Champion Build Guide
Season 14
Welcome to Season 2024, many items have been introduced or reworked and many largely benefit Warwick and how he wants to play. Riftmaker, Liandry's Torment and Titanic Hydra are such examples. These items have been far stronger than before in a drawn out fight for my builds than they were in the past and in my opinion pushes these builds a little out of the off-meta side. Terminus as a new item also introduces some much loved double penetration lost from Divine Sunderer's removal. I wish everyone the best of luck and finish reading the rest of the guide before you try it out for yourself. |
Explanation
This is the centric part of the build, Q Jaws of the Beast scaling. Warwick is often misunderstood, his damage is primarily magic despite building AD items, this is where his scaling is also misunderstood. Stacking AP is a lot easier than AD, as well Passive Eternal Hunger scaling off and doing magical damage. This in turn means magic pen highly benefits Warwick. Blood Hunt is insane with it's attack speed boost Nashor's Tooth. This means you don't need to go Legend: Alacrity, and why I instead opt for Legend: Bloodline. Running Lethal Tempo will allow running Legend: Alacrity, this makes it so you don't cap out your attack speed immediately. |
The big discussion, Warwick's ultimate Infinite Duress, this is one of many reasons you want Muramanain the build. This item gives you more ultimate damage, on top of more sustain via Eternal Hunger. Combine this and some magic penetration, you reach a good hybrid combination of damage and sustain. |
Because this build is very squishy, it makes sense to get another point of E Primal Howl at level 8. This allows for more aggressive plays while still being able to avoid death and life steal your way out. At full build you can survive with just autos whilst tanking 2 towers at once. |
As far as runes go for Warwick, it's based on preference. A longer fight calls for Lethal Tempo, whereas shorter ones can opt for Press the Attack, and with the one shot builds, always go for either Dark Harvest, or Predator. Grasp of the Undying on the other hand, is a more niche rune for cheesing out meele tank matchups and is completely inferior to Lethal Tempo and Press the Attack, however it makes for an interesting laning phase that is beginner friendly and safe. |
As far as itemization goes, for builds that are more AP based make sure to rush Manamune. In the jungle, a Tiamat rush is necessary to make up for the lack of jungling speed. In season 14 a change was introduced to Titanic Hydra that allows for an auto cancel, this works great with PTA and can often turn fights around for you. |
