Introduction
Welcome dear friends to topping nocturne like a boss!
This is my first attempt at making a guide so I hope you guys like what I've prepared for you. Even though it's not yet finished i would appreciate if you took some time to go through it, I will probably have it done by the end of the month. Nocturne is one of my top characters and since i don't see him played much, I wondered how to bring people to enjoy playing Nocturne as much as i do. I prefer this build for easy shotdowns of enemy carries and sustainability. Enjoy!.
Runes
greater mark of armor penetration is Nocturne's damage, since most of his damage comes from basic attacks.
Greater Seal of Armor helps Nocturne be able to fight those ad carries or enemy ad bruisers.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist because what could harass more an ad bruiser than an ap caster.
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage helps Nocturne deal more damage and start dealing good damage with Duskbringer.
Duskbringer is maxed out first since it's easy harass with intermediate damage. Also the trail provides with movement and attack speed.
Unspeakable Horror is my second choice to receive the cooldown for the fear.
Lastly Shroud of Darkness because it's hard to block and incoming ability, but still have it early for strong abilities such as a Darius Noxian Guillotine which is easy to block because of the delay.
The summoner spells I use are standard for bruisers since they can define the outcome of a battle. The rest of the spells are not included since they would not be as useful.
Ignite is a bruisers primary weapon, unless going jungling, ignite is preferred.
Flash is better for nocturne since his movement is greatly increased by his Duskbringer to catch up fleeing enemies or escape enemies with high crowd control.
Exhaust is also great at catching a fleeing enemy, but does not help against multiple enemies.
I understand the idea of laning Nocturne might seem a little far-fetched, but as I've tried it I have only received positive results. First time i tried it, I was trolling and I completely won top lane against a Talon. I have also defeated champions when they barely came out and still had op damage, such as Darius and Diana. I encourage you to try it out as well.
