Talon's Kryptonite, her E can kill you if you're not careful and you get hit by her e, she can just chain it into combos. She can also avoid your W pretty easily with her W. Laning phase will be almost impossible but try not to give her kills and look for kills in mid game instead.
Pantheon
You can't really fight him in lane, which is why he is annoying, and also if you're not careful you can die from his e. Try your best to dodge his Q and don't walk into his W range. Only trade if he used up his W and E. All in only when he's low enough and he used his W and E.
Irelia
Again... very annoying stun, in a way kind of like Leblanc, if you're not careful and you get hit by her E you're dead, and you can't really engage too because she has too much damage to spare. Try to stand far away from minion as she can dash in from the minion and stun you with her E. Look for trades if she used E. Do not all in when she's charging her W.
Malphite
You can't kill him, he's very tanky, deals a lot of damage, try not to walk up and get poked by his Q too much, only trade or fight if he used up his E. Find picks by roaming and keep in mind of his ultimate range , he's very strong and can possibly you kill you with his ultimate when he hits 6.
Rumble
Rumble is so hard to fight because he can threaten you with his ranged abilites, if you engage you can die yourself because of his W shield. Stand behind minions, don't get hit by his E, you can go Serpent's Fang third or forth if you want to.
Akshan
His passive in the early game is really strong, if he can proc it he'll gain a shield and you'll be quite hurt from it. Don't make a line or stand near the minion so he cannot land his Q, if he uses his ultimate you can hide behind towers or minions. You can try to engage if he used his E.
Zoe
Dodge her E, stand behind minions, but not so close because her Q is AOE, look for landing your abilities when she walks up to pick her spell bubbles. She can punish you very hard if you get hit by her E, so try to dodge that with the best of your abilities. Play safe early, don't lose too much HP. Look for roams and mid-game picks.
Fizz
Fizz, you can rush Hexdrinker to make laning phase easier. Use your W to make him waste his E because your W is on shorter cooldown than his E, when he does that just all in or trade there. His ultimate is very painful and you can die if you get hit by it max range, avoid it by looking at how he plays. He can also mask his ult by using Q-R so be careful.
Yasuo
Very easy if you know how to fight him, take Conqueror. Just bait out his W by throwing out your W, your W cooldown is shorter than his W so you can hit him. When you land both your W procs you can Q and proc your passive, when you're done walk back if you don't have enough damage to kill him. Do not wiggle to dodge his Q, since his hitbox is quite bigger than you think just wiggle a bit and walk in a straight line.
Qiyana
Level 1 walk up and try to melee Q her if she didn't level up W first. If you take ignite you can ignite her before she throws her grass Q, or if you land your W just Q in and proc your passive, she'll have an outline even if she's invisible. Dodge Q hits by standing behind minions. Do not stand close to walls/grass/river because she can ult and oneshot you if her R hits.
Katarina
Watch where her daggers are, when you W keep in mind she will dodge the second part, don't stand close to her daggers since she can keep chaining her combos and possibly kill you. Use your melee Q if she comes up to you. When she ults, most of the time she's gonna drop a dagger close to you while ulting, walk out of her ult and avoid that dagger.
Yone
Yone is kind of like Yasuo, wiggle but walk in a straight line when dodging his Q because of his hitbox, don't let him proc Lethal Tempo, if he does so just E away or walk back. Take only short trades and if you all in him keep in mind that he can ult away. Try your best to dodge his ultimate and his Q2 because he can chain combo it into his ultimate. All in him when he returns back to his E or when his E is on cooldown. Melee Q if he E's into you.
Swain
You are more likely to lose to him with Electrocute/First Strike, as it is much easier to fight him with the Conqueror setup. Try your best to dodge his E because he can chain combo it into W and Q, his Q is a straight line so walk to the side to dodge it. If he ults you can E away from it and wait till it wears off. All in only when his ult is on cooldown.
Jayce
Jayce is very annoying since he has lots of AOE abilities, and all his abilities hits like a truck, just clear waves, don't even think of trading him, look for kills after you get your ultimate and roam/join skirmishes instead.
Zed
Dodge his Q, or stand behind minions because his Q deals more damage if you're isolated. There are many ways to fight a Zed, but generally I W R after he ults so I can dodge his Q's. If you can dodge his full combo (W-E-Q) you've basically won. If I'm fed I just Q in, wait for him to respond and W R for passive.
Ahri
Avoid her Q, if you can't then try to avoid her second part Q. Stand behind minions so you don't get hit by charm. Her ultimate in teamfights is annoying but it should be fine if you don't die to her early. You can bait her charm by using your Q on a dying minion and jiggle to the left/right. Then engage using your Q that cooldown got lowered from killing the dying minion.
Vex
If she used up her fear you can try to fight her. Do not get poked and overall just clear waves and roam.
Neeko
Neeko is kind of like Zoe in a way, her pokes are very painful and she can spam Q so you have to recall, dodge her root and count your minions, her ultimate can be sudden and is very strong so bear in mind.
Orianna
Depends on if the Orianna is good, if she missed all her abilities you win, if she creates space and use that to zone you. When you engage make sure her abilites are on cooldown, if not you can get turned with her ultimate.
Cassiopeia
In theory Cassiopeia's kit seems like it would completely counter Talon, but if she missed her Q you can engage on that time frame because she is very vulnerable. You can dodge her ult with instinct by watching her movement (Her entire body will jolt up,) or just wiggle back and forth when you're engaging. Early game you don't quite have the damage to kill her so wait till you have your ultimate.
Annie
Annie is a very hard matchup, but with the Conqueror build, your Q is long enough and you're tanky enough to tank her abilities. Good Annies will hold their ult and use it on you instantly when you're in range, forcing you to lose HP and recall. Bait out her stun and all in if her health is lower than half.
Veigar
Don't get poked out by his Q, dodge his two dimensional E, short trade until he's low enough and all in. Very easy matchup.
Ekko
His ultimate can be annoying, but bring Electrocute and trade with him every time you hit both your W's. Start Q level one.
Kassadin
Kassadin's threat level is minor because you have to kill him early, if you let him scale you basically lose the game. Take the Conqueror setup because he can be very tanky afterwards, or take Electrocute if you're confident in yourself.
Gragas
Take the Conqueror build, bait out his E and just keep on autoing him while using your abilities, you shouldn't struggle against him since most Gragas player will get hit by both W stacks, if not just walk up near some of your minions and AA Q AA and W if you can. You outscale him.
Syndra
You can kill Syndra pretty easily if she uses her E. Just Q on a dying minion and hit both your W proc, wait for your Q to come up again and just Q AA her. Baiting her Q is quite easy, estimate her Q range, act like you're walking in it and walk out. If you can't find a kill just shove and roam.
Tristana
Very easy matchup, since Tristana will tunnel vision you and CSing, call for your junger's help, if not just kill her yourself after you have ult, you can trade pre-6 if she used her E.
Ryze
Kind of like Kassadin in a way, because he can infinitely scale, but easier, stand behind creeps, but not next to them, you can trade and play normally but don't go for extended fights, all in when you get ult.
Galio
Very easy matchup, you can just auto and kill him with your abilities, he can be tanky but it shouldn't be a problem. Go for extended fights if you can.
Lux
Avoid her stun, don't get poked out of lane, engage in fights only after she uses Q. All in 6 after if she's less than half and she used her abilities. If she's playing super safe just shove and roam level 6.
Xerath
Just Lux, but blue. avoid his stun by standing behind minions, shove and roam and 6 if you can't find an opening to kill him. Don't stand in your wave to force him to choose between pushing and poking you. You should outscale him pretty easily.
Fiddlesticks
His ult can create so much space for you making it super easy to play
Malphite
Very good for being the meat shield and frontline for Talon, opening up plays for him.
Gragas
Also very good for opening up plays for Talon, and he can follow after Gragas engages.
Elise
Early game jungler for early skirmishes, but even better because she's AP.
Xin Zhao
Early game jungler for early skirmishes
Zilean
Zilean can make you even more annoying than you are right now. His ultimate and E and speed you up and he can be your second Youmuu's Ghostblade.

Hi guys, it's me ☔ Stormraided I've hit Rank 1 Talon and Kassadin in my server while being Challenger. Most of the builds featured here comes from me studying and dissecting the best Talon players (Zhami, Yedaoshen, Jeon-Sangdeuk, ForestofTime, etc.) I also stream on Twitch and I plan on making Youtube videos, so you can check me out if you have the time!
+ High burst + Insane Roaming Potential + Waveclear + Snowball Potential + Good teamfight for an assassin + High mobility and escape potential
Talon's advantages comes from the ability to take out squishies in an instant, Youmuu's Ghostblade is one of the best items in slot for him, everything about the item is good, utility, speed, damage. He's also known for his absurd mobility and roaming abilities from his Assassin's Path. The adrenaline you get from playing Talon is different.
CONS
- High Skill Ceiling, low skill floor - Reliance on snowballing - Vision counterplay - Items are expensive - Falls behind if game drags on for too long - Needs follow up from teammates
Talon is a champion that you can easily pick up, but takes time to master. his kit could be countered if vs a champion like Lee Sin/Leblanc because they can just kill you when you're invisible. Late game he falls behind if everyone gets to level 18. Lastly, he needs someone to create space for him, someone who can zone them out like Malphite for example, if not the game could be a bit hard.
SUMMONER SPELLS -
Flash: Best spell in slot for Talon, Flash can gap close enemies in an instant, or be an incredible escape tool. Great for aggressive and defensive maneuvers. You can pair Flash his entire kit. You can Flash and Rake to catch enemies off guard, as well as Flash and Noxian Diplomacy. You can even Flash and Assassin's Path to get away quickly.
Ignite: Ignite is an offensive summoner spell that synergizes perfectly with Talon's burst damage and aggressive playstyle, providing him with unparalleled dueling power, you don't have to care about enemies not dying too if you pop an Ignite on them.
Teleport: Teleport is a strategic summoner spell that pairs well with his scaling build, you don't have to spare the use of teleport if you die, your goal with the scaling build is to gain as much gold as possible so don't ever lose out on minion waves. With this summoner spell you can also splitpush, gain enemy's attention and teleport to help your teammates when they are in trouble. You can even use it to roam if there's a good ward down.
Conqueror
Conqueror
My preferred playstyle of Talon, Conqueror is very strong, almost as strong as Electrocute early game, albeit a bit hard to proc. Excellent teamfight potential, you can also cheese people level 1 in bush with AA Q AA. When using this runepage, you have to fit in more autos before your combos/abilities.
Electrocute
Electrocute
Electrocute is great for early trades, falls off a bit mid-late but still a great rune. I take this page when I'm vs an assassin where they are too slippery for me to proc my Conqueror
FIRST STRIKE
First Strike
I do not recommend this runepage for beginners, it's way too inconsistent, you can play this setup if you're confident in your positioning, having First Strike up in fights is very important.
Talon's abilities are pretty straight forward, each damaging abilities gives you stacks depend on the ability ( Noxian Diplomacy gives you one, Rake gives you two, Shadow Assault gives you two,) after that you can auto to proc your Blade's End when it is full (Three stacks). Always level up your Shadow Assault, since it's your most imporant ability, followed by Rake, which is your bread and butter ability, if Long Sword is your best friend, then you would marry Rake, it should always be maxed out, since it's your primary wave clear and poke tool, giving you farming ability and apply pressure on the enemy. Next you should level up Noxian Diplomacy to get it's cooldown down, having your Q on low cooldown is crucial for Talon's all-in potential, giving you more burst during trades and all-ins. Assassin's Path should be maxed out last, since it's not as critical as Rake or Noxian Diplomacy.
Your bread and butter trading tool, try to throw your Rake a bit to the side that they're gonna walk to. When your Rake is starting to return back Noxian Diplomacy in and auto to proc your Blade's End. This combo cannot is very hard to miss if you time it correctly.
Your best tool to trading against melee champions early game, or you could sit in the bush and cheese them level 1. AA then Noxian Diplomacy instantly when you start AAing to cancel it into another auto.
This combo will be your staple against ranged enemies, also great for catching onto them, as you can latch on to them and guarantee your Rake, assuming they don't have a stun, if they do, you can Noxian Diplomacy on a dying minion because doing so reduces your Noxian Diplomacy cooldown, then you can Rake and do your bread and butter Rake into Noxian Diplomacy and auto to proc your Blade's End
Good combo against melee champions, you have to keep in mind if they have a dash because you start off the combo with Rake as the first ability, don't use this combo if they have a dash because they can just dash out of your second part of Rake
Highest damage combo, gets you almost full Conqueror stacks, probably the most fitting combo with the Conqueror build. Always proc your Blade's End with your auto. Use this combo in skirmishes or teamfights, another thing to note is you don't always have to end your Shadow Assault invisibility (Ending it is autoing or using Noxian Diplomacy or Assassin's Path. Just run around in your invisibility and target the enemy ADC or the most important target with your Noxian Diplomacy.
Also called the ❀ Flower Combo, this combo is the perfect combo to oneshot any target you want, the key to not messing the combo up is to Shadow Assault while you're travelling mid-air using Noxian Diplomacy. Finish them off with an AA to proc Blade's End
Combo where there's lots of enemies and they don't have vision on you, flash to catch them off guard even more, also good for skirmishes/teamfights where you lack the range to engage. I didn't specify whether to use Melee/Ranged Noxian Diplomacy on purpose, you can use either depending on the situation. If you choose to use ranged Noxian Diplomacy the combo will look like this: Rake> Flash> Shadow Assault> Ranged Noxian Diplomacy> AA ( Blade's End), again, you can run around in your invisibility while ulting to create space for your team.
✦ I recommend learning about the enemy you're facing before getting into a game. Talon's playstyle can be very cunning, or you could also play safe, depending who you are against. Most of the time when you're vs a melee champion like Sylas, Qiyana you can trade with them pretty easily by just hitting both parts your Rake, but against ranged matchups, you don't have the privilege to hit both paths of your Rake because ranged champions will stand very far away from you. When you face ranged champions, try your best to play safe, secure as much farm as possible, engage when the enemy makes a mistake or if they overextend. Cool nifty trick is to use Noxian Diplomacy on a dying minion then throw Rake at the enemy, your Noxian Diplomacy cooldown will be shortened because you killed the minion, then you can engage on them with the reduced cooldown Noxian Diplomacy. You should always look to group/fight with your team because Talon is all about mobility, keep in mind, that if you're going to group/fight you should always push the wave first, if the wave state is equal/bad you have to judge for yourself if it's worth to group/fight (Free kills, Important objectives.) Learning combos can be overwhelming, and that's fine, just try to learn the essential combos first before anything else. Pick a few, 2-3 is fine, perfect the simple combos before moving on to the harder ones. You can recall and roam after recalling to trick the enemy.
Mindset
✦ Mindset, League is mostly about mechanics and how you proceed with the game, you're correct about that, but, with how the game is played. You have to have great mindset and the way you think will affect how you play the game. You should always learn to master yourself, know what you can control and what you can't control, your teammates, for example. Focusing our effort on the things within our control and learning to accept what is not. If things go wrong in your team, you just have to learn how to react to the situation, it's not worth fussing over things you can't control.
This concludes it for my Talon guide! This is my first guide so the formatting might be a bit wack. Good luck on your climb and journey on improving. When ytou feel like giving up, just know that it's alright to struggle, keep putting in the time and eventually you will get to where you wanna be. Special thanks to Jeon-Sangdeuk, Zhami for the info/build, and Marto, Lurkz for the feedback
