginning of the game what you need i like to have 200 armor and 200 magic resistance but some times you do not need that much, and other you need to build up either armor or Magic resist more aggressivle, either way as long as you get over 200 ability power your golden!
