i like guinsoo's, because it gives great things for its low cost. ad, that gives u more spellvamp with ur passive, a lot of ap, the ability to take turrets faster, and the attack speed helps u proc the Q mark faster( this is very helpful in a chase). if u dont like it, u can just skip it. i also skip it sometimes, depends on the game.

actually u shouldnt have any problems last hitting. q is a great tool for last hitting. u dont need to proc it if u cant get close, just shot it when the minion hp is low. harrasing in the early game, u do using ur shroud. u throw Q, then shroud. if they step b, then great, u zone them. if they dont go b, proc the Q, and then if u can use another q- autoattack, and b to the shroud. now, actully a lot of time i get the hextech first. it all depends on who u are laning with/aginst. if i solo, or get harrased, get hextech and ull heal in no time. if u are doing good, get the sheen. in the lane, i most of the time dont need to tower hug. if u solo, just last hit using q. if u dont solo, choose the right champ to go with you. my favorite is blitz^^. if u feel you tower hug a lot, go with someone who has strong lane resence, like a tank or a tough dps.

Good guide. But I have questions.

Why do you and some other Akalis prefer Guinsoo's Rageblade? What's the argument here for and against getting it?

Honestly, I don't see much of an advantage with it. Seems like it slows the development of your AP--Why not use the money to work toward Lich Bane?

Point #2: I get harassed a lot as Akali because of being a squishy and most other champs have better harass attacks (so it's even hard for me to get last hits). My question is, why get the Sheen so early? Isn't it better to have boots of speed first for survivability and last-hits? Plus, I like to keep recipe items, a sheen becomes Lich Bane soon, so I like to keep them close together. You are saying that the sheen will help me harass? How? Akali can only harass if she can get close enough to do one auto-attack, otherwise it seems the mark of assassin is very weak without getting close.

Almost like as if, kind of like Tryndamere, in almost all Akali games, I have to stay back and tower hug, maybe do a bit of shroud+lasthits + a bunch of pointless Q attacks, which the enemy can easily regen from.
