Introduction

The world is not always as civilized as people might think. There are still those who would follow the blackest paths of magic and become corrupted by the darker powers that flow through Runeterra. Shauna Vayne knows this fact well. As a young privileged girl in the heart of Demacia's elite, her father tried to convince her of the constabulary's ever-vigilant eye. Young and naïve, she truly believed that her world was one of perfect safety... until one night, when a twisted witch took interest in her father. The malevolent woman overcame her father's conciliar guard, then tortured her family before murdering them. The young Shauna escaped only by hiding herself and then fleeing once the hag had departed, plagued by the screams of her loved ones as she ran. A burning hatred was born in her that day, one that could never be denied.

Vayne was able to take care of herself using her father's money, and she began to train as soon as an instructor would have her as a student. By the time she was a fully grown woman, she had become a grim warrior. However, the fields of battle were not to be her home. Demacia needed a protector, one who hunted those lost to the darkness. Shauna used her family's contacts to become the first Night Hunter, and now her prowess is the stuff of legends. It is said that those who practice the black arts quake when they hear that the Night Hunter is on the prowl. Despite her crusade, Shauna has looked at the League of Legends in horror. There are champions who have clearly lost themselves to the blackest of magics, and who have been embraced within the League even though they should be put down for the safety of all. The time has come for the Night Hunter to execute her secret mission – to purge the League of Legends.

Items

For a start let my just explain my item build. I start normaly with Doran's Blade . If you don't like Doran's items you can start with Dagger, but I recommend using Doran's Blade because it gives you enough HP and damage for a start. Everyone says that Vayne is very squishy champion. I strongly disagree with those people.

When building Vayne, I try to "unsquish" her as fast as I can. You'll do that very easy by buying Boots of Swiftness and Zeal . I don't want to talk about how usefull her passive becomes. You can do this if you farm properly untill level 6. If you'r skilled with Vayne, you can dominate middle and do that untill level 4. Those 2 items are most important in this build. Ok, now the fun part can start.

Zeal doesn't give you enough attack speed which is the most important component with Vayne because her combos must be fast and hurtfull. So, you buy Recurve Bow . Now you have enough attack speed to own every champion in a game (that's not fed like **** of course). In this part of a game you can choose if you'd rather buy B.F. Sword or Phantom Dancer . In most cases i pick phantom dancer because of movement speed + attack speed + critical strike chance. After you bought those 2 items you can start to build your damage for serious. When you buy Black Cleaver you should be dominating all over the map. With symbiose of attack damage and attack speed you should carry your team to easy victory. Infinity Edge you can use to power up your damage more + you get more critical strike which is great if you consider you have a Phantom Dancer. Your critical strike chance should be 50% which is more than enough. Last item is Frozen Mallet . I pick this item only because I want to make my opponents to go crazy and flame some more. Now you can own every single burst damager and other op champs. They can cast their combo and run like they always do but it is of no use to them.

Summoner Spells

For summoner spells I usually pick:

Ghost

Flash

I think that those two summoner spells are ideal for Vayne because she is mainly a hunter, so you have to hunt your opponents down. You don't need Exhaust because you are much faster than most champion in League of legends. I saw some players that uses Exhaust or Ignite. Ignite Is useful only for first blood but in late game it won't be of any use because you'll do huge damage and there's no chance that your opponent will succeed to run with 1 hp.

Ghost and Flash are also useful to run away from combats or to save yourself from ganks. You can combine them with your ultimate.

Pros / Cons

Pros:

- very hard to catch
- one of the best dps in the game
- great burst damage in late game
- can get rid of Tryndamere and similar champions with Condemn
- easy mid champion and very useful in team fights
- great harass

Cons:

- low hp
- low mana pool at the beginning
- weak against attack speed "slowers" like Ezreal or Nasus
- needs a skilled player to play her

Play style

MID:

I play try to play Vayne in mid as much as I can. When the game begins I start to farm minions as much as I can. When I see that my opponent have settled down I start to harass him with Tumble. I've realized that 80% of players becomes very nervous if I don't play too aggressive from the start. When I get my opponent to 40% hp I let him push a little bit to my turret. When he's near I hunt him down with Tumble and just follow him and shooting until he gets to his turret. If he's low I turret dive and flash in nearest bushes and I run back to my turret because I don't want to be ganked. That works with many champions. The only one that can present a maximum danger is Le'Blanc. I mean, she has amazing burst damage on level 6 even with 0/0/0. You can check if she's skillfull enough, if not then you can end her misery with Condemn but if she own's you in mid you can try to push her because you do higher damage on minions than her and rely on ganking bot and top.

IN LANE:

Vayne in lane is really great as well. Your lane partner will be happy if you use Condemn in a right time. You can harass your opponents with auto attack because of her great range and run+shot with Tumble if you need to. I love to lane with Vayne or play her. She's awsome ganker until and during mid game and great dps/burst damager in late game. Your Condemn is really usefull in team fights because you can interrupt Warwick or Katarina ulti.
