Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Twitch, squishy yet sneaky and very dangerous. Twitch is great support due to his high attack speed and his poisonous abilities. He can turn the situation of a fight around due to his flanking abilities of stealth and his ultimate spray and pray.
Greater Mark of Desolation - Increases your Armor Pen by 2
Greater Seal of Alacrity - Increases your Attack Speed by .76%
Greater Glyph of Alacrity - Increases your Attack Speed by .64%
Greater Quintessence of Desolation - Increases your Armor Pen by 3.9
I shoot for Armor pen because its really helpful in the beginning of the game. It does a lot more damage then i do usually do without it. The other set of runes is for attack speed. Twitch attacks relies on attack speed so the more the better IMO. These runes so far are showing great results for me. If you think you have a better set of runes to use go ahead and use them. This set works good enough for me!
Deadly Venom (passive) - Twitch's attacks infect the target with Deadly Venom, which deals damage each second, stacks up to 6 times, and lasts up to 8 seconds.
Ambush - Twitch's stealth ability. Shooting a target while stealth will increase his attack speed significantly. This ability will always be used for scouting, ganking, and so forth.
Debilitating Poison - Twitch's poison that slows your target by 30%+8% for each stack of deadly venom you have on the target. This is a great support ability for yourself or your team. If your opponent begins to run, using this ability will increase your chances of catching up to them. This ability can be used on multiple targets within a certain radius. An example is if there was 100 enemies within your radius it would affect them all.
Expunge - Deals instant magic (30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 based on level) damage. The more stacks of deadly venom you have on your target, the more damage you will do. This ability is your main attack for finishing off your opponent. I suggest you have 6 stacks of deadly venom on your target before using it to dish out the most damage. Of coarse if your target is very low, use it when u can before he escapes. Just like Debilitating poison, it can affect multiple targets when used in a certain radius. This is why Twitch gets a lot of multi kills.
Spray and Pray (Ultimate) - Twitch's Ultimate attack. It increases your attack speed and shoots poisonous arrows in your frontward radius infecting your targets with Deadly Venom. This ability is extremely useful in a team fight in which u can infects the entire enemy team with Deadly Venom. Expunge afterwords to kill some killing blows!
Exhaust - This is my favorite because of its slowing effect and most of all its blinding. If your chasing, retreating, or going 1v1 with a melee champion always use this. This will give u the advantage against a melee champ to dish out some damage before you start to get hit after exhaust runs out.
Ghost - Increases your movement speed by 32% + 8% if you added Haste in your Utility masteries. You also avoid all unit collision which great when your retreating to chasing. Use this spell if your enemy begins to run or you need to run. Combine it with stealth for a quick get away.
Boots of Speed + 3 heal pots - These are my starting items. Basically boots will be used for a later upgrade into Berserker's Greaves and the heal pots are used for survivability. These items will help out during the first 6-8 levels.
Malady - An excellent item for twitch due to its 50% attack speed, 15% lifesteal, and its passive bonus. This will help keep Twtich alive while increasing his dps. Be wary, even though you have lifesteal, it wont heal you a lot during the earlier levels especially against 1v1 fight with another champ. Its greatly helpful when attacking minions and when your hp is not at full.
Berserker's Greaves - Upgrade your Boots of Speed to this. It gives Twitch walking speed to Enhanced movement 2 and it gives a good amount of attack speed (25%). Usually my 2nd or 3rd item after malady. Upgrade your boots when you can to increase your ganking efforts.
Infinity Edge - This item will say GG to the opposite team. Its 80+ Attack Dmg and 20% Crit chance + its Amazing Bonus of increasing your crit dmg to 250% will get you a lot of kills. This is usually my 3rd item after getting Berzerker greaves and Malady. Of coarse i don't buy the whole thing at first...I go for Pick axe and Cloak of Agility first then afterwords i get BF sword which is then upgraded to Infinity Edge.
Phantom Dancer - The multiple bonuses on this item greatly helps out Twitch. Its increase speed on both attack (45%) and movement (15%) is a must. Its increase critical chance (30%) is another must due to the passive effect of Infinity Edge. Your Critical Chance will probably stand around 50%. The extra 20% dodge is another good effect to have but not as useful as the other effects.
Black Cleaver - Usually my 5th item. It increases your attack damage by 75+ and its passive reduces your armor by 12 for each hit (up to 5 stacks) for 5 seconds. This item is especially great for tanks due to its passive. Your ultimate spray and pray will also proc black cleaver's effect on to all of your targets which will greatly help with those team kills.
Madred Bloodrazor or Bloodthirster - Depends on the siuation. If your going against an opponent with a lot of health go for madred's due to its unique passive of dealing Magic damage equal to 4% of the target's maximum health. It also increase your attack damage by 35+ and attack speed by 40%. If you want to destroy the other team and do even more damage get Bloodthirster. It increases your attack dmg by 60+ and 15% life steal. Its passive bonus is that it gives an additional 1 Physical Damage and 0.25% Life Steal per kill. Maximum of +40 Damage and +10% Lifesteal. Make sure you don't die otherwise you will lose those bonuses.
Summoner's Rift Guide
Start off by buying boots of speed and 3 health pots. Ive seen other people buy vamp first but i really don't prefer it due to it being less effective for me. Take either Top or Bottom side. Solo only if you have to otherwise don't because your more effective ganking with your teammate. I can usually get first blood during the first 5 mins of the game, but of coarse it depends on who your teammate is. Your first spell should be Ambush to do a quick scouting in the bushes to see who and where your enemy is. When minions are finally in battle, play safe and attack by your turret. You are EXTREMELY squishy especially during the low levels so always think carefully.
For the next 2 levels you should get Expunge and then debilitating poison. These 2 other abilities will get you set up for a gank. If you think you can kill your enemy, always find an area where they cant see you and stealth to them. That way you take a more preemptive strike and your attack speed will increase. Try to stack as much Deadly venom in before using debilitating poison or expunge. If they get too far away just activate expunge and hopefully the champ will die or have to recall.
As you begin to rise up the levels, push very carefully by watching the map and hopefully your team is calling out the MIA's. Once you reach level 6 you should be able to buy a vampric sepecter and berserker greaves. Or maybe you been fighting for awhile and have about 2k gold, go straight for malady and then get your greaves. At level 6 you can start ganking a lot better due to spray and pray. If you ever see the mid enemy champ getting low, attempt a gank if your side (top or bottom) is doing fine and that turret is not taking hefty damage. Tell your partner that your setting up a gank so that they don't blame you for their death lol.
As time progress and you reach around level 9-11, you should be able to solo champs and farm. Make sure you farm in reasonable times and not when the entire enemy team is attacking a turret. The lizard lord slow buff benefit is a good thing to look for and if golem is up go for it if no ones gotten it yet. Mana regen is always good! At level 10-14 you should be able to get Infinity's Edge soon, well that is if you got some champ kills and been racking up them minion kills. Go for pick axe and cloak of agility first and then get your BF sword after if you don't have the money to buy a full Infinity Edge. With that item in your hand you should be doing some major damage, especially with spray and pray. But even with Infinity in your hands always be careful in attempting ganks. Make sure your enemy is not powerful as you and that you can get a safe getaway after killing him. Getting a high amount of kills with no deaths will always benefit yourself and your team.
Push with your team to down some turrets and maybe some kills. Try to be really sneaky and let your team execute a fight with the other team for a couple of seconds before attacking. That way you get a preemptive strike with spray and pray and they wont know what hit them. If you attack them as soon as you enter the battlefield, they will most likely attack you first and you wont be much help to your team if your dead.
At this point when your around level 14-18, you should be able to get phantom dancer to increase your crit and speed. To start phantom dancer, I usually buy the Crit chance items first before the speed to increase your chances of Infinity Edge's passive ability. I can usually end the game at this point with only 4 items in hand but if it continues on get a Black Cleaver and a Madred's Bloodrazor or Bloodthirster. Try to finish the game as fast as possible because if the enemy team becomes too powerful, you wont be able to completely pwned them anymore. You should be able to farm anything with ease except Baron Nashor. Bring your team for that monster kill heh.
-Twitch can be the Game breaker with his poison abilities. You will able to lead in kills and assists! Always stick with your team to be successful in an ace and pushing forward with ease.
-If turret is being attack by one to three champs use spray and pray to scare them off. Most likely they will see your poison stack and begin to run for awhile until reinforcements come by. IF the whole team is attacking the turret, there is nothing much you can do but stealth away and wait for your team.
-Twitch can be extremely vulnerable if the enemy contains an oracle elixir or if they have vision wards placed around the map. Be wary and don't creep very far from your team if you know they have this advantage. This is what usually kills me.
-Fighting Combos: Usually i Ambush for awhile to gain more seconds for my increase attack speed then i execute my auto attack and wait for it to hit 6 stacks of deadly venom which shouldn't take long with a fast attack speed. Next I Debilitating Poison them and constantly auto attack them until they are low enough to die by expunge. You don't want to expunge them immediately because once you do, your stack of deadly venom will be gone. I continue my attack so that my venom continues to damage over time dealing more dps and when they are out of my grasp of attack range, i expunge them which hopefully will kill them or make them recall. If you cannot get 6 stacks of venom fast, get as much as you can and debilitate them so that you can continue to increase the stack of venom. Debilitated poison does not get rid your deadly venom stack.
Twitch is champion that will take some time to get used to. This guide is to help you with the basics so that you can develop your own "way" of playing Twitch and using his unique abilities to your advantage. Keep playing until you fully understand his style. Know your limits and you will destroy the competition! Have fun i hope this helps!
