Urgot appealed to me more than most champions when he came out due to his unique abilities. A position swap and a homing missile? Never seen that before. I see some pretty decent builds floating around MOBAFire, but it seems to me like they still aren't right. Urgot is a lot like Ezreal. His Acid Hunter skill is almost identical to Mystic Shot, except that it doesn't apply on-hit effects. That is a fair trade-off for the slow of Terror Capacitor to work with it, however. You will see that my build is very similar to an AD Ezreal build.

Always a good starting item for any champ. Especially good for Urgot. It gives him health for added survivability, and mana regen to help harass.


Perfect item for Urgot. It gives him damage to help with Acid Hunter, and decreases cooldown, which you will need to be able to cycle your abilities more often.

I almost always pick Mercucry's Treads on Urgot. CC will be the end of him, so reducing it is a must. I don't really see how other boots can compare to a 35% decrease in CC anyway.

You will be spamming your Acid Hunter when attacking the enemy, so Sheen will proc quite often. It is a must

Now you want to upgrade your Sheen into a Trinity Force The movespeed and survivability is very nice, and the extra 50% damage is useful.

This is the last item of your core build. At this point in the game your damage won't be as big as it was Early/Mid game, so we get this to make up for it.

Summoner Abilities

Since Urgot has no escape mechanism, I like to take Ghost and Flash as summoner abilities to get out of those sticky situations.

Greater Mark of Desolationis very helpful for early game damage. When stacked on top of your The Brutalizer you will deal true damage to most champions who aren't stacking armor.

Greater Seal of Scaling Mana Regenerationis necessary for early harassment since the mana regen is neede to spam your abilities.

Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction are helpful since Urgot needs cooldown reduction to spam his abilty cycle. There aren't many options for Glyphs, so this is the most viable for Urgot.

Greater Quintessence of Health is always a nice choice for Quints because it will make a big difference in those Early Game bouts. You can go with Greater Quintessence of Desolation however if you want more damage instead of survivability.


Early Game
You want to grab your Doran's Ring and Health Potion and head mid. It isn't necessary to go mid, but it is better than a side lane because Urgot is very powerful Early Game, giving you the opportunity to shut down the enemies' carry. Also, going in a side lane will hurt Urgot's farming, and he needs to get The Brutalizer pretty fast. Just play defensive and last hit until level 2. This is when the fun begins. Hit the enemy with Noxian Corrosive Charge and then homing Acid Hunter. You should be able to land 3 Acid Hunter in the time Noxian Corrosive Charge is infecting the enemy. This will do a lot of damage to the enemy, most likely around half their health. Just continue doing this and try to land some kills. Once you get Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser you can mix that in as well. On your first trip back you want to get your Boots of Speed and start The Brutalizer

Mid Game
Once you hit level 6 you can easily gank some side lanes. Just open with Noxian Corrosive Charge and Acid Hunter and when those wear off use Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser to pull the enemy in closer to you and your team to finish them. Don't forget to use Terror Capacitor as well for the slow. Once you hit around level 9 and have The Brutalizer you can jungle some buffs to help your ganking. You want to take advantage of Urgot's mid game damage and gank as often as possible. Don't fall behind in levels though. By the end of Mid Game you want to at least have your Sheen and hopefully part of your Trinity Force. It is up to you on whether to get the Zeal or Phage first. I usually prefer the Phage for the survivability, but you can get the Zeal for the movement speed as well.

Late Game
Urgot's damage won't be as devastating Late Game, so you want to try and get The Bloodthirster as soon as possible. One of the biggest mistakes I see Urgot's making Late Game is using Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser at the beginning of a team fight to bring an enemy closer to his team. DON'T DO THIS! You will more than likely die after doing this because you will be brought into their team as well, so you will be nuked down before you can say "That was a mistake". You want to use Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser to finish off stragglers. You want to focus down their squishy of course. I find it easy to hold the space bar when trying to hit them with Acid Hunter since your cursor should stay on them.
