Hello,

Is this a guide for how to play as supprot Vladimir? I am asking you because you didn't mentioned where one should play Vladimir with this build.
No offense, but the title is very suitable for the content of the guide.

Hey yaqu,

What a great guide about Vladimir. Its so useful and now I main it and its realy helps me. But I have a question. Is it good to change Void Staff with Luden's Tempest because I like to get more movement speed on Vladimir? Anyway thank you again bro. :)

Hi jhoijhoi,

first of all thank you for taking the time to reply to this post.

It seems to me like we're approaching this from two very different angles.

You see the downside of wasting the mana component and prioritize the psychological component of "it's okay to farm badly because i get gold anyway" over the intended "i'm going to play very aggressive in order to get myself space to farm" attitude. It's supposed to make harrassing less penalizing since it sustain's you and gives you gold from minions that die while you deal damage to the enemy. The idea here is to outsustain your opponent and minimize the damage done to yourself through harrassing aggressively. Maybe this concept is too theoretical for the average Bronze player and they'll fall into the psychological trap you mentioned, this is by no means intended though.

Bandit is very arbitrary in that particular slot and is almost exclusively taken for the psychological conditioning of auto attack your opponent when you get the chance. Think of it as learning to penalize by positive affirmation.

Spellthief's edge is missing the 5/10% cooldown component and is therefore not a suitable replacement for cooldown boots which we would like to forego for damage here. (spell pen)

If we skipped nomad's medallion we would have to get another cooldown item which would slow us down a lot in terms of reaching maximum cooldown unless we take cooldown boots. In that case though we will lack damage to truly make use of the cooldown.

This guide is by no means meant to revolutionize anything. It's merely an alternative build to make a hero that can be mechanically challenging a little less hard and at the same time stable and strong mid-game even if performing slightly sub-par.

Just try it out in casual if you don't want to ruin your ranked stats for a few games and see how it goes for you. You might find it works well.

Also +11% cd at level one really shows.

That'll be all on that for now.

Thank you for showing interest I'll take the time to work on the guide a little more based on your feedback and will try to elaborate further and include Spellthief's Edge as an option if it can fit into the build somehow.

Ah, my apologies! I did read into it in the wrong mindset :) I'm a huge fan of playing Miss Fortune support and harassing with Spellthief's, so thought I'd mention the gold gen from harass is far superior to that of Coin. Frost Queen's Claim's active would also be useful on Vlad who lacks tangible CC. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'll be more careful to read the explanation in the guide next time! :)

I feel as if getting a primarily mana-regen support item top lane is setting you up for failure. It sort of allows you to feel as if it's okay to do badly with CS because you get some gold per minion death anyway. If you're focusing on the idea that Vlad can't farm early game and you're running Bandit anyway, why not go Spellthief's Edge? I think that would pay off better in terms of gold generated from harass. Just my thoughts ^^
