Hi, im using this current preseason6 of course i did my own changes acording to what i feel is in need for example i max e first why? well no escape tool thats why and most tops are mele ranged so dazzle does more damage to them increacing your early burst and making a jungler 10 times easier to gank you not only that but the stun time increaces wich means more time for E AA W AA Q AA or E AA R AA W AA Q AA i think you should take out clarity since not only is a bad spell but its not avaible in the summoners rift anymore i always build ice gauntlet and ice heart almost always first not only becouse combo but 40%cdr and no more mana problems and better yet ur skills scale with ur armor hp and ap now ur ap its kinda bad but armor an hp scaling are good so stacking them makes your w way more scary and usefull for your team and hp makes ur healing even better so stacking does is the best option but since u cant do it al at once u should max E IMO just couse its your best defense/ofense mechanism i been playing it quite a while and know about a thing or 2 about matchups and how to face them good or bad but most of top laners are not a problem as long as you get a safe laning early yet theres a few who can really kick your *** even if played carefull i say he is viable still has a high tanky carry potencial its usefull for the team and its funny beating people up whit his pink skin worth giving a chance even in ranked and im not troling.yet if you doubt it you should hit normals and see it for yourself most people espect taric to suck to be useless without an adc by his side they just rush at you with hate yet you stun them burst them and let the minions do the rest or chase the kill once u have ur combo and some items its really worth a chance also its a heavy counter of zed and can destroy him even if u swap lines with mid so ad its mostly not a problem of course unless u are experienced with him i dont recomend it as early taric can be out poked by zed or yasuo ending in death but still viable specialy becouse once ur built ganking taric its useless he just wont die by any means before he gets to tower.ap is a pain but we are in ad meta so give it a try and yes do not follow the meta so hard you can have a lot of fun with trying stuff aslong as they make some kind of sence.thx for the guide id love to see you invest some more on it

heal and barrier made me tank better as well as healing myself so i can use imbue on allies im supporting, along with supplemental armor to shatter the gems and push the lane

I just recently started playing taric top. And, to my surprise even though I haven't looked at other builds, I end up getting items pretty similar to yours. Only difference is my masteries are pretty balanced with 15 in AD and 15 in defense. I also run flat armor seals and level MR glyphs. The strong part that helps me is my magic pen marks and quints. The AD masteries helps with farming consistency and control for those ganks. I do have troubles with mid game ap tops and without having full flat armor, it makes it kind of hard to choose a full build of visage. Tanks are obviously a stand still. But I try to rush my iceborn to get my mana manageable mid game. What are your thoughts?

What do you think of the blade of the ruined king into triforce then defensive items? as in for a more damage oriented build?

Taric has some hidden OPness. You should have a section on combos. For Example, with 40%CD, if you E->AA->W->AA->Q->AA your E should be up or almost up again, and can restart this rotation. With IBG and it'll be very difficult for some champs to escape. Throw in R and you'll be dishing out some decent damage.

I use just about the exact same build, cept for ruins, and I run Mana and mana regen masteries. I also play some Jungle Taric using the same build. Team and Opponents thought I was trolling, then were shocked as I went fabulous,

I will have to do that later on since I'm back in the game (I took a break from LoL during preseason as I always do). I do the exact same combo, I guess great minds think alike? xD

I have considered mana runes but the scare factor of 90 armor at level 1 helps a bit as it frightens AD champs.

Nice guide.
Is there any reason why attack speed has not been built? His abilities get reduced after each empowered hit (after each cast).

Sorry for the late reply, I took a break from league as I do at every preseason. I don't build attack speed because I feel it doesn't suit him that well. With Taric, you cast a spell, attack, cast, attack over and over again that it isn't really needed.

I enjoy Taric in any lane. I full AP Taric is scary. Jungle while slow his ganks are fairly top notch. As a support? Well his CC and combo with his passive and armor aura make him deadly and very useful to an adc. Top lane is only by far a great place for him. I like tanky tops. And it can make sense if your support is a squishy Nami or Morgana. You need someone to be tanky. And if you teaming with a Braum or Leona support and your top, with this build you will bring so much to a team fight that the enemy is either forced to focus you or they will just be flat out destroyed. Great build, I will have to tweek it a little to fit my play style but overall thumbs up.

- Haven't tried this guide yet, but Taric can really be a pain in the *** if he's played top or with the right items, runes and masteries.
With a high amount of cooldown reduction, mana and AP then your stun and heal will keep you alive for really long time in a teamfight haha.

I never really stack AP on taric, just armor and health. After I get the Warmog's Armor and the Spirit Visage, my heals will heal me for 1k hp. I may try stacking AP later on and I'll see how that goes. If it works well, I'll add it to the guide.

Seriously take Clarity out of the summoner spell list. It's almost impossible to run out of mana with your build and Clarity is a bad spell overall.

I realize that but I feel for the lower level summoners who are learning the game, they could use this as a back up mana supply until they get a feel for his play style and limitations. Bit of a handicap for those who may be too aggressive early on and burn all their mana.
