You should not need to use clarity... If your have mana regen yellows you should be fine, but if u also have mana regen blues then thats a bit of overkill. Even though u will be spamming Sona's spells, you will still have enough mana regen to be alright. You HAVE to keep flash or atleast ghost because as support you will get focused first. You NEED a way to get out of the heat of the battle, or else you will die and not be of any use. Ya i guess with clairvoyance you wont have to worry about a gank in the lane, but you have to remember that it wont be up all the time. Also you will want flash later in game where as clarity will be of no use.

I like your build, but i would suggest that u use ability power per lvl blues instead of mana regen blues... the reason for this is because even though she doesn't have great scaling, she still does need some ap. The more AP the more she can do.

no no no lol I perfectly understand what you've been saying I was just saying IN MY opinion I find AP to be better but that's because I prefer the extra healing and damage from her spells and I don't really care about her auto attacks until I have powerchord. The reason why is because I don't use Hymn + Powerchord often usually I prefer either the Slow for chasing / escaping or the reduced damage so that really bursty characters (Kat using death lotus)get shut down since they're doing a little over 1/2 of what they wanted to. Continuing on the Kat metaphor look at it this way Big teamfight pops up Kat runs into the middle of the fight, she as we all know is very squishy, but she needs to get into the middle for her Death Lotus to do as much damage as possible. Sona (me) see's she's taking an odd position and in response attacks her with powerchord up as she is starting to death lotus boom there goes 1/2 her damage and since the team is under Perseverance they get extra armor and MR taking even less damage. When I have powerchord up I just keep moving so Sona doesn't auto attack something and I wait until either I see a situation that one of my powerchords could fix or I use it under Hymn on a minion or something just to do some extra damage and build it back up for the next time. Also for the way you're playing have you tried Lichbane yet? it's really good. GL HF and NEVER let someone tell you how a champion should be played they can suggest items or changes but don't let them tell you "you can't play this way because none of the guides recommend it, or none of the pros use this build." in the end it's all about how you want to play your GAME. ^.^

how should i put this, sona has an ICD of 2sec... shen has 2sec cd... evry 6 secs y cast power chord with valor aura your next attack deals extra 14 + (9 x level) magic damage that means that is extra it add up to your regular AD as magic dmg you will hit Power chord bonus + your regular AD dmg + sheen ...
i thinks its prety self explanatory, xD i would like for you to play a game with me so i could explain beter XD
Still i think your guide is good for support.
I just hate to be there ... doing... stuff and not killing XD

I understand but your power chord argument has not merit since power chord doesn't scale with AP or AD so I don't get your point with that one but Hymn then power cord would deal more damage with AD but you're sacrificing AP which is also useful for your heal and ulti so I don't find stacking AD worth it since if you just went AP you'd get more damage out of Hymn and Ulti better heals and lose some attack damage. BUT I'm not going to judge you or anyone else because we all have our play styles and without that each game would be the same 3 or 5 champions and thus I would not play this game because it would get boring quick.

what you don't build AP on Sona??? but her Hymn of Valor scales soo well with it 75% to be exact so every 100ap it deals an extra 75 damage thus with this build having 600 or so ap (it says 450 in the guide but it doesn't take into account rabadons passive) you deal and extra 450 damage meaning your valor hits 2 people for 700 damage.

i think you are faling to see the usefullness of sona passive.
But i will explain it in the guide that i will create.
Just think:
Power chord:
After casting 3 spells, Sona's next attack deals extra 14 + (9 x level) magic damage.
Additionally, Sona's auras persist for 2 seconds after deactivating and set off a 2 second global cooldown. Power Chord has an additional effect depending on which spell was cast last.
14+(9x18) = 176 dmg if y have hymn of valor : If this spell was last cast when Sona's Power Chord is ready, her next attack will do double the damage of her Power Chord.
that is 176*2= 352 dmg
now in my build i usualy have arrund 300 AD and a trinity force...
if you hit Valor with power chord and your base atak dmg is arrund 250 + trinity force...
ill let you find the numbers for yourself :)
all i can say is that with the right items y can make dmg... LOTS of em...
im making a guide if you want i can send you a basic item set up and how to play AD sona so you can taste the dark side of the maven of strings XD
cheers,
AzarielTear

well i run an assassin sona, and i heal for 250 to 300 with almost no ap.
so i dont see the use of the build itself, it sure can help but you could do mutch beter.
theres is a nice guide on Killer sona by MrHetes check it out and try a few runs although the guide isn´t perfect it gives you a general idea of what to expect.
form my experience the most important part for heals are laning and mid game, after that you are just there for the gank, cuz y dmg isn't that good and your support is nice but there is beter.
im probably make a guide anytime sone with my assasin sona tower braking OP XD(well sometimes.
Still gratz for the guide i can see the use of it for support but i dont see sona that way XD +1 (we disagree on sona but i think its a nice guide for new sona players )
Cheers,
AarielTear
