Introduction

Hey guys. Just a little info bout myself real quick, I'm fairly new to league of legends but have met with relativity good success so far. I have received a lot of good advice from you guys here on mobafire and feel like I should give something back. As such I have decided to make a build for my favorite champ in the League Wukong. I hope you find this helpful whomever you are. See you on the Fields of Justice!

Summary

OK to be clear I don't agree with the general assumption that Wukong has to be a solo top. I in fact prefer to use him bot lane with a support champ like Taric or Sona to make up for his weaknesses. This build is designed around that idea, so there will be some strange setups.

I also would like to point out that this build has gone through a few reworks so the first two comments are no longer valid.

Now this build focuses on your AD damage output which is Wukong's primary attribute. It will also include a few tips and tricks I have picked up over the year I've been Playing LoL.

Hope you enjoy the build whomever you are!

Runes

OK so first of are the runes. I'm gonna make this fast. I know allot of people prefer to use a blend of runes to make up for the weaknesses of their fave champs, but not I.

I Take all AD per level runes in every category, maximizing my AD output both early on and by a huge amount late game.

Masteries

With the Masteries you can build off of my build in the order of your preference.

Items

The Items I have listed should be built in that order.

The Dorans gives you the extra bump in AD and when combined with your runes you can hit 100 AD easily at LvL 5 or 6. I prefer the Berserkers Greaves due to Wukongs low attack speed.

The Wriggles not only gives you a boost in armor and AD but life steal allowing your support to conserve a bit of mana for the really important heals.

The Infinity Edge should be obvious. I build it in its basic order starting with BFS then the Pick and lastly the cloak. this gives you the AD boost your going to need as the laneing phase begins to wrap up.

I added the Phantom Dancer after realizing that Wu's attack speed and movement were still a bit on the sluggish side. It also gives you a higher crit chance that stacks with the IE as well as a crit damage boost.

The Black Cleaver gives you more AD as well as attack speed and its armor shred comes in handy when combined with Wukong's Q.

For the end of the build I sell the dorans and grab a Bloodthirser. Again this Item gives you more AD and some bonus life steal, and at this point in the game achieving max stacks should be a breeze.

Finally now that you have your full build you can buy some Elixirs as they auto consume if you have no available slots open. Buy these as needed but try to have them all at once if possible.

Pros / Cons

This build does very well in both 1v1 situations as well as team fights (due to Wukong's passive). Remember to watch your health, and if it drops to low don't be afraid to pop Heal.

Remember not to go it alone. While Wukong does have nice escapeability with his decoy, ulti knock up and his abiility to jump to minions but its easy to be focused down.

Tips for playing Wukong

Stop Juking: Alot of people will just continue on when you decoy assuming that is is just that, but with a quick press of the S key you can stop moving and let them pass you by.

Bush swapping/Teleporting Kong: Use your decoy before switching bushes to hide your movements. You can also decoy before leaving a bush for an attack in order to allow you to move closer to your target before using nimbus strike. This makes it seem as if you have simply appeared out of nowhere.

Skillshot Catching: Remember that most skillshots like Ashe's for example don't pierce their target. You can use your decoy to catch them and save yourself or a teammate from a potentaly fatal blow.

Nimbus Escape: Place your wriggles ward near wraiths and then you can jump over the wall to said enemys while running from the opposing team. This also works on their own minions!
