I tested this build quite a lot, and i got to say that it's quite nice idea, early game is like: GODMODE - ON. I had really good result with it, but i still found myself a lot more comfortable with my bursty build, because your build early game is strong laner - but slow, you can't get too much kills just of low burst and can't harass too well just because normally everyone will just run away from hiten. And I don't like passive games, I tend to go Supah aggro on everyone.
I still give you +1 because build does work and works really very well :)

P.S. I don't see reason why you get bersserker instead of mercury's.

Could be it doesn't fit your style of playing, I just think it has the most potential if played right.

Thanks for the first comment! I thought about it and I don't even know why I wrote that in the first place, I edited it slightly.

To be honest, I used to play with Trinity Force ( from Sheen ) aswell, however I found the current build to be more effective in general terms. The good thing with Irelia is that her ulti procs Sheen all the time. I've honestly tried Trinity Force, and I feel like other items seem to outdo it. I can't say its an awful item, but I guess I grew out of it.

+1 for laning with Wriggle's Lantern.
I just don't understand why anyone wouldn't get a Sheen on Irelia though, she is made for that item.

Just buy a negatron cloak...you can upgrade it to Banshee late game. And I think any Irelia, except for AP irelia, needs Mercury Treads more than any other boots.
