Take a little more time in your build, a lot of incorrect values here and you have the wrong idea of some of his skills...His E increases armor as well.

I main Malphite almost all the time, he's one of my favorite Tanks to play aside from Singed.

I agree with many parts of you're guide, as well as disagree with some as well.

First off, Rushing a Wormog's, Force Of Nature, or Guardian are always great steps to take as first itemization goes for Malphite, this is also something that I like to call an intimidation factor during the first 15-20 mins of the game, if you are capable of gaining one of those items in that time frame than I would confidently say you are farming well as well as playing smart.

Note, regardless of any Tank-Like champion you play, or almost any champion for that reason, a Guardian Angel will almost always make you far more intimidating to mess with early game, this is also being supported as my opinion, not a fact, but a strong opinion of mine.

Since Malphite's passive gives him a shield that takes 10% incoming damage, it's a huge factor you need to pay attention to while choosing items, not only for situational use, but for this strong passive as well, it is very helpful when someone initially tries to gank you. Therefore, sometimes it's not a bad idea to go Wormog's - > Spirit Visage -> Randuin's Omen. It's great HP regen as well as a nice stack of HP all together.

Lastly, as you said builds posted are not by any means the "correct" way to build a champion, however are strong suggestions that have proved affective.

I would serious consider a Randuin's Omen in there, it's such a great Unique Active item for chasing and initiating fights, and has many times allowed me to escape from a gank.

Oh, again one last thing, I'd re-think you're summoner skills, typically Fortify isn't commonly seen unless you're playing Ranked games, not that it can't and isn't a game saver at times, but it's just something to think about. I enjoy running with Clarity+Cleanse, Clarity is normally frowned upon I've seen, but with Malphite being hugely capable of harassing early game, I enjoy having it as a mental reassurance that I can pop it when I need it, lastly Cleanse works, always will work, great for a tank. There are so many different sets of spells to run depending on how confident, aggressive or team oriented you're play style is. All thoughts I've posted are strictly opinions.

Also, Quick Silver Sash is hugely helpful depending on what team make up you're against, it can remove some many things that can normally screw you over, removing debuffs from you're champion as well as giving you some Magic Resist for cheap.

Over all you're build is not terrible by any means, if anything I would really just re-think you're item selection and consider running with an Randuin's Omen, as well as keeping you're mind open to what item(s) you rush first.
