Introduction

Shaco, the Demon Jester. Nothing feels better than to gank just about any toon without fail. Shaco is a very unique champion with a very useful skill set. In this guide, I will tell you how I play him. Regardless of common way to use shaco, I do extremely well with my build and style, and I hope it works for you as well!

Runes

Now, I know that you saw all critical damage runes. You probably thought, is this a joke? But no, I'm completely serious. From level 1 Deceive, and especially at 5, your damage output with that critical is massive. Especially since you build an infinity edge. You can switch some seals and glyphs around however you like. But personally, the critical damage is insane for me.

Masteries

I prefer 21-0-9 mostly because Utility Mastery is still obtainable. The 15% helps alot with golem and lizard. Otherwise it's pretty basic crit and attack masteries.

Items

Okay, these items are some basics for shaco, and some far out ones. I start off with my boots for the movement speed (It combos very nicely with Shiv's passive slow as well as the active), and some health pots. The very first main item i build, it essential for me. Wriggles Lantern. The damage, life steal, free ward, and the 20% chance to 500dmg minions is a must have. Early game this makes your survivability raise drastically. After wriggles, I just default to the boots. Movement speed is always nice. I prefer to keep the Mobility boots because of their, well, mobility! As shaco, you need to be moving and ganking constantly, these boots help that cause immensely. After the basics, I work on attack speed with Sword of the divine. It's passive stacks with shaco's clone, making it 100 damage every 2 hits if you are both attack a single target. That is one hell of a punch. The main part of this build is the Infinity Edge. Now I know some of you will comment and ask why i don't have more critical items if I'm basing it off of Inifnty(i.e. Phantom Dancers), but between the runes and attack speed. It's all you need. Once you obtain this. The game is likely to be over, or it's in the bag for you. After Infinity, just stacking damage and effect items. Helps the clone and yourself.

Skill Sequence

This is the "glory" of the way I play Shaco. Unlike other builds, after getting all 3 basic skills, I max shiv as fast as possible(still putting a point into ult whenever I can), Deceive, Ult, and Jack In The Box. The whole point, is to harass as much as possible with Shiv in the lane until you can get them to half health. As long as Shiv isn't on cooldown, with a good deceive from the back, you can take down almost any champ.

Summoner Spells

So you most likely saw Flash and thought "WAT TEH FAK R U DOEN???" BUT, Flash allows me the extra slap to the face when the enemy is just out of range to die, and my blink is on cooldown. It also allows for some insane acrobatics. Ignite is pretty straight forward, just use it to stop people from healing full, or use it as a last drain while they run, and you laugh!

Team Work

Team Work. 'Nuffsaid. ANY good team works together. Whether you're playing solo, or pre-made, you NEED to be a TEAM. Because Shaco can blink through any wall in the game, use it to your advantage, instead of going to a bush, sit behind a wall. Blink to them, and that's a kill! Always ping for you teams target, and aim for squishies. The tank can do much once you have Madreds Bloodrazor, and if the other team is mostly all tanks. It is acceptable to get it before Inifinty Edge.

Farming

Easier said than done if the other team has mostly long range toons. As Shaco, I focus "last hitting" minions, so I can farm decently(Since I don't jungle until a few levels into the game, and even then, usually only for buffs, and on the way to ganks). The good thing is, you're bound to get some nice kills. And that makes up for a ton of gold, if you can't manage to last hit efficiently.

Summary

In a nutshell, Shaco is a very sneaky assassin, that shouldn't be under-estimated when played correctly. Make sure you keep your Jack In the Boxes in bushes, even get creative. Place 4 or 5 in there, draw the enemy, and watch them QQ in chat when you slap them in the bush. And ALWAYS remember. "Now you see me, now you don't!"
