I have a few questions in terms of itemization, if you'd be able to help me.
So firstly, I've noticed that Reverie has made it into most of your recommended Taric builds, how early should I be building this item and against what champions or with what synergies does it shine most?
Also in what circumstances do you prioritize taking the healing build path with Reverie, Redemption and Ardent?
I think the thing I've struggled with most is build order and item prioritization. =] So any additional tips about any other items or itemization for taric in general would be helpful! Thanks in advance! And thank you again for your excellent guide.
Besides that, I can tell you how I usually prioritize my items. My first pickup is most often Knight's Vow, especially if I know my ADC is the main target of my enemies and I'm the main one who can protect/peel for them (i.e. if I see someone like Rengar, I rush this no question).
Other times, I rush Zeke's Convergence if Vow isn't necessary and I want to see my ADC pop off. Specific situations it's good for include (1) when you're with an ADC you have good synergy with, (2) you're in a good matchup, (3) you're ahead in general, or (4) your ADC specializes in attacking fast or has AOE attacks to spread the burn (i.e. Twitch, anyone who'll build Runaan's, etc.).
Shurelya's Battlesong is what I get first mainly if I'll be going for a healing build, as I mentioned earlier. It can also just be bought first regardless of that, for the sake of being ahead and/or wanting stronger engages. It's a solid item on its own and doesn't need to be complemented by other healing items; you can build anything else that you want after it.
A couple other items are important to keep in mind when thinking about build paths: Locket of the Iron Solari and Redemption. In games where I'll be needing AOE damage protection, my best bet is Locket, which I either build after Knight's Vow (having the extra health first will increase the shield's size) or I just rush it upfront.
I may rush an early Redemption instead, following the same mindset--does the enemy team have a lot of AOE damage? In this case, Redemption is my answer to that when I'm going specifically for a healing build.
Sometimes it's good to get both of those early. As an example, if I see a teamfight comp like Katarina + Wukong + Miss Fortune on the other team, that's my cue to pick them both up.
