By PykEugeo

Welcome to my guide! I'm PykEugeo (known as #pyking in Korean), an Italian Pyke OTP who loves experimenting with off-meta but high-impact champions in the support role. In this guide, I’ll introduce you to one of the most underrated and creative picks you can bring to the botlane: Elise support.

While Elise is traditionally seen as a jungler, her kit is surprisingly effective when flexed into support thanks to her strong crowd control with Cocoon, burst damage, and early-game pressure. What makes her even more interesting is that, much like Rell in the past, Elise can adapt her playstyle to not only dominate lane but also work alongside her jungler in a unique strategy inspired by Pocovirtuoso. By helping your jungler clear camps faster and enabling quicker rotations, Elise becomes more than just a support—she turns into a tempo engine that maximizes map pressure.

This guide will cover everything from laning fundamentals to mid- and late-game teamfighting, as well as an in-depth look at the Pocovirtuoso strategy and how to apply it with Elise support. With her flexibility, high burst potential, and ability to accelerate her team’s tempo, Elise brings a fresh and powerful approach to the support role that can completely change the pace of the game.

Spider Queen

Innate - Human Form: Elise gains one dormant Spiderling whenever she hits an enemy with an ability, storing once per cast and up to 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 (based on Human Form's Rank) at a time. She stores the maximum number of Spiderlings when the game starts and upon respawning.

Innate - Spider Form: Elise's basic attacks deal 12 / 22 / 32 / 42 (based on Spider Form's Rank) (+ 15% AP) bonus magic damage and heal her for 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 (based on Spider Form's Rank) (+ 8% AP) on-hit.
Details
  • What are Spiderling?
  • About Pets
  • Spider Form's effects do not apply to structures.
  • If an ability hits while Elise is already in Spider Form, a Spiderling will spawn near her rather than being stored.
  • The Spiderlings have a leash range.
  • Spider Form's basic attacks will apply other on-hit effects and can strike critically strike as normal (the bonus damage does not).
    • Spider Form's bonus damage and healing can be blocked, dodge and are not applied if Elise is blind.
  • Applies proc damage on the bonus magic damage on-hit in Spider Form.
  • The Spiderlings apply area damage.
Neurotoxin (Human Form)

Active: Elise fires a toxin at the target enemy that deals magic damage, with the damage based on the target's health ratio being capped against monsters.

COST: 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100 Mana
COOLDOWN: 6 sec.
CAST TIME: 0.25 sec.
TARGET RANGE: Range center 575
SPEED: 2200

MAGIC DAMAGE: 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+ 4% (+ 3% per (+ 100% AP)) of target's current health)

Capped Monster Damage: 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 / 175

Details
  • If the target becomes untargetable, dies, or is too far away or no longer in sight during the cast time, this ability will cancel but does not go on cooldown nor pay its cost (if applicable).
  • With the exceptions of Elise's Death Blossom, Victorious, Blood Moon, and Super Galaxy skins; Neurotoxin's VFX size will scale uncapped based off the total damage it does.
Venomous Bite (Spider Form)

Active: Elise pounces at the target enemy with her fangs and bites them, dealing magic damage and applying on-hit effects, as well as revealing them for 0.528 seconds from the start of the cast time. The damage based on the target's health ratio is capped against monsters.

If there are active Spiderlings or Volatile Spiderlings nearby, they will dash alongside Elise to the target upon Venomous Bite's cast and reprioritize them.

COOLDOWN: 6 sec.
CAST TIME: 0.25 sec.
TARGET RANGE: Range center 475
SPEED: 1150

MAGIC DAMAGE: 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 (+ 8% (+ 3% per (+ 100% AP)) of target's current health)

Capped Monster Damage: 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 / 175

Details
  • Elise will not dash if the target is within basic attack range.
    • This ability is disabled while grounded or rooted even if Elise is in the range in which she does not dash.
      • What does Root mean ?
  • If Elise is allowed to dash, Venomous Bite can be used to cross sufficiently thin terrain.
  • Spider Queen Spiderlings can cross walls and terrain to reach Venomous Bite's target and will attack provided Elise stays within their leash range.
  • Spider Queen Spiderlings will dash even if they are crowd controlled.
  • Venomous Bite will always apply its effects after the cast time, even if the dash is interrupted.
  • Venomous Bite's reveal is a small area around the target, making it possible for them to exit the reveal radius and lose vision.
  • Venomous Bite will still deal its damage but not apply on-hit effects if it is blocked or dodged. It cannot be missed while Elise is blinded.
Volatile Spiderling (Human Form)
ACTIVE: Elise summons an untargetable venom-gorged spider that lasts for 3 seconds. The spider searches for nearby targets and crawls to them after a delay of 0.75 seconds and otherwise crawls to the target location before doing so without incurring a delay, navigating its path upon encountering terrain.

The spider gains bonus movement speed based on its proximity to the detected target. When the spider comes into contact with an enemy, or upon expiring otherwise, it instantly explodes to deal magic damage to nearby enemies.

The spider prioritizes the nearest enemy if it detects one before reaching the target location, and champions always if it detects one after doing so.

COST: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 MANA
COOLDOWN: 12 sec.
CAST TIME: 0.125 sec.
TARGET RANGE: 950
COLLISION RADIUS: 150
EFFECT RADIUS: Range center 275
Seeking Radius: 550

MAGIC DAMAGE: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+ 75% AP)

Details
  • If Volatile Spiderling dashes to a target due to Venomous Bite, it will not expire before finishing its jump.
    • It can still collide with enemies while dashing, but since this proximity check is repeated only every so often, it might phase through an enemy on its way without detecting the collision if dashing quickly enough.
  • The spiderling checks for nearby targets every 0.264 seconds, both for potential enemies to chase down and to explode 'on-contact'. Because of this, it may walk closer to an enemy than its "collision radius" before exploding.
Skittering Frenzy (Spider Form)
Passive: Elise's Spider Queen Spiderlings gain bonus attack speed.

Active: Elise and her Spider Queen Spiderlings gain bonus attack speed for 3 seconds.

Skittering Frenzy resets Elise's basic attack timer. Elise loses Skittering Frenzy immediately when she switches to Human Form.

Cocoon (Human Form)
ACTIVE: Elise fires a web in the target direction, stunning the first enemy hit for a few seconds, during which they are also revealed.

Stun Duration: 1.6 / 1.8 / 2 / 2.2 / 2.4 seconds

COST: 50 MANA
COOLDOWN: 12 / 11.5 / 11 / 10.5 / 10 sec.
CAST TIME: 0.25 sec.
TARGET RANGE: Range center 1100
WIDTH: Range model 110
SPEED: 1600

Details
  • What does Revealed mean ?
  • This ability will cast from wherever the caster is at the end of the cast time.
  • Cocoon deals no damage and thus does not trigger turret aggro, or effects such as Elixir of Sorcery and Sudden Impact's activation.
  • Cocoon will activate combat status despite not dealing any damage.
Rappel (Spider Form)
ACTIVE: Elise and her Spider Queen Spiderlings lift up into the air over 0.6 seconds, immediately becoming untargetable and unable to act, and afterwards vanishing for up to 1.95 seconds and granting sight of the surrounding 900 units for the duration.

Rappel can be recast instantly on a target enemy within the duration, or without a target after a delay for the duration, and does the latter automatically after the duration.

Recast: Elise and her Spider Queen Spiderlings reappear and descend onto the ground over 0.4 seconds, becoming targetable and able to act again afterwards. Additionally, Spider Queen's bonuses are increased for 5 seconds.

If the recast was used on a target enemy, Elise and her Spider Queen Spiderlings descend behind the target's location. Otherwise, she and her Spider Queen Spiderlings will descend onto their current position without a target.

Rappel's recast can be used while affected by cast-inhibiting crowd control.

Spider Effects Increase: 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 / 100%

COOLDOWN: 22 / 21 / 20 / 19 / 18 sec.
CAST TIME: NONE
TARGET RANGE: Range center 825/900

Details
  • When Elise casts Rappel, a circle outlines the area in which a target can be selected to descend upon.
    • Elise will always attempt to position behind her target at the same offset if she descends within than Rappel's max range (825), provided there is enough space at the other side. If the target is at the edge of the recast's radius, Elise will not appear at the exact offset behind her target but as close to them as possible instead.
    • For example, if the target's edge is barely within range for the recast, she will appear in front of them.
    • If Elise's location-targeted recast is used by issuing a movement command within the respective range of Rappel, she will descend as normal but then move to the location that the movement command was issued; her movement commands will not be interrupted from descending.
  • The delay for recasting without a target after Elise has lifted into the air is inconsistent.(bug)
  • While Elise is lifting up into the air, she can buffer Rappel's recast by targeting an enemy with an attack command or the recast input itself in the meantime. She however cannot buffer Rappel's location-targeted recast.
    • The initial cast can also directly target an enemy to buffer the recast.
    • Elise will lift up into the air 0.05 seconds shorter in this case.
  • The bonuses granted for descending are not lost if Elise switches to Human Form.
  • Rappel can be cast on any targetable enemy unit (champions, minions, monsters, wards, traps, and jungle plants) except structures.
  • If Elise is positioned within the radius of the unit she's using the initial target cast on, Rappel will instead register as a self-cast and not immediately descend. (bug)
  • Elise can Rappel to Rift Herald from the other side of the Baron Nashor's pit as well as to Dragon by standing near the Scryer's Bloom spawn locations. This is a result of sight being granted in a smaller circle than the target range limit for descending and the Summoner's Rift map having height variations.
  • If Elise enters resurrection during Rappel, she will descend back down immediately.
Spider Form / Human Form
Passive: Spider Queen's bonuses are increased.

Toggle: Elise switches between her Human Form and Spider Form.

Spider Form: Elise transforms into a spider, gaining 25 bonus movement speed, melee basic attacks with 125 range, and access to her arachnid abilities. Additionally, she summons all stored Spider Queen Spiderlings and heals them to full health.

Human Form: Elise transforms into a human, gaining ranged basic attacks, and access to her human abilities. Additionally, she stores all active Spiderlings.
Elise begins with one rank in Spider Form / Human Form and can increase it at levels 6, 11, and 16.

COOLDOWN: 3 sec.
CAST TIME: none

Details
  • Transformations do not count as ability activations for the purposes of on-cast effects such as Moonflair Spellblade (it's a example) and triggering Force Pulse's passive.
  • If Spider Form is cast during a basic attack windup, Elise will perform a Spider Form basic attack that benefits from the bonus damage and healing from Spider Queen, but remain at Human Form basic attack range, despite not using a projectile. This basic attack is considered a melee attack and thus will not trigger Runaan's Hurricane's Wind's Fury bolts.
    • Spider Form and Human Form have separate cooldowns.

Laning Phase:
  • High Burst Damage: Elise has strong early-game burst with Neurotoxin + Venomous Bite, allowing her to pressure and punish squishy enemy laners.
  • Reliable Crowd Control: Cocoon provides a long-duration stun that can set up easy trades or secure kills with her ADC and jungler.
  • Early Kill Pressure: Her strong base damage and execute from Venomous Bite make her especially threatening in early all-ins.
  • Flexible Trading: Elise can poke in human form with Neurotoxin and Volatile Spiderling, then swap to spider form for aggressive all-ins.
  • Snowball Potential: With an early lead, Elise can dominate lane and create pressure across the map, leveraging her burst and pick power.
Late Game:
  • Pick Potential: Elise excels at catching enemies out of position with Cocoon, creating opportunities for her team to secure objectives.
  • Burst Threat: Even in support role, Elise’s combo can quickly chunk down squishies and force carries to play cautiously.
  • Objective Control: With her spiderlings and execute damage from Venomous Bite, she can help secure Baron, Athakan, Dragon, or even towers more efficiently.
  • Peeling Utility: Cocoon can be used defensively to peel for her ADC or interrupt enemy divers, adding utility in teamfights.
  • Versatile Playstyle: Elise can shift between aggressive pickmaker and defensive peeler depending on her team’s needs, making her a flexible support choice.
Cons
- Study Pro Player Combos
- Vulnerable to Tank Supports
- High Skill Cap
- Difficulty with Disengage
- Risky Roaming
- Reliant on Snowballing

Laning Phase:
  • Limited Synergy with Scaling ADCs: Elise works best with aggressive ADCs like Draven or Lucian, who can follow up on her Cocoon and early burst. She struggles alongside scaling ADCs such as Aphelios or Jinx, since she provides little peel and cannot play a passive, farm-oriented style.
  • Struggles Against Tank Supports: Tanky supports like Leona, Nautilus, or Braum can absorb her combo and punish her all-ins with hard crowd control, making it hard for Elise to apply pressure.
  • Squishy and Vulnerable: Elise is naturally fragile, especially in human form, making her susceptible to being caught by enemy engage supports or bursty ADCs. Getting locked down often results in a quick death.
  • Limited Wave Control: Elise does not have strong tools to push or manage minion waves, meaning she can struggle to reset the lane or set up roams effectively.
  • Reliance on Skillshots: Missing Cocoon greatly reduces her kill pressure and leaves her vulnerable, making her laning phase heavily dependent on precision.
Late Game:
  • Falling Off in Late Game: Elise’s burst becomes less threatening as enemies build resistances and health, reducing her ability to assassinate priority targets.
  • Low Utility Compared to Enchanters: Unlike champions such as Lulu or Nami, Elise provides no healing, shielding, or consistent buffs for her carries, limiting her teamfight impact.
  • High-Risk, High-Reward Playstyle: Elise often has to dive into fights in Spider Form to deal damage, which exposes her to danger and can quickly lead to her being eliminated if misplayed.
  • Reliant on Early Leads: If Elise doesn’t secure kills or create early pressure, she struggles to remain impactful later, often becoming more of a pick tool than a true support.
  • Limited Peel Options: Aside from landing Cocoon, Elise has little to protect her ADC against divers or assassins, making it difficult to keep carries safe in teamfights.

Flash
Flash provides Elise with the ability to quickly reposition and maneuver past obstacles during fights. This is especially valuable for landing her Cocoon on priority targets or enemy carries, enabling her to set up picks and initiate plays for her team.

Additionally, Flash allows Elise to find the perfect angle for her Cocoon or to engage aggressively in Spider Form with Rappel, maximizing her potential to disrupt the enemy team and create advantageous situations.

On the defensive side, Flash can be used to escape dangerous scenarios, particularly when Elise has already expended her Rappel and lacks other options. This flexibility makes Flash an essential tool for unlocking Elise’s full playmaking potential as a support.

Ignite
When playing Elise with Ignite, you gain a strong offensive edge, increasing your ability to secure kills in skirmishes and all-ins. Ignite deals true damage over time and applies Grievous Wounds, making it especially effective when paired with Elise’s early-game pressure and pick potential.

The presence of Ignite forces opponents to play more cautiously, giving Elise greater opportunities to capitalize on her crowd control with Cocoon. When combined with her burst from Neurotoxin and Venomous Bite in Spider Form, Ignite can be the deciding factor between an enemy barely surviving or being finished off.

Ignite also empowers Elise to snowball the early game, enhancing her ability to pressure lane and create kill windows for her ADC. This helps secure lane dominance and provides your team with a stronger foundation for mid-game skirmishes.

Finally, Ignite is particularly effective against champions with high healing or sustain, such as Soraka, Vladimir, Olaf, or Briar, reducing their survivability and making it easier for Elise to convert picks into kills.
Exhaust
Exhaust offers Elise valuable utility and defensive capabilities during both the laning phase and team fights. By casting Exhaust on enemy champions, Elise can drastically reduce their damage output, neutralizing threats such as Draven or Kennen and making it easier for her and her ADC to survive aggressive trades.

During the laning phase, Exhaust can be used defensively to mitigate burst damage from enemy all-ins or offensively to secure picks after landing Cocoon. This gives Elise and her ADC the chance to turn skirmishes around or secure kills more safely.

In team fights, Exhaust can protect key allies from divers and assassins, buying time for your backline to deal damage. By applying Exhaust to high-priority targets, Elise adds a strong layer of peel to her natural pick potential, disrupting enemy carries and reducing their impact.

Additionally, Exhaust can be used offensively to slow and weaken slippery or high-threat champions, giving Elise more control when chasing down enemies or setting up for her team to follow up after Cocoon.
Teleport
When playing Elise with Teleport, you gain valuable map mobility and strategic flexibility, allowing you to join fights across the map, secure objectives, or surprise the enemy team with unexpected presence.

The use of Teleport enables Elise to exert pressure beyond her own lane, creating opportunities to assist her ADC, reinforce allies in skirmishes, or swing the momentum of fights in other lanes. With her pick potential from Cocoon, arriving unexpectedly can easily turn the tide of a battle.

Teleport enhances Elise’s ability to influence the mid and late game by letting her quickly rejoin her team, contest neutral objectives, or apply pressure where needed. This makes her presence on the map more impactful and unpredictable.

Finally, Teleport provides flexibility by allowing Elise to return to lane quickly after roaming or failed ganks, ensuring she maintains pressure while still having the option to support her team across the map. This makes it a situational but powerful summoner spell when global presence and map control are key to victory.

The itemization for Elise requires flexibility and adaptability. It's essential to carefully evaluate the game situation and the needs of your team to build a set of items that maximizes Elise's effectiveness and support on the battlefield.

This is a standard burst build for Elise support: Sorcerer's Shoes provide strong magic penetration, maximizing her burst potential and making her early combos with Cocoon and Neurotoxin even more punishing against squishies.

Bloodsong is her support item, giving her utility for her team while also amplifying her own burst damage when she attacks marked targets. It perfectly fits her aggressive playstyle as a support who can both enable her ADC and deal damage herself.

Stormsurge adds a powerful burst passive that synergizes with Elise’s combos—after she chunks enemies below a certain health threshold, the extra damage can finish them off, further reinforcing her identity as a high-execution champion.

Shadowflame provides flat magic penetration and bonus damage against shielded or low-health enemies, giving Elise excellent mid-game power to punish squishy targets and shred through defenses.

Cryptbloom adds utility by providing magic penetration and team healing on takedowns, making it a perfect balance between offense and support. It lets Elise remain impactful in teamfights, both as a damage threat and as a utility tool.

Finally, Zhonya's Hourglass is a vital defensive option. Since Elise often dives into the backline in Spider Form, the active stasis allows her to survive after committing to risky engages, buying time for her team to follow up or disengage safely.

Bloodsong
VS

Zaz'Zak's Realmspike
Choosing Bloodsong as a support item is recommended when you want to balance utility and damage. The item empowers your basic attacks after immobilizing an enemy, which fits perfectly with Elise’s kit since she can reliably trigger it with Cocoon. This not only helps your ADC secure trades in lane but also amplifies your own burst damage when diving with Spider Form. Furthermore, the additional ability haste and support stats make it a safer and more consistent choice in most matchups. In teamfights, Bloodsong allows Elise to both enable her carries and remain a relevant damage threat, blending her role as a utility support and secondary AP assassin.

However, for the late game, it is often recommended to sell your support item in favor of Celestial Opposition. This switch provides increased survivability with its damage reduction and AoE slow, which is invaluable for Elise once she transitions into a more utility-focused role. The missions associated with your initial support item remain completed and won’t reset upon swapping, allowing you to adapt your build to the needs of the team while retaining your early progress.
Zaz'Zak's Realmspike is a more aggressive alternative. Its passive deals additional damage after spellcasts, giving Elise stronger poke and skirmishing power, especially when snowballing. With her fast combo rotation, she can repeatedly trigger the burn effect, creating more pressure in fights and skirmishes around objectives. Zaz'Zak's Realmspike is particularly effective when you are ahead and want to push your advantage by maximizing burst damage and forcing picks. However, it lacks the defensive utility of Bloodsong, making it riskier if the game drags into extended teamfights.

However, for the late game, it is often recommended to sell Zaz'Zak's Realmspike in favor of Celestial Opposition. Switching to Celestial Opposition provides increased survivability with its damage reduction and crowd control utility, which can be crucial during late-game team fights. The missions associated with Zaz'Zak's Realmspike remain completed and won't reset when you make the switch, allowing you to adapt your build as the game progresses without losing progress.

Hextech Alternator
Hextech Alternator is one of the core components for building Stormsurge, and it fits perfectly with Elise support’s playstyle. It provides ability power and, most importantly, a bonus damage effect on the first hit against an enemy champion. This passive synergizes extremely well with Elise, who thrives in short and explosive trades: landing a Cocoon and following up with her combo immediately takes advantage of the bonus damage. During the laning phase, it makes her all-ins much more threatening and increases her chances of bursting down the enemy carry early on.
Amplifying Tome
The Amplifying Tome is a basic item that provides 20 Ability Power, making it a cost-effective option for Elise support when looking to increase her damage output early in the game. On the first recall, purchasing an Amplifying Tome is a good choice if you don't have enough gold for more expensive components like the Aether Wisp or Hextech Alternator. It offers an immediate power spike in damage, which can be critical for trading in lane and maintaining pressure on opponents. Additionally, the Amplifying Tome is a versatile item that builds into many of Elise's core items, such as Stormsurge, Cryptbloom, and other AP-heavy options, making it a flexible and efficient investment to further her item progression.
Aether Wisp
Aether Wisp grants ability power and, most importantly, bonus movement speed, which is a crucial stat for an aggressive support like Elise. The extra mobility allows her to find better angles to land Cocoon, move quickly when roaming or warding, and follow her jungler during early invades. It not only accelerates her engage potential in team fights but also makes her more unpredictable and harder to punish when leaving lane.
Dark Seal
The Dark Seal is a high-risk, high-reward item that is often purchased by Elise support for its potential to snowball games. It provides 15 Ability Power and 50 Health, and it has a unique passive that grants additional Ability Power for each stack of Glory, with a maximum of 10 stacks. You gain stacks for champion takedowns (kills or assists), making it an item that rewards aggressive play and successful skirmishes. Here's a closer look at the risks and benefits of this item:

Benefits:
  • Cost-Effective Power Spike: At a low cost of 350 gold, the Dark Seal provides an efficient boost in Ability Power and health, making it an attractive early-game item for amplifying Elise’s damage output.
  • Snowball Potential: The unique passive allows Elise to increase her Ability Power significantly by gaining stacks. Each kill grants 2 stacks, and each assist grants 1 stack, with a maximum of 10 stacks providing up to 55 Ability Power when fully stacked.
  • Synergy with Mejai's Soulstealer: The Dark Seal builds into Mejai's Soulstealer, an item that can further increase your Ability Power based on stacks. This synergy can lead to explosive damage potential if you manage to maintain and increase your stacks without dying.
Risks:
  • Stack Loss on Death: One of the main risks of building a Dark Seal is losing 5 stacks upon death. This can significantly reduce your Ability Power if you have built up many stacks, making it a risky item to rely on if you are frequently caught out or targeted by the enemy team.
  • Reliance on Aggression: The effectiveness of the Dark Seal heavily depends on your ability to secure kills and assists. If you are unable to participate in takedowns, the item provides relatively low value compared to other Ability Power items.
  • Potential to Snowball Backwards: While the item can help you snowball when ahead, it can also set you back if you are unable to maintain stacks. This makes it crucial to balance aggressive plays with safe positioning, especially in team fights.
Boots
You will buy Boots if you have excess gold which will later allow you to buy more important boots. They are very useful for roaming and returning to lane sooner. Later I will better describe which ones to opt for based on the situations.

Control Ward
Purchasing a Control Ward on the first recall with Elise in the bot lane can be crucial for maintaining vision control and preventing enemy ganks or roams. If you find yourself pushed back to base earlier than expected, it may indicate that your lane is struggling or that the enemy jungler has been applying pressure. Buying a Control Ward allows you to regain vision in key areas of the map, such as the river or the enemy jungle entrances, helping to prevent further setbacks and allowing you to safely resume laning. Additionally, placing a Control Ward in the river bush or the enemy tri-bush can provide valuable information about the enemy's movements, potentially averting future ganks and enabling your team to make informed decisions.

When playing Elise support, the choice of boots can significantly impact her performance and effectiveness in different scenarios. Here’s a breakdown of when to build each type of boots:
Sorcerer's Shoes
Sorcerer's Shoes
Mercury's Treads
Mercury's Treads
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Stormsurge –
Completing both components leads to Stormsurge, which is the main rush item for Elise support. This item massively amplifies her burst damage, triggering a powerful damage explosion when she brings an enemy below a certain health threshold. With her fast combo (Q + W + transformation into Spider Form), she can consistently push enemies past that threshold, activating the bonus damage and often securing kills on squishy targets. On top of that, it provides both ability power and bonus movement speed, boosting her impact during the laning phase and giving her explosive playmaking potential moving into mid-game skirmishes.

Teamfight Impact & AoE Utility

Shadowflame
VS
Scaling Healing Power & Personal Value

Zhonya's Hourglass
Shadowflame is the better second item when you want to maximize Elise’s burst potential and keep the snowball going. It provides a large amount of ability power combined with magic penetration, making her combos even deadlier against squishier targets and champions relying on shields. The item shines in games where Elise can consistently find picks with her Cocoon and follow up with high-damage rotations to instantly delete priority targets.

Since Elise thrives on creating advantages through aggressive plays, Shadowflame ensures that she doesn’t fall behind in damage output and can remain a major threat in mid-game skirmishes.

Pick Shadowflame when:
  • The enemy team has many squishy targets with little magic resistance.
  • You’re ahead or your lane snowball went well.
  • You want to focus on keeping your burst damage as threatening as possible.
Summary.. go Shadowflame if you’re snowballing, facing low MR squishies, or need to maximize your burst to carry the mid-game.
Building Zhonya's Hourglass as a second item is ideal when survivability is your top priority. As an aggressive support, Elise often dives into the enemy backline after landing Cocoon, which puts her in risky positions. The Stasis active from Zhonya allows her to safely execute her combo and then avoid retaliation from abilities like Kai'Sa’s ultimate, Zed’s Death Mark, or heavy engage tools from champions such as Leona or Rell.

Additionally, the armor makes it very effective against AD-heavy team compositions or when the enemy ADC is snowballing. Choosing Zhonya ensures that Elise can survive longer in fights, bait enemy cooldowns, and create opportunities for her team even if her burst alone doesn’t secure a kill.

Pick Zhonya’s Hourglass when:
  • The enemy team has strong dive or engage champions.
  • You’re facing fed AD carries or assassins.
  • You need more teamfight durability and utility rather than raw damage.
Summary.. go Zhonya’s Hourglass if you need to survive longer in fights, face heavy AD threats, or deal with dangerous engage champions.

Cryptbloom
Cryptbloom is an invaluable item for Elise that offers a blend of damage, utility, and cooldown reduction, making it a versatile choice in her item build. With a total price of 2850 gold, it provides 75 Ability Power, 30 Magic Penetration, and 20 Ability Haste. These stats enhance Elise's burst damage and ability to apply pressure on the enemy team, while the unique passive offers significant utility in teamfights.

The 75 Ability Power increases Elise's damage output, while the 30 Magic Penetration ensures that her abilities can cut through enemy magic resistance more effectively, amplifying her damage against both squishy targets and those with some magic resist. This combination makes Cryptbloom a potent item for maximizing Elise's damage during mid-game skirmishes and teamfights, representing a key power spike in her build.

The 20 Ability Haste is particularly valuable for reducing the cooldowns of Elise's abilities, allowing her to engage and disengage more frequently and maintain a higher level of pressure throughout fights. This contributes to her ability to execute her high-impact combos more often, making her an even greater threat to the enemy team.

The unique passive of Cryptbloom creates a healing nova at the location of an enemy champion you recently damaged and subsequently took down. This nova heals allies for 100 (+20% of Ability Power) and has a 60-second cooldown. This passive adds significant team utility, providing an AoE healing effect that can be crucial in prolonged engagements. The healing can turn the tide in fights by sustaining your team and enabling them to stay in the fray longer, particularly when combined with Elise's burst damage to secure quick takedowns.

Overall, Cryptbloom is a powerful item for Elise because it combines damage enhancement with a valuable utility component. The item acts as a strong power spike by boosting her ability to deal magic damage and providing a healing benefit that supports her team. This makes it a highly effective choice when looking to maximize both individual impact and team contribution during the mid-game and early late-game phases.
Void Staff
Void Staff is a powerful item for Elise that provides 95 Ability Power and 40 Magic Penetration. It is particularly useful for cutting through high amounts of magic resistance, making it an essential choice when facing enemies who build significant magic resist, such as tanks like Leona, Rell, or Sejuani.

However, due to its higher cost of 3000 gold compared to Cryptbloom, and its more specialized use, Void Staff is often built later in the game or as a secondary option. While the increased Magic Penetration is crucial for maximizing damage against heavily armored opponents, Void Staff lacks the utility that Cryptbloom offers. Cryptbloom provides not only 75 Ability Power and 30 Magic Penetration but also grants 20 Ability Haste and has a unique passive that heals allies on takedowns. This healing nova can significantly impact team fights by providing additional sustain to your team, which can be particularly valuable in extended engagements.

In summary, while Void Staff is indispensable for dealing with high magic resist, its higher cost and lack of utility make it a less frequent choice compared to Cryptbloom, which offers more versatility and support in addition to its damage components. Therefore, Void Staff is typically prioritized when dealing with opponents who heavily invest in magic resistance, but Cryptbloom is often built earlier for its utility and overall effectiveness in a broader range of situations.
Rabadon's Deathcap
Rabadon's Deathcap is a powerhouse item for Elise when you want to maximize her damage output and enhance her burst potential. With 130 Ability Power, it significantly boosts her ability to deal magic damage.

The unique passive increases your Ability Power by 30%, which means all your Ability Power items contribute more to your total damage. This amplification effect makes Rabadon's Deathcap particularly effective as a late-game item or a third major item, providing a substantial boost to your damage and allowing you to execute enemies with even greater efficiency.

Building Rabadon's Deathcap is ideal when you are ahead and looking to maximize your damage output in team fights or when finishing off high-value targets. It synergizes well with other Ability Power items, turning your already high burst damage into a devastating force. It’s especially effective when the enemy team has not heavily invested in magic resistance. In situations where the enemy is building magic resist, consider getting items like Cryptbloom first to ensure you can penetrate their defenses.

Alternatively, if you have already built Cryptbloom and the game is progressing, switching to Rabadon's Deathcap can offer a significant increase in your overall damage output. This item will further amplify your burst potential, making you a more formidable threat in team fights and skirmishes.
Banshee's Veil
Banshee's Veil is a valuable situational item for Elise when you need to counter heavy AP compositions or deal with high amounts of crowd control. It provides 105 Ability Power and 40 Magic Resistance, boosting both your damage output and survivability against magic damage.

The unique passive of Banshee's Veil grants a spell shield that blocks the next incoming enemy ability, with a cooldown of 30 seconds. This shield can be crucial for protecting Elise from key crowd control effects or critical abilities that could otherwise prevent her from executing her combos or engaging effectively. The cooldown of the shield is reset if you take damage from champions, making it essential to time your engagements and positioning to make the most of the shield.

Building Banshee's Veil is particularly useful in matches where the enemy team has strong AP champions or significant crowd control. It allows Elise to engage more safely, mitigate incoming damage, and avoid being locked down by crucial enemy abilities. This can be especially important when facing champions who can easily burst her down or disrupt her positioning, such as Ahri, Lissandra, or Anivia.
Mejai's Soulstealer
Mejai's Soulstealer is a situational item for Elise that can be highly effective when you're experiencing a strong snowball and are looking to capitalize on your momentum. Priced at 1600 gold, it provides 20 Ability Power and 100 Health, enhancing your survivability and damage output.

The unique passive of Mejai's Soulstealer allows you to gain 4 stacks for each champion kill and 2 stacks for assists, up to a maximum of 25 stacks. If you reach 10 stacks, you gain an additional 5 Ability Power per stack and 10% bonus movement speed. This makes the item particularly valuable for snowballing scenarios where you are consistently securing kills and assists. The increased damage and movement speed from stacking Mejai’s can significantly boost your effectiveness in skirmishes and teamfights.

However, if you die, you lose 10 stacks, which can set back your progress and reduce the item's benefits. Therefore, Mejai's Soulstealer is best used when you’re ahead and can leverage its snowball potential, maximizing your burst damage and mobility. It’s less reliable in games where the risk of dying is high or if you are not able to build up stacks quickly. In those cases, focusing on more consistent power items like Shadowflame or Cryptbloom might be more prudent.

Talking of wave management, Elise wields strategic prowess as a support. With her versatile toolkit, she navigates the delicate balance of controlling minion waves to gain advantages for her team. From orchestrating fast pushes to orchestrating freezes, each technique serves a distinct purpose in her quest to secure lane dominance and pave the path to victory.

1. Fast Push
Accelerated lane clearance

When your ADC decides to fast push, your role as Elise is to help them quickly clear the wave and push it towards the enemy tower. This strategy is useful when you want to reset the wave or create pressure on the enemy tower. Use your abilities to clear minions efficiently and provide protection for your ADC during the push.

2. Slow push
Gradual lane buildup

Slow pushing involves killing enemy minions at a slower pace, allowing your minion wave to build up over time. As Elise, you can assist your ADC by selectively damaging enemy minions to maintain a slow push. This strategy is effective for building a minion advantage, creating opportunities for turret dives, or setting up for objective control.

3. Freeze
Wave Freezing

Freezing the wave involves maintaining an equilibrium near your tower, denying the enemy ADC access to farm safely. As Elise, you can assist in freezing the wave by only last-hitting minions and zoning the enemy bot lane duo away from the minion wave. Freezing is advantageous when your team wants to deny the enemy ADC farm or set up for jungle ganks.

Elise Support is a dynamic and high-impact champion renowned for her explosive burst damage and exceptional mobility. Her playstyle revolves around creating opportunities through precise engages, disrupting opponents, and securing kills with her potent combos. Unlike traditional supports who might focus on shielding or sustaining their allies, Elise thrives on aggression and quick, decisive plays.

Mastering Elise involves understanding and executing her various combos to maximize her impact. Her skillset requires precise timing and positioning to unleash devastating burst damage and secure kills.

This chapter will delve into Elise’s playstyle, focusing on her approach to engaging and trading in lane, her role in teamfights and objectives, and how to effectively utilize her combos to dominate the game. Understanding these aspects will be crucial for maximizing Elise’s potential and leveraging her strengths to control the battlefield and secure victories.

A creative strategy, popularized by Pocovirtuoso when he reached Rank 1 with Rell, involved leveraging her flexibility between support and jungle. Back when Rell’s abilities dealt damage to jungle monsters, he would play a standard laning phase and then transition into shadowing his jungler, helping them clear camps. By reducing the time his jungler spent farming, Pocovirtuoso allowed for faster rotations, more frequent invades, and increased map pressure. This approach maximized tempo and created constant opportunities for plays across the map.

Elise support can adopt a similar strategy thanks to her natural jungle-oriented kit. With her abilities also dealing full damage to monsters, Elise can accelerate her jungler’s clears by assisting with camps after the first wave of laning, or during rotations when the ADC can safely farm alone. This drastically cuts down the jungler’s downtime, enabling them to focus more on invades, ganks, and contesting objectives.

The key strength of this strategy lies in tempo management. By shaving seconds off every jungle camp, Elise ensures her jungler stays a step ahead of the enemy counterpart, making it harder for them to contest map control. In addition, Elise’s crowd control with Cocoon and her burst damage make her ideal for skirmishes that naturally follow from this playstyle, especially around early objectives like Dragon or Rift Herald.

Much like Rell in her flexible days, Elise support becomes more than just a lane presence. She acts as an extension of her jungler, amplifying their impact and turning the duo into a roaming, pressure-focused engine. When executed properly, this strategy transforms the game’s pace, forcing enemies to constantly respond to a jungle-support duo that never gives breathing room.

ENGAGING & TRADING

In the early game, Elise support thrives as an aggressive playmaker thanks to her strong base damage and pick potential. Her kit, normally designed for the jungle, translates well into the support role by offering crowd control, poke, and burst to pressure the enemy bot lane.

Trading and engaging often revolve around landing Cocoon to lock down a target, followed by weaving in damage from Volatile Spiderling and Neurotoxin. Once the enemy is stunned, your ADC can safely follow up and convert trades into kills or summoner spell burns. Even short trades are favorable because Elise’s burst-heavy kit punishes squishy champions who misstep.

Unlike many traditional supports, Elise also brings objective and jungle synergy. After securing lane pressure, she can leave her ADC briefly to shadow her jungler, speeding up camp clears with her spider form’s damage to monsters. This accelerates her jungler’s tempo, enabling earlier invades and more impactful ganks across the map—a strategy that gives her a unique edge compared to standard enchanters or tanks.

Vision control is key in the early game. Elise’s ability to threaten with long-range pick tools makes her excellent at contesting river wards and scouting enemy jungle paths. A well-timed roam or early jungle support can snowball her lane and spread pressure across mid and jungle, giving her team a strong early advantage.

TEAMFIGHTING & OBJECTIVES

As the game transitions into mid and late stages, Elise’s role shifts from pure laning pressure to map-wide playmaking. Her pick potential with Cocoon becomes central in team strategy: catching out-of-position enemies often results in easy kills and secured objectives. Proper positioning and vision denial amplify this strength, allowing her to control key choke points around Dragon and Baron.

In teamfights, Elise is not a frontliner—she excels when played as a secondary engager or flanker. Positioning on the edges of fights allows her to land decisive stuns, burst down priority squishy targets, and then use Rappel defensively to dodge key abilities or stall until her team follows up. She can also peel for her ADC by stunning divers, but her main value lies in disruption and assassination of vulnerable targets.

Objective control remains one of her biggest assets. By combining her damage with her jungler, Elise makes neutral objective fights much easier to secure. Her ability to zone with skillshots and punish mispositioned enemies can turn contested fights heavily in her team’s favor.

In the late game, where burst champions can struggle against tankier opponents, Elise’s value comes from vision control, picks, and utility. A single well-placed Cocoon can change the outcome of a fight. Even if she cannot instantly one-shot enemies, her ability to force key cooldowns and provide reliable lockdown ensures she remains a relevant and threatening support presence.

As a playmaker support, Elise stands as a beacon of strategic influence on the Summoner's Rift. With her ability to initiate and dictate the flow of team engagements, she transcends the traditional role of a support, becoming a pivotal figure in orchestrating macro-level plays. Whether it's leading the charge in coordinated jungle invasions, facilitating mid lane ganks with her crowd control prowess, or spearheading objective control with her disruptive presence, Elise embodies the essence of a Burst Mage support. In the hands of a skilled player, her strategic acumen and decisive actions can tilt the scales of battle in favor of her team, securing victories through calculated macro plays and unparalleled map control.
Mid lane ganks
As Elise, coordinating ganks on the mid lane can be highly effective, especially when accompanied by your jungler. Utilize your crowd control abilities to initiate and lock down enemy mid laners, creating opportunities for kills or summoner spell burns. Communicate with your mid laner and jungler to ensure successful ganks and capitalize on overextended opponents.
Jungle Invasions
Invading the enemy jungle alongside your jungler is a proactive way to establish vision control, deny resources, and apply pressure across the map. With your Burst-Combo a surpraise (E+Q+W+R+Q+W+aa) and crowd control, Elise can assist in securing kills or forcing enemy junglers out of their territory. Coordinate with your team to invade when you have lane priority and ensure proper vision coverage to avoid potential counterattacks.
Objective Control
Supporting your team in securing objectives like dragon is crucial for maintaining map control and securing victory. Use your crowd control to zone enemies away from contested areas, providing opportunities for your team to secure objectives safely. Additionally, coordinate with your team to set up vision around key objectives and rotate accordingly to contest or secure them when they spawn.
Map Awareness and Rotation
As a support, maintaining map awareness is paramount. Keep track of enemy movements, objectives timers, and potential gank opportunities to make informed decisions. Rotate efficiently between lanes and objectives to provide assistance where needed, whether it's protecting your ADC during sieges or roaming to assist other lanes in securing kills or objectives.
Baron Control
Having vision around the Baron pit is paramount when it comes to securing this game-changing objective. By placing wards in key areas like the river, enemy jungle entrances, and the Baron pit itself, your team gains essential information about the enemy team's movements. Vision around Baron allows your team to detect enemy attempts at sneaking the Baron, providing an opportunity for a decisive contest or potential pick on unsuspecting opponents. Additionally, vision around Baron can serve as a baiting tool, enticing the enemy into unfavorable fights and creating opportunities for your team to gain the upper hand.
Deep Jungle Wards
Placing deep wards in the enemy jungle can lead to successful picks and rotations. These wards grant your team insights into the enemy jungler's position and roaming patterns. Knowing where the enemy jungler is allows your laners to play more aggressively when the jungler is far away or set up plays when they spot the enemy jungler on the opposite side of the map. Additionally, deep wards in the enemy jungle enable your team to spot enemy rotations, leading to more informed decisions and strategic movements across the map.
Atakhan Control
Vision around Atakhan is key to map control and denying the enemy important buffs.

Ruinous Form (the Black): The slaying team is awarded the Spiritual Purification buff and all Blood Roses on the map automatically as well as Bloody Petals to enhance map pressure. Controlling or denying this form significantly boosts your team's power in teamfights and objective control, while preventing the enemy from gaining these advantages disrupts their strategy.

Denying him to the enemy, however, can hinder their ability to fight, control objectives, and maintain map pressure.
Elder Dragon Control
Vision around the Elder Dragon is crucial for securing one of the most powerful buffs in the game. The Elder Dragon provides a game-changing advantage that can swing teamfights and determine the outcome of objectives. Denying the Elder Dragon to the enemy team can be just as impactful as securing it for your own team.

When your team slays the Elder Dragon, it grants the Dragon's Fury buff. This buff enhances all of your champion’s damage, dealing additional burn damage to enemies based on their missing health. This burn damage is incredibly powerful, especially in the late game, where it can quickly melt down enemy champions and secure the win in teamfights. The Dragon's Fury buff lasts for a significant duration, and it gives your team a strong advantage when contesting other objectives like Baron or turrets.

On the other hand, denying the enemy the Elder Dragon stops them from gaining this powerful buff and can severely weaken their presence in late-game fights. If the enemy secures the Elder Dragon, they gain significant damage potential and can outlast your team in crucial fights. Vision control around the Elder Dragon pit is essential, as it provides crucial information about enemy rotations and attempts to secure the dragon. A well-timed steal or denial of this buff can delay the enemy's push and drastically change the momentum of the game.

In this section, I'll delve into bot lane matchups, focusing on how Elise support fares against various types of enemy supports. I'll categorize them based on their playstyles: engager-disengagers, peelers, tanks, mages, enchanters, poke mages, poke burst, and playmakers. It's important to note that some supports may fall into multiple categories, and item builds can significantly impact their playstyle. Additionally, the support matchup often holds more weight than the ADC matchup, particularly in higher elos, influencing lane dynamics and overall strategy.
Enchanter Champions

When playing Elise Support against Enchanters like Lulu, Soraka, and Sona, you need to adapt your approach due to their focus on shielding and healing their ADCs. Enchanters are designed to mitigate incoming damage and sustain their ADCs, which poses a challenge for Elise. Her explosive burst damage can be diminished by the consistent healing and shielding that these supports provide, making it harder to secure kills if they react promptly.

To overcome the defenses of Enchanters, timing is crucial. You should aim to engage when their key abilities are on cooldown. For instance, wait until Lulu has used her Whimsy or Soraka her Wish or Equinox before diving in. This way, you can maximize your impact when their defensive tools are unavailable. Consistently applying pressure and punishing mistakes are also key. By harassing the support and ADC relentlessly, you can force them into awkward positions, making it easier to land your high-damage combos.

Elise’s mobility allows you to position yourself effectively to exploit these windows of opportunity. Engage when the Enchanter is out of position or their abilities are on cooldown, and use your burst damage to eliminate them or significantly disrupt their ability to protect their ADC. Even if you don't secure an immediate kill, your role is to pressure and create openings for your team.

In teamfights, focus on targeting the Enchanter when they are separated from their ADC or when their defensive abilities are on cooldown. Elise’s ability to quickly eliminate key targets can be decisive in these scenarios. By maintaining constant pressure and seizing moments when the Enchanter is vulnerable, you can make a significant impact and tip the scales in your favor.

If you find that you are unable to gain an advantage in your lane, consider roaming to help other lanes or the jungle. Elise’s mobility and burst damage make her effective at assisting your midlaner or jungler in securing kills and creating opportunities elsewhere on the map. Roaming can help you snowball your team’s advantage and compensate for any difficulties you face in your lane.
Playmaker Champions

When playing Elise Support against playmakers and tanky supports like Pyke, Blitzcrank, Thresh, Rakan, Leona, Alistar, and Nautilus, your strategy must be adapted due to their aggressive and disruptive playstyles. These champions are designed to engage and create opportunities for their team, often with high crowd control and burst damage. This presents a unique challenge for Elise, who relies on precise engagements and high burst damage.

To counter these playmakers and tanks, positioning and timing are crucial. Engage carefully when their key crowd control abilities are on cooldown. For example, wait until Blitzcrank has used his Rocket Grab, or until Thresh has burned his Flay or Death Sentence. This approach helps you avoid their strong initiation and reduces their ability to lock you down or disrupt your burst combos.

Consistently applying pressure is key. Harass these champions when they try to engage or when their cooldowns are not available. By forcing them to use their abilities defensively, you can create openings and make it harder for them to capitalize on their engage tools. Elise’s mobility allows her to reposition effectively and exploit these moments of vulnerability.

In teamfights, focus on identifying and targeting the playmakers when they are separated from their team or when their crowd control abilities are on cooldown. Elise can take advantage of her burst damage to quickly eliminate these key disruptors, which can shift the balance of the fight in your favor. Even if you don’t secure an immediate kill, your role is to pressure and displace them to create opportunities for your team.

Poke-Burst Mage Champions

When playing Elise Support against poke-burst mages like Ziggs, Lux, Zilean, Morgana, Brand, and Vel'Koz, you need to adapt your approach due to their ability to inflict substantial damage from a distance. These champions are designed to poke and burst down enemies with high-range abilities, which can pose a challenge for Elise, who typically excels in close-range engagements and quick bursts.

To counter poke-burst mages, positioning and timing are key. Engage carefully when their major abilities are on cooldown. For example, wait until Ziggs has used his Satchel Charge or Lux has burned her Light Binding. This helps you avoid their high-damage skills and reduces their ability to harass or burst you down.

Consistently applying pressure is crucial. Harass these champions when their abilities are on cooldown or when they are positioned too aggressively. By forcing them to use their spells defensively or miss their skill shots, you can create openings for yourself and your team. Elise’s mobility allows her to dodge incoming skill shots and reposition effectively to capitalize on these windows of vulnerability.

In teamfights, focus on targeting the poke-burst mages when they are separated from their team or when their key abilities are on cooldown. Elise can leverage her burst damage to quickly eliminate these high-damage threats, which can help tilt the fight in your favor. Even if you don’t secure an immediate kill, your role is to apply pressure and disrupt their positioning to create opportunities for your team.
Peeler-Tank Champions

When playing Elise Support against peeler tanks like Tahm Kench, Thresh, Braum, Alistar, Nautilus, Leona, and Taric, you need to adjust your strategy due to their role in protecting and defending their team, particularly their ADCs. These champions are designed to absorb damage, apply crowd control, and shield their carries, which can pose a challenge for Elise, who relies on high burst damage and precision.

To handle these peeler tanks effectively, focus on positioning and timing. Engage when their crowd control and defensive abilities are on cooldown. For example, wait until Braum has used his Winter's Bite or Nautilus has burned his Dredge Line or Depth Charge. This approach reduces their ability to peel for their ADCs and disrupts your burst damage.

Consistently applying pressure is key. Harass these champions when they are vulnerable, either because their crowd control abilities are on cooldown or they are overextended. Forcing them to use their abilities defensively or reposition can create openings for you to exploit their ADC’s positioning. Elise’s mobility allows her to navigate around their defenses and capitalize on these moments of vulnerability.

In teamfights, focus on targeting the peeler tanks when they are separated from their ADCs or when their key defensive abilities are on cooldown. Use Elise's burst damage to quickly eliminate or disrupt these protective champions, shifting the fight’s dynamics in your favor. Even if you don’t secure an immediate kill, your role is to pressure and displace these tanks to create opportunities for your team.

If you encounter difficulties in your lane, consider roaming to assist other lanes or the jungle. Elise's mobility and burst damage make her effective at helping your midlaner or jungler secure kills and apply pressure across the map. Roaming can help you turn the tide in your favor and make up for any challenges you face against peeler tanks.

In this section, I'll explore the synergies between Elise support and various ADCs, focusing on their compatibility and effectiveness in different playstyles. I'll categorize ADCs based on their strengths and playstyles: Snowballing Champions, Long Range Hypercarries, Poke/High Range AD Carries, and Short Range All-In ADCs. It's crucial to understand these dynamics as they heavily influence lane dynamics and overall strategy, often outweighing the significance of the ADC matchup in higher elos.
Snowballing Champions

When paired with snowballing ADCs like Jhin, Draven, Tristana, Samira, Lucian, and Twitch, Elise Support can forge a highly effective and aggressive synergy. These ADCs excel at securing early kills and building substantial leads, which aligns perfectly with Elise's burst damage and ability to create high-impact plays.

With Jhin, Elise can capitalize on his ability to deal significant damage from a distance, especially when he can set up his critical hits. Elise’s crowd control and burst can create openings for Jhin to land his deadly shots and secure kills, leading to a powerful snowball effect.

Pairing with Draven, known for his aggressive early-game play and snowball potential, is particularly potent. Elise can help set up kills with her burst damage and crowd control, allowing Draven to accumulate his Adoration stacks and build an early lead. The combination of Draven's damage and Elise's ability to initiate and disrupt can dominate the lane and snowball the game.

When paired with Tristana, Elise can leverage her explosive burst to complement Tristana's jump and high damage. Tristana’s ability to dive in and deal damage up close pairs well with Elise's aggressive playstyle, creating a formidable duo that can pressure the enemy team and secure early kills.

With Samira, Elise can enhance her all-in potential. Samira’s ability to deal high damage in close quarters and her strong ultimate synergize well with Elise's burst damage and crowd control. Together, they can create devastating engages and capitalize on their combined damage to snowball the game.

Lucian’s mobility and rapid-fire attacks make him a great partner for Elise. Elise can initiate fights and apply pressure, allowing Lucian to follow up with his high burst damage. This synergy can quickly overwhelm opponents and create opportunities for both champions to secure kills and build a lead.

Lastly, with Twitch, Elise can set up kills by disrupting and catching enemies off guard. Twitch’s stealth and poison damage can be devastating when combined with Elise's burst damage. The combination of surprise attacks and high damage output can lead to a strong early-game advantage and successful snowballing.

In these pairings, effective coordination and aggressive play are crucial. Elise can use her burst damage and crowd control to set up kills and create pressure, while snowballing ADCs can capitalize on these opportunities to build leads and dominate the game. This synergy allows both champions to make a significant impact and drive the game in their favor.
Long Range Hypercarries

When paired with long-range hypercarries like Xayah, Aphelios, Vayne, Kog'Maw, and others, Elise Support can create a dynamic and potent synergy. These hypercarries excel in late-game scaling and sustained damage, and they benefit from the protection and positioning that Elise can provide. While Elise generally thrives in aggressive playstyles, she can adapt her approach to maximize the effectiveness of these hypercarries.

Among these champions, Vayne pairs particularly well with Elise. Vayne’s mobility and high damage output complement Elise’s aggressive playstyle, allowing them to capitalize on each other's strengths. Vayne can often engage enemies with her stealth and mobility, creating opportunities for Elise to follow up with her burst damage and disrupt the enemy backline. This synergy allows Elise to play aggressively, pressuring the enemy and securing kills, while Vayne scales into a formidable late-game threat.

On the other hand, while Xayah, Aphelios, and Kog'Maw are powerful hypercarries, they generally prefer a more passive lane phase to farm and scale. Elise's aggressive approach can sometimes be less synergistic with their slower-paced early games. However, Elise can still provide valuable pressure and crowd control to protect these ADCs during their scaling phase, helping them reach their full potential in the late game.
Poke/High Range AD Carries

When paired with poke/high-range ADCs like Miss Fortune, Caitlyn, Ezreal, Varus, and Ashe, Elise Support can create a highly synergistic and effective combination. These ADCs excel at dealing consistent damage from a distance and applying pressure through their ranged poke abilities, which complements Elise’s aggressive playstyle and high burst damage.

With these ADCs, Elise can take advantage of her ability to create opportunities through aggressive plays and crowd control. For instance, pairing with Miss Fortune allows Elise to set up potential kills with her burst damage, while Miss Fortune can follow up with her area-of-effect abilities to quickly clear out enemies. Similarly, with Caitlyn, Elise's burst damage can complement Caitlyn's long-range poke, making it easier to secure kills and maintain lane dominance.

Ezreal's mobility and poke damage work well with Elise's ability to quickly engage and burst down opponents, especially when combined with Ezreal's skill shots that can poke enemies from a distance. For Varus, Elise can help set up opportunities for his high-damage abilities, making it easier to secure kills and apply pressure. Lastly, with Ashe, Elise can capitalize on Ashe's crowd control and long-range poke, creating a formidable combo that can dominate the lane.

In this synergy, Elise can focus on engaging enemies and disrupting their positioning, while these high-range ADCs provide sustained damage and poke from a distance. This combination allows for a strong laning phase and effective pressure, enabling both Elise and her ADC partner to maximize their impact on the game. Effective communication and coordination are key to leveraging their combined strengths and securing a decisive advantage in lane.
Short Range All-In ADCs

When paired with short-range all-in ADCs like Kai'Sa, Tristana, Xayah, Lucian, Aphelios, Kalista, and Vayne, Elise Support can create a potent and aggressive synergy. These ADCs thrive in close-quarters combat and excel at diving onto enemies to secure kills, which aligns well with Elise’s burst damage and high mobility.

For ADCs like Kai'Sa and Tristana, Elise can capitalize on their ability to quickly close the gap and deal substantial damage up close. Kai'Sa’s passive and ultimate allow her to follow up on Elise's engages and burst, while Tristana’s explosive damage and jump make her a formidable partner in aggressive plays. Together, they can overwhelm opponents with coordinated all-ins.

When paired with Xayah and Lucian, Elise can synergize with their ability to engage and deal damage at close range. Xayah’s mobility and feathers make her a strong partner, as Elise can set up kills and disrupt enemies, allowing Xayah to follow through with her high burst damage. Similarly, Lucian’s rapid-fire and mobility complement Elise's burst, creating opportunities for fast and decisive kills.

With Aphelios and Kalista, the synergy relies on Elise’s ability to engage and create space for these ADCs to capitalize on their all-in potential. Aphelios's versatile damage and Kalista’s mobility and high damage output can turn aggressive plays into a significant advantage. Elise can help initiate fights and provide the burst needed to secure kills, while these ADCs deal the sustained damage required to finish off enemies.

Lastly, pairing with Vayne is particularly effective due to Vayne’s high mobility and damage in close combat. Elise's burst and crowd control can set up perfect opportunities for Vayne to deal damage and apply pressure. This combination allows both champions to leverage their strengths and dominate skirmishes.

In these pairings, effective communication and coordination are essential. Elise can initiate engages and provide burst damage, while short-range all-in ADCs can follow up with their close-quarters prowess to secure kills and apply consistent pressure. This synergy can create a powerful and aggressive lane presence, making it easier to control the game and secure objectives.
