Intro
I prefer to use 9/0/21 for my masteries. I like this setup because it allows me to be able to use my
more often, and I also get increased gold and experience. I used to go 21/0/9, but I found that indeed it did allow me to do more damage to my enemy at first, but in the long run, the 9/0/21 masteries allowed me to use my abilities more often, which in return allowed me to do more damage to my opponent.
Honestly, there are many different paths you can take "item wise" with Veigar. But, all of these paths basically require you to have
Deathfire grasp is an amazing item on Veigar. With its active capabilities + Veigars Q, W, and R, you can burst down most champions with ease.
So I figured, since Deathfire Grasp requires kage's lucky pick then you can just wait a little longer to complete the item, in return allowing you to increase your maximum gold.
Sadly though, since the patch that made kage's lucky pick "unique", you cannot successfully stack these anymore, so...why not get the other "gold per 10 sec" items that are useful on Veigar? It's a great idea honestly, because when you have the 3 useful gold per 10 sec items, then you are greatly increasing the amount of gold you are able to get.

I get my skills in the basic order of importance:
is Veigar's bread and butter. This ability is what allows Veigar to achieve very high amounts of AP. Leveling up this ability first will maximize your AP.
is my safety mechanism on Veigar. Since it's a stun, wait, not just a stun....and AoE stun, I always get this second, and level it up last. My reason for doing this is so that I can get away when I have to, or advance and get a kill whenever I please.
So with those two out of the way, that leaves and
I always level up dark matter second, because it's basically an AoE nuke, and it goes great with event horizon.
Now for primordial burst. This ability does tons of damage. Especially against your AP enemies. Always level this up when you can, because of its massive damage output, it can save your life a few times.
