This is especially an issue since it's the first thing the reader sees, so at first glance your guide looks like a silly wall of text, the actual guide only starts midway through the pages (a shame because it's not bad).
So at the very least I'd say move that massive changelog to the end of your guide.
I had been trying to figure out what to do with the increasing length of the Change Log. Initially I had thought of putting it near the end as well, but had figured that it would be the most dynamic section of the guide and kept it at the top. But, while adjusting other parts of the guide, the length of this section slowly became out of hand. While I had included multiple links to specific sections of the Guide & a Skip option at the top of the Section itself, likely moving a large chunk of the section to the end at this point might be beneficial (kind of a hybrid approach). I had kept this section intact up till now for historical reasons. (such as it not being easily visible how long a guide has been around for) This section was meant to be my take on recent changes and new ideas/theorycraft, and I'm really glad some other users/viewers seem to like it (and am very appreciative & grateful of such support), so I definitely don't intend on completely getting rid of it. (I will likely also decouple the theorycrafts from it after moving the section)
Thank you very much for taking the time out to write this comment/read the guide!
Cant wait to see what your thoughts are on their test changes in 9.7. Personally I think the new boots are a bit gimmicky but can be quite fun when used well and the aram style guardian angel seems really strong on adc's and makes tryndamere an unstoppable force. The nerfs and buffs are understandable to make games more even and some slight tweaks to the winrate outliers might make playing lots aram feel a bit more consistent.
The bans are out of place in aram and arent really in the spirit of the game mode, even if its nice to know ill never have to face the really broken champs again, its fun playing them and can be rewarding beating them. I like having the most variety in the game mode as possible and thats the reason I play it. I dont like the game time speed up changes either, my favourite aram games are the close, drawn out, full build, 25+ minute games. Currently it seems like one team fight ends the whole thing after 20 minutes.
Anyway just sharing my thoughts cause noone cares about aram as much as I do haha. Thanks for your dedication to this amazing guide!
It sounds like we are thinking the same thing about a lot of the points you made. (especially the beating strong comps part!) Honestly...if they were to make one adjustment to the Ghostwalker boots, I would hope that if Predator were run with Ghostwalkers, then Predator and Ghostwalkers would activate at the same time, instead of Predator not interacting with it at all. Ghostwalkers would DEFINITELY have their place on ARAM if that happened...maybe not so much in a balanced way though. (but maybe that's just me loving the chaos too much haha...a Devastating Charge + Youmuu's + Predator + Ghostwalkers + Ghost + Shurelya's-d Hecarim coming out of a wall sounds pretty crazy to say the least)
Also, agree that Mariner's Vengeance will likely be good on Tryndamere, ADCs and hyper carries, but if mages that get ahead start buying this item...then this thing should definitely be looked at. Vel'koz, Cass, Ryze, Kennen, or Karthus ignoring enemy towers sounds like a nightmare...likely shouldn't happen based on the stats the item gives, but if it does happen...oh boy. (really hope to have CC on my team now, since burst isn't an option against this item)
Thanks again for the kind words!
I tried to play ARAM just to get to know the champs better, but deep inside I really felt frustrated. I felt I couldn't do anything, just go to the map and die/feed the enemy. But thanks to your guide I feel I understand more how I should and could play better in ARAM. Thanks for all the help this guide gave me!^^
It would be pretty disingenuous if I didn't give a couple minutes to sit down & think up a response (especially after you spent days reading the guide...maybe I made it TOO lengthy haha). Honestly, when I initially played ARAM, I did it to get to know the champs better as well, since I was one of the last in my friends group to pick up the game. But, there were a couple of "Why?" moments that made me look at the game and the game mode differently. One tip I specifically included, the "stand above the health relic area" tip was because it happened once to me in game and I didn't really understand why he/she did that until I thought about it a bit more. (and some painful getting Mark/Dash on while sitting in the bush to get the team vision) Some other things I picked up were understanding "what items do," rather than just hearing from someone "this item does well with this champion" and breaking apart "ability combos" into actual abilities, like breaking Jayce's Shock Blast + Acceleration Gate into Shock Blast AND Acceleration Gate to get a sped up engage at the same time as poke, or getting an ally out with the Acceleration Gate speed up.
But anyway, don't want to make an extremely lengthy response after you already took the time out to read through the entire guide. Glad to know you took something out of the guide, thanks for sharing your experiences/feelings and hope you find success in your future games!
It took me some days to read you guide because I just realised there are so many new information I need more time to fully understand and somehow manage them in my head. So I red smaller sections several times and tried to capture the very essense of them. After I thought I understand the basics, I just tried to see all the smaller details.
But as I wrote, it was totally worth it, I am more sure-footed and calm while playing ARAM than ever before. I hope to find more great guides like yours in other various aspect of LoL I don't really understand yet. :D
If you end up having any questions later, feel free to come back and ask. I'll try my best to answer. GLHF!
I'm kinda sad that no one has commented your super awesome guide yet.
I mean you took so much effort and such huge amounts of your free time to create this guide, you really deserve positive feedback! It's awesome.
It's so in depth than I did not even bother at all looking for possible things you might have forgotten. It's perfect the way it is, nothing to add.
Keep up your good work and thank you for sharing all the cumulated knowledge.
