How to Nami S14

By Syyvaz
Hi, my name is Syyvaz. I started playing league at season 4. I always loved the support role. And now i am making guides of supports for this 14 season. I wish all you like my guides <3

You can see me on my stream or my Youtube channel. Feel free to ask any questions on stream or leave a comment on the guide!
Playing Nami in League of Legends offers a multifaceted experience, blending versatile support capabilities with lane dominance, crowd control prowess, and impactful engage/disengage potential. With the ability to heal, poke, and control the flow of battles, Nami excels in providing utility to her team while also offering satisfying gameplay through skillful execution of her abilities. Whether setting up kills with well-timed stuns, sustaining allies with heals, or dictating the pace of teamfights with her ultimate, Nami's adaptability and rewarding mechanics make her a compelling choice for players seeking to influence the outcome of matches through strategic and skill-based support play.

Pros

Delivers dual forms of crowd control, adept at disrupting channeled ultimates from a secure range using Tidal Wave.
Offers decent poking capabilities during the laning phase while simultaneously healing both you and your ADC through the same skill, Ebb and Flow.
Enhances poke damage and introduces a slowing effect with Tidecaller's Blessing, facilitating easier pursuits with Surging Tides.
Aqua Prison has the potential to catch multiple enemies, setting the stage for a potential turnaround.

Cons

Aqua Prison can be hard to land sometimes, especially if they have a lot of movement speed.
Ebb and Flow heal isn't as strong out of the laning phase.

STANDARD

  • Summon Aery
  • Summon Aery: proves to be the most optimal major keystone for Nami. This is attributed to Aery's ability to augment the damage output when casting Ebb and Flow or provide a shield to an ally, contingent on your target choice. Furthermore, Summon Aery extends its benefits to shield an ally through Tidecaller's Blessing.
  • Manaflow Band
  • Manaflow Band: Proves invaluable during the mana-intensive laning phase, providing a solution to mana challenges. Prioritize early harassment only when it guarantees a stack, offering a strategic approach to address early mana concerns.
  • Transcendence
  • Transcendence: Has now been buffed to scale earlier in the game, this helps add a lot to your early Cooldown Reduction.
  • Scorch
  • Scorch: For a tiny bit more lane pressure.
  • Biscuit Delivery
  • Biscuit Delivery: Provides the needed mana regeneration during the laning phase.
  • Magical Footweart
  • Magical Footwear: make us have boots cheaper and focus on early peel.

STANDARD v2

  • Summon Aery
  • Summon Aery: Is one of the best runes, providing poke or offering a shield instead.
  • Biscuit Delivery
  • Biscuit Delivery: Provides the needed mana regeneration during the laning phase.
  • Cosmic Insight
  • Cosmic Insight: In this season the HP items are insane, so this rune will help us so much.
FLASH
We need it 100% of the games.
EXHAUST
Just run it all games, its more than necessary.
IGNITE
Take it when u want to win 2vs2 and play aggressive.

PASSIVE
Surging Tides
When Nami's Abilities hit allied champions they gain Move Speed for a short duration.

Q
Aqua Prison
Sends a bubble to a target area, dealing damage and stunning all enemies on impact.

W
Ebb and Flow
Unleashes a stream of water that bounces back and forth between allied and enemy champions, healing allies and damaging enemies.

E
Tidecaller's Blessing
Empowers an allied champion for a short duration. The ally's basic attacks and spells deal bonus magic damage and slow the target.

R
Tidal Wave
Summons a massive Tidal Wave that knocks up, slows, and damages enemies. Allies hit gain double the effect of Surging Tides.
In the early game as Nami, your primary focus is to establish lane dominance and support your ADC in securing farm while looking for opportunities to poke and harass the enemy laners.

Position yourself slightly behind your ADC to protect them from enemy engages while staying within range to apply pressure with your abilities.

Start with Ebb and Flow, which can bounce between enemies and allies. Use it to poke enemies when they go for last hits or to heal your ADC if they take damage.

Utilize your basic attacks to harass enemies whenever they step out of position. Nami's empowered auto-attacks from Tidecaller's Blessing can apply a slow, making it easier to land subsequent abilities.

Look for opportunities to trade favorably with the enemy bot lane. Land Aqua Prison on priority targets, such as the enemy ADC or support, to set up trades in your favor.

Place wards in key locations to track the enemy jungler's movements and prevent ganks. This will allow you to play more aggressively when the enemy jungler is elsewhere on the map.

If the opportunity arises and your ADC is in a safe position, consider roaming to other lanes to provide assistance or set up kills for your team.
Place wards around key objectives like Dragon, Baron, and enemy jungle. Switch to Oracle Lens (Sweeper) to clear enemy wards, especially around objectives and key paths.

Position yourself safely during fights and skirmishes. Keep an eye on the minimap and be aware of enemy movements.

Use Ebb and Flow and Tidal Wave to protect your carries. Use Aqua Prison to catch out-of-position enemies or to peel for your teammates. Follow up with Tidal Wave to disrupt the enemy team during fights. Tidal Wave is excellent for both engaging and disengaging.

Use Ebb and Flowfor both healing allies and damaging enemies. Apply Tidecaller's Blessing to your ADC or the primary damage dealer to maximize its impact. Aqua Prison can be game-changing if landed correctly.

Assist your team in securing these objectives by providing vision and healing. Use your abilities to zone enemies or initiate fights around these objectives.

Roam to mid lane or jungle with your ADC or when the lane is pushed. Help secure kills or objectives with your CC and heals. Be flexible in responding to lane swaps or rotations. Your goal is to support your team in gaining an advantage.

Use pings and chat to call for objectives when it’s safe and advantageous for your team. Coordinate with your jungler and mid laner for ganks and objective control. Inform your team when your ult is ready for a potential engage or disengage.

Key items include Shurelya's Battlesong, Redemption, and Mikael's Blessing. Focus on building utility and defensive items rather than damage. Your role is to support and enhance your team’s effectiveness.
Continue placing wards around critical objectives like Baron Nashor and Elder Dragon. Use Control Wards to deny enemy vision, especially in areas where you plan to contest objectives or initiate fights. Use Oracle Lens to clear enemy wards, especially before starting an objective or preparing for a team fight.

As a squishy support, positioning is crucial. Stay behind your frontline and avoid getting caught out of position. Position yourself close enough to your carries to heal and shield them, but far enough to avoid being the target of enemy initiations.

Your primary job is to keep your carries alive. Use Ebb and Flow to heal them and Aqua Prison to disable enemies diving onto your carries. Use Aqua Prison to catch key targets or disrupt the enemy team. Follow up with Tidal Wave to knock up and slow multiple enemies, creating opportunities for your team to capitalize. Use Tidal Wave to initiate fights, catch out-of-position enemies, or disengage when the enemy team is pushing too hard.

Prioritize healing your team, especially during extended fights. The bounce effect can also damage enemies, providing some extra poke. Apply Tidecaller's Blessing to your primary damage dealer or anyone focusing on a key target. Aqua Prison is your main crowd control tool.

The Baron and Elder Dragon are game-changing in the late game. Ensure your team has vision control and be prepared to use your abilities to secure or contest these objectives.

In the late game, moving as a group is essential. Stay with your team to provide constant support and to be ready for team fights. Use pings and chat to communicate with your team about upcoming objectives, enemy positions, and your cooldowns

Adapt your build based on the enemy team composition. Consider items like Ardent Censer if you have auto-attack-based carries or Knight's Vow to protect a specific ally.

Keep track of your cooldowns and use them strategically in fights. Don’t waste your abilities.

Be flexible in your approach. Sometimes you need to initiate, sometimes you need to peel, and sometimes you need to disengage. Late-game fights can be chaotic. Stay focused, keep an eye on your carries, and use your abilities methodically.
