What Does Spell Vamp Do?

Spell Vamp grants the attacker a percentage of their damage, dealt via spells and abilities, back as health. This only applies to skills that do not apply on hit effects (such as Kennen's Thundering Shuriken and Brand's Sear). This also only applies for spells with AP (Ability Power) ratios, hence Caitlyn's Piltover Peacemaker does not receive any benefit from Spell Vamp because it scales off of Attack Damage.

It is important to note that Spell Vamp will only do 33% of however much you have Spell Vamp you have if you use an AoE spell. As an example, if Brand uses his Pillar of Flame at rank 5 on 2 minions with a Hextech Revolver, he will only get 255 x 0.12 x (0.33 x 2) worth of health. This is in place to stop people healing absurd amounts from minion waves. However, if a spell has some form of multi/single target effect change (such as Mace of Spades) it will only heal 33% if you hit more than one. Spells such as Ahri's Fox Fire which just count as multiple instances of single target spells (as they only hit one each) will apply the full 100% of your spell vamp.

Spell Vamp is reduced by healing reduction effects such as Ignite.

//Passive: Ryze gains bonus mana. Active: Ryze becomes supercharged, gaining spell vamp and causing his spells to deal 50% AoE damage.

//Ahri gains a charge of Essence Theft whenever one of her spells hits an enemy (max: 3 charges per spell). Upon reaching 9 charges, Ahri's next spell has bonus Spell Vamp.

//Safeguard: Lee Sin rushes towards a target ally, shielding them both from damage. If a shield is broken, half the energy cost is returned. After using Safeguard, Lee Sin can cast Iron Will for the next 3 seconds. Iron Will: Lee Sin's intense training allows him to thrive in battle. For 5 seconds, Lee Sin gains lifesteal, spell vamp, and armor.

//Morgana has Spell Vamp, healing herself whenever she deals damage with her spells.

//Upon obtaining 19.5 ability power, Akali's hits deal 10% bonus magic damage, increasing by 1% for every 5 ability power gained thereafter. (Magic damage doesn't affect towers, but it affects other structures.) Upon obtaining 9.5 attack damage, Akali gains 10% Spell Vamp, increasing by an additional 1% for every 5 attack damage gained thereafter.

//Olaf's attack damage is increased, based on his health, and he gains massive lifesteal and spell vamp.

It doesn't matter if an ability scales off AD, as long as it does magic damage. ( Missile Barrage, Living Artillery, Sinister Steel).

Never mind, all spell effects apply spell vamp. On-hit effects do not. Piltover Peacemaker procs spell vamp. As a general rule of thumb, if it doesn't proc lifesteal, it procs spellvamp.

Also Ahri's information is a little outdated :L
