Since boots and stopwatch are now in the same path what would be the new rune setup, and also after the nerfs to spellbook is aftershock a better option?

The nerf to spellbook isnt that bad, Take Magical Footwear and Future's Market instead.

Hey guys,

As @MikeyFeint already said, the spellbook nerf isn't too bad and for now i'd still go for spellbook. Also since they changed the runes in the Inspiration Tree, i'd prefer to take Future's Market right now to Rush sheen even earlier, for more infos check the guide, it's up to date again!

What is the difference between the pictures of Route 1 Jg path and Route 2 Jg path? Is it a mistake or am I missing something?

Wouldn't you think it'd be better to max e, w, then q? I understand why maxing e first would be a good idea (doesn't scale directly off AD - offers more stats than maxing Q first), but since usually for the duration of maxing your second ability your only AD would be the bit from tri. That being said, shouldn't you max W second in order for the increased MS in order to catch up to others and whatnot? In general any order works fine for Skarner imo, I've tried Q-W-E and E-Q-W and they both work fine for me. So shouldn't you get Q-W-E for first 3 abilities, then max E-W-Q? Taking W second also makes it easier to make mid-game plays.

E first because of it's better scaling in early levels

W second because of it's gap closing potential, speed boost, etc.

Q last because of directly scaling off of AD percentage, and damage items, if bought, would be late-ish game

Also, when starting at krugs, should you smite them for the stun or save it for red buff for the HP boost?

You can try maxing E but your damage will be very low whenever you miss your E...
Q is guaranteed damage which applies the sheen proc often! Of course it scales early better, but whenever you get some items, Q will be more helpfull in my opinion.
Smiting Krugs for the stun is better than the HP boost, you will apply the stun pretty often in the jungle!

PS: Guide up to date for 6.20, nothing big changed.

Updated the guide for 6.17, nothing really changed. BUT:
I uploaded a new gameplay of Skarner!! It's again in Diamond ELO, since you guys enjoyed my last diamond elo commentary more than my gold one! This one has really good in depth commentary, i promise! It's not much (maybe ~ 15 - 20 comments) but it will explain what i did pretty well!
Let me know if you enjoy vid's like that by commenting on YT or here!

sup dude, great guide.
I've only got a chance at Skarner this week due to free rotation, and I gotta say I'm loving him except one thing.

Ganks. He sucks at them. I mean, he has no gap closer pre-6 and at 6 at most he can flash+ult.
But on to my point, since he can't chase almost at all, wouldn't Frozen Mallet be a better choice on him than say the extra randuin or the steraks?? With a single hit he can finally chase effectively instead of being laughed at while running nearly twice as fast. Skillshotting E perfectly and its cooldown don't make for a good argument I'm afraid.

Let me know, thanks!

Thanks for your question!
To be honest it's all about playstyle.
As "Browgar" already pointed out, i'd suggest to use Ghost instead of flash, since it has a lower cooldown and you ain't gonna get kited. Steraks increases your base AD dmg and your Trinity Force Sheen proc damage, i'd recommend it like 90% of the time.
I didn't try Frozen Mallet often enough to recommend it, but in my opinion it's not a better choice than a randuin's or steraks.
With Ghost, Trinity force MS and your W and your passive, you should be able to chase down everyone easily.
Make sure to check out my Youtube videos to see how i'm ganking and using skarner PRE 6 without flash! :)

Ok thanks, I've been using flash till now, didn't know you could go with ghost. I'll definitely try that, thank you!

Browgar | August 28, 2016 1:22pm
I'll just point out that the "Trinity Force" do extra dmg based on your base dmg, that means "Sterak's Gage" that give you 25% extra base dmg makes your Trinity even more powerful!
I would also recommend you to try ghost :)

Thank you for your response!!!
Scaling armor is also a great choice instead of flat armor.
If you feel like you don't need armor and you are healthy enough for your first clear, you can use scaling armor aswell, i just don't recommend it to the people who try skarner for the first time, since they might die in the jungle.

Thank you for pointing that out, fixed it!!

Updated the guide for Patch 6.16 and added a new Gameplay of
"Carrying as Skarner in ... Elo"
This time it's Diamond ELO with a little bit of explanation, of what i was doing in the game and why i did these things, make sure to check it out down below!!!

Hi, I love the guide, and the champ ofc! I want your opinion on this;wondering if it could be good to have scaling armor seals instead of flat armor

EDIT:The Creeping/jungle part of the guide should maybe be changed, because you recommend the "Refillable Potion" instead of "health Potions"

Hey!

Awesome guide.
I just want to point out that your runes and combined "core build" will give you more than 40% CDR. You get 40 from your items, wont be needing those runes if you build'em all.

Keep up the good work man.

DerCrazyEde (1) | July 23, 2016 5:06am
Hey dude, yea your right i totally forgot... I still use these runes because it could happen, that im not buying Spirit Visage and then i would be on 40 %. Later in the game you can switch out your Lucidity Boots for Ninja Tabi or Merc treads and you will still have 40 % CDR, but thanks for pointing that out!
Thank you! :)
