Introduction

So I had this stupid Renekton guide on Leaguecraft I made the day he came out. Everyone seemed to love it but I took it down because I felt like it. Here's a more updated version for the fanboys. Not a lot has changed, except the general setup.

Also, before anyone asks, I'm probably not rewriting the original guide. I have no interest in Leaguecraft anymore. It would take a massive influx of requests for anything like that to happen.

So, without further adieu, here is the new LordSlash Renekton:

Runes

Armor pen marks - best DPS marks, period.
Flat armor seals - great early game tankyness.
Magic resist/level glyphs - makes you less burstable lategame.
Armor pen quints - Tanky DPS scale best with full armor pen.

Masteries

21/0/9

Full aggressive setup. Renekton deals derploads of early game damage, and this mastery setup utilizes that factor. I take the basic masteries for any 21/0/9 build.

I take magic pen for his ult. Exp/buff duration in utility because it's OP. Good hands because perseverance is a garbage mastery.

Items

Standardly, I'll start with a doran's blade. Renekton can get away with no potions successfully if he solos, which is exactly what you should do. Doran's blade makes you deal even more damage, plus it gives you a ton of health. The lifesteal synergizes with your passive.

Next, I rush basic boots, and usually another doran's blade. The extra health and damage from a second doran's blade is really nice to have early game, but it isn't necessary. You can skip it if you wish.

Brualizer and CDR boots come next. These stick you with about 28% CDR off the bat. This in turn gives you more HP and sustainability because of how frequently you can cast Q to heal. Why CDR boots over merc treads? Because we're bosses, that should be reason enough.

It's time to start packing on the deeps. The next item I like, and I'm going to receive a lot of flaming for this, is hextech gunblade.

"OMG WQEHQIWEUQE SLASH YOU NOOB RENEKTON ONLY HAS ONE AP ABILITY AND THE RATIO SUCKS"

Guess what? You're right. But we don't buy hextech gunblade for the AP. It offers 60 damage, a free slow active effect, life steal, and spell vamp. Why spell vamp? Because it doubles over as a defensive measure. Your ultimate's aura deals magic, thus healing you from the spellvamp. There's nothing harder to focus down than a renekton healing from his AoE ult. Thus, hextech gunblade successfully functions as a core DPS item and a defense item.

After that, it becomes pretty situational. I frequently buy a sunfire cape, just because it synergizes with your ult so well. Plus, more spellvamp, as well as a chunk of health/armor. :3 You could also get a warmog's if you need lots of health, but it's pretty expensive.

In any case, atma's impaler is usually a good investment when you get health items such as these, because it adds a nice amount of attack damage.

After you have all that stuff purchased and figured out, you should buy situational items, which include, but are not limited to:

Bloodthirster, Force of Nature, Randuin's Omen, Spirit Visage, Quicksilver Sash, Infinity Edge, Last Whisper, second hextech gunblade, trinity force, aegis of the legion.

Skill Sequence

Max Q first. It's your bread and butter. Max anything else and I'll personally see to it that rabid wolves gnaw off your genitalia. Because I can do that.

Max E second. It gives more damage and utility offerings than maxing W second.

Max W last, obviously.

Take ult whenever possible.

Summoner Spells

Flash + Ignite

Flash is OP and synergizes with slice and dice.
Ignite synergizes with Renekton's strong early game.

Early Game

Early game in a solo before you reach level 4, stand back and last hit. If you get hurt, autoattack some creeps to heal off doran's blade's life steal. Whenever this causes you to hit 50 fury, slice in, cast Q, autoattack, then dice out. This deals massive damage.

At level 4, your combo from this turns into slice in -> Q -> W -> autoattack -> dice away.

If your opponent is being passive and not hurting you, simply charge 50 fury by yourself and repeat the combos above.

Once you reach level 6, you're able to safely dive most champions with your ult, spare heavy CC ones such as Malzahar, Warwick, Ashe, etc.

Also, make sure to farm a lot in lane. Farm is very important.

Mid Game

Farm some more. Gank whenever possible. Farm some more. Get core items. Team fight, roll noobs. Focus carries. Etc.

Be precise when using your ult. If you activate it before the fight begins, everyone will just head for the hills and you'll have wasted it. If everyone's fighting and you press it, there's a smaller chance they'll book it and a better chance of you dealing sufficient derploads of AoE damage.

Late Game

Baron, take inhibs, roll noobs.

And farm.

In team fights, try to use your hextech gunblade's slow on squishies trying to escape. And don't be that one guy who forgets about his item actives. No one likes that guy.

Conclusion

So yeah, for all my Leaguecraft fanboys, that's my updated setup for Renekton. Have fun, farm, roll noobs, etc.

Renekton is still an extremely viable champion, and I recommend you give the new setup a try.
