Can I get a detailed explanation on why you prefer not to get tear??

It simply takes too long to scale up, Kassadin already takes a while to come online and Tear of the Goddess delays that even further for mana that's usually overkill, and then on top of that it means you have to skip out on either Rabadon's Deathcap or Void Staff.

Is there any point of taking Electrocute on Kassadin or is Summon Aery better?

Vapora Dark (548) | January 27, 2018 1:42am
Summon Aery is better since Kassadin can't easily proc Electrocute until level 6.

Summon Aery is better since Kassadin can't easily proc Electrocute until level 6.

What about Arcane Comet seems to have a better winrate and better damage in lane.

It's actually what you're meant to do, I hadn't realized that I haven't updated that.

Hello Vapora, i'm new to Kassadin but really love playing him. I love your guide, and I understand why building Rod of Ages is important, but a friend of mine mains Kassadin and always builds Hextech-GLP instead of Rod of Ages. Is this viable?

It's viable, but Rod of Ages is better.

Hello, new Kassadin player here (3 pvps). I've been playing around with two different builds on Kassadin depending on who I'm laning against. The first builds is the ROA / Ionian build outlined in this guide. The second build is a build that I made myself.

My build consists of starting with a Sapphire Crystal for +250 mana leaving me with 150 gold. I use the remaining gold on either 3 pots, a refillable, or a faerie charm. If I started with the faerie charm then at 1,100 gold I'm able to back and pick up a tear and the Lost Chapter, or if I need to back early the tear is only 275 gold and I can grab other items to go with it. After I have finished the Morellonomicon I go into my Lich Bane (Although I have been considering going straight into Lichbane after the Lost Chapter).

At some point depending on the situation I grab Sorc Shoes, which cost me 750 since I use magical footwear. I like having Magical footwear in my secondary tree for the +10 move speed, but mostly because I enjoy the +5% CD that comes out of the tree. Increases total CD to 45%, starts the game with 5%, and reduces summoner spells as well.

The synergy between a Seraphs / Arch Angel and the mana provided by Morrelonomicon and Lich Bane makes the staff pack a massive punch. My full build is: Seraphs, Sorc Shoes, Morrelonomicon, Lich Bane, Hat, and Void staff. This build totals out to 750 AP from items alone, not counting AP gained from runes. The mana gained in this build massively increases your Rift Walk damage, while the AP spike increases everything else as well, most noticable would be Lich Bane damage. The passive on Arch angel of restoring 25% mana is definitely note worthy as well, reducing a full charged ult from 800 to 600 mana. The ROA build totals out at 607 AP. The gold difference between the builds is 500g.

I was wondering what your opinion is on this build? Is it worth pursuing? Why or why not?

As I stated earlier, I build it based on who I'm laning against, when I'm against AD Assassin's I tend to go with ROA/Hourglass. I really enjoy playing Kassadin and plan to invest a lot more time into gameplay in him in the future.

Rod of Ages is 100% necessary on Kassadin since it also gives him a lot of extra tankiness, and it gets him the stats he needs ASAP. Tear of the Goddess builds take too long to scale, and if you're not using it in combination with Rod of Ages then you're also lacking HP (plus all the HP sustain that comes with RoA's passive) which is a stat Kassadin also welcomes dearly.

I JUST tested the build combinations against the same diamond player with the same champions. The power difference is extremely noticable early game when you start ROA instead of Tear and Book. And as any decent player knows, early game lane presence is extremely important, not to mention that games tend to not go into late game / full build. So the RoA build focuses on the most important stage of the game.

I have voted for your guide and favorited it. Thanks for your input.

Everybody tells me to take electrocute over aery, why do you take aery instead of electrocute?

[-]
Vapora Dark (548) | December 7, 2017 1:02am
Electrocute is a noob trap on Kassadin, it looks like it makes sense on him but Summon Aery is much better since he can proc it so much more easily in lane.

What are your thoughts on using Domination for your secondary instead of precision? I feel like Sudden Impact would work great with Riftwalk.

Vapora Dark (548) | December 6, 2017 2:48pm
Yeah Domination works fine too, honestly Domination and Precision are pretty close in strength IMO. Hard to say which is better for sure.

Have you tried using Archangel's staff and upgrading it to seperah's embrace? I feel like that would be a huge thing for kassadin as it gives him a lot of AP and an ungodly amount of mana

There's not enough item slots to fit an extra item like Tear of the Goddess into Kassadin's build.

Have you ever tried substituting out an item in your build for what was suggested above? I'm really curious as to how it would affect Kass's gameplay

Great guide but i have one question: Why not pick comet over summon aery? If you land your E it is almost guarateed that comet will hit. Also when i finished last game i noticed that i shielded ally with aery two times, any idea how is that possible? I thought maybe if you cast E or ult and no enemy is nearby your ally gets the shield but i am not sure.

Vapora Dark (548) | November 14, 2017 2:39pm
Aery is better because E isn't very spammable while Q is, and so Aery strongly increases the strength of your Q poke.

And I have no idea why that would be lol, unless you took Heal.

Thank you for quick response. No i didn´t take heal, I think it might just be a bug.

Vapora here thinks the mobafire community is full of idiots so i will show him he is wrong now. Here is the link to his op.gg account:https://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=vaporadark if you see his kassadin stats he is well below average. I mean 36% win rate 11 games 1.92 kda 153 cs and he has the nerve to make a kassadin guide. So by doing this he basicaly says if you are challenger you have the right to make any guide with any champion you want and people will follow you. That is wrong. He may be challenger but he went there by playing adc not mid and clearly not kassadin. Dont make a generic guide that most of it is coppied from champion.gg just to get points in this site and be first. This is what i had to say the rest is up to you guys. Oh and lastly vapora put a link to your op.gg page so people can see if you can win with your build what are you afraid of that they will see the truth.

lol

My Kassadin stats in season 6.

My Kassadin stats on my D5 MMR midlane-only smurf.

My season 4 Kassadin stats where I spammed him from P3 to D5 and went 13-0.

I'm not the best Kass in the world, but you literally cherrypicked the only account where I had a single bad season, where I still had a relatively small sample size. I had like 400 Tristana games played in season 6 whom I got to D1 with, meanwhile this season I started off with 2-10 Tristana winrate. Now it's still 17-19. Does that make me unfit to keep my Tristana guide?

All you proved was Kassadin isn't my best champion because I haven't thus far had great results with him (though I did have some good games) at a D1/master level, which is where those stats come from. I still feel comfortable writing a guide on him though because I know I could easily climb from unranked to Diamond with him, just like I can on any ADC. I don't need to be able to play a champion at my highest possible level just to teach the champion to what for the most part is going to be bronze-plats who know nothing about Kassadin. And no, I'm not going to create a new account to unranked-to-Diamond from for every single champion I write a guide for just to prove to people like you that I can play them at a higher level than 99% of the playerbase.

And P.S., there are champions I'd have much rather written a guide for than Kassadin, but my objective first and foremost when writing guides is to replace poor top rated guides. The top rated Kassadin guide at the time used Teleport Ignite and built wrong, so I knew I could do a far better job at representing MOBAFire on this champion that I was plenty familiar with, even if he's not my best champion.

The guy you are reffering too atleast played with the champion and had above average stats with him and by his stats he proved that his build worked and every comment he had was positive. Also he brought something new to the table. You dont use links to your accounts and you have the aame build champion.gg has and the only reason people read your guide is because they see your challenger badge and think you are some kind of god but unlike them i know better you went there playing adc not kassadin so make guides with the champions you main. Lastly you may had these stats previus season but the game has changed alot since then. And as far as i am concerned the only way to judge if a build is wrong or not is by testing it and see if it actually works or not. Also if he was challenger with that build would that make the build correct.
