Why is akali banned so often?

Recently and on streams of high elo i've been watching she's banned consistently. I don't think there have been any changes, so why has she been getting banned?

Long story short- A good Akali is always a problem in solo q and most people prefer to ban her, rather than dealing with her.

Her kit is focused on picking off weaklings in a team of unsuspecting or uncordinated enemies. This makes her ideal for solo Q as the other team is highly unlikely to be able to coordinate well enough to kill her easily. But in LCS or team play she can be quite weak as the other team will likely be able to deal with her.

Akali is a '' poorly designed champion ''. She has a very high burst, decent defensive stats and alot of mobility.

Unlike Fizz or LeBlanc, she can life steal and spell vamp out of her enemies and deal tremendous amount of damage even with defensive items. Assasins are meant to have low defenses at the price of highest damage: but that's not the case with her. She can outsustain a Fiora in a duel and have better defenses then a bruiser.

Furthermore, her stealth (with the change of vision during season 4) procure her an huge advantage over any other champions. Not only it is overly complicated to reveal her, but it gives her bonus movement speed and is expensive for the opponent over time.

Further on the list, she has 3 dashes. Not 1 or 2, 3. It has a very long range, deals a decent amount of damage and its not even a skillshot: you simply click the person. And guess what, it reset on kills and assists which give her even more dashes ...

Akali always had a kit like that, but the circumstances is making it even stronger. Why would you pick Zed or Talon and complicate your life when you can simply play Akali: a champion with no skillshots, decent defenses and one of the greatest burst in the game.

i couldnt disagree more. first of all, defensive items? u almost never build defensive items on an assassin because he would turn into a bruiser. a good akali player will build gunblade and zhonyas (if it has armor that doesnt mean its a defensive item) as first items and a defensive item in late game to prevent getting *poped
    *.

she can outsustain a fiora? fiora deals dps as for akali she deals burst damage. after her burst her sustain is close to 0 while fioras sustain remains the same.

her stealth gives her a huge advantage over any other champion u say? well, lets compare her to other assassins. talon has a 3 sec stealth while he has 40% bonus ms. its like a 3 sec rammus q while stealthed. fizz has an escape while he is untargetable for that duration, leblanc has 2 escapes (her w and ult) and so on. akali has just a circle where she is stealthed in. if someone comes to gank u they can just wait for u to reveal urself and kill u. if u are getting camped as akali ur screwed. also her shroud is easily countered by pink wards (that drives me insane..) so she doesnt has any type of escape.

yeah she has 3 dashes that resets on kills or assists. if she want to assassinate a single person (like the adc) this is very powerful. but, what are u doing in a teamfight? the range from ult isnt long enough to jump from ur frontline to theirs (as it would be broken), u need to go through their frontline and then jump to the adc, and let me say that this.. is impossible. u will be dead before even realize what happened. lets say u are zed. he can ult w in the enemy frontline then ult the adc, drop his full combo and then disappear in the middle of his team.

"a champion with no skillshots" ok, ok u got that she doesnt has skillshots. lets compare her to zed once again. akalis q has 600 range and deals 40% of the damage if its not proced. zeds q with w has in total 1450 range and can deal 150% damage if he hits his target with 2 shurikens.

so, what i want to say is that i know akali is strong. but the game isnt over for the enemy team if u pick her. if that was the case everyone would pick akali in every lane ( or jungle ) and win the game 100%. every champion has his own pros and cons and a good player knows how to use those to win his lane.

Akali has crazy burst, harass, and mobility. She can pick enemies off in a matter of seconds even by their whole team and then disappear with her shroud. As LevasK said, a good akali is a huge problem.
