So an album featuring one of the greatest rappers of all time with one of the greatest rock bands of all time is bad?
1. assuming both are good, are you implying that two good things togheter are forcefully good?
2. it was a surprise for fans. not a work worthy of an album. if i wanted that i'd just hire a dj to do it (kinda).
3. there are way better rappers, unfortunate enough to not be as smart as Jay-Z
4. Linkin Park's geniously good albums:
- Hybrid theory
- Meteora (i'm being nice today)
either way....
Note: point1, taking advandage of a flawed conclusion. valid, nonetheless.
point2, i always expect albuns to have original work (even live ones. the way it is presented is not pleasing to me. actually seemed just a marketing/corporate maneuver because both were taking their time to produce new stuff)
point3, jay-z has no characteristic ability like Snoop or Busta Rymes have. He just played smart all the time.
point4, after Meteora, Linkin Park seems to take a heavy blow because songs lose their electronic unpredictability, especially patented in Hybrid theory.
point5, maybe they are rock now, and thats their loss, imo. they had so much more, instrumentally. Now they barely seem bots. No depth, no inteligence in their music.

edit: i actually forgot to mention how underwhelming "Numb" is, in every single way (like, wth was it played 24/7 on Mtv, at the time. I like it, but it was making me tired of it. "Faint"/"Breaking a Habbit" were way more interesting as a Linkin park product, yet they barely had 15 min of fame.
I just watched that movie. It was ok. Like with most American comedy is had some cringeworthy and incredibly stupid moments that really detracted from the experience.
I really liked the song at the end though (this song). It's also pretty hilarious if you've seen the movie.

That really doesn't have to do with taste, obviously.
