I'm a happy jungler and ganker at level 6. And since I have my mates playing with me most of the time, I go full tank and the core item is Legion/Sunfire then everything else is situational. I'm pretty contented getting 25-30 assist per game and netting like 5-8 kills. A tank is supposed to die and take it all 90% of the time so that's my tanking logic anyway.
The first time I jungled was F'd up though as I went against a WW jungler as he took my blue early since I didn't start there. Lesson learned there. Protect the blue if there is a WW jungler. :D
Thanks for the jungling tips.
I haven't tried jungling Amumu but do you think it's better to start at the golemns near bot?
The reason for this is that many players will try to kill you if you take the blue. Since, they will anticipate that you will take it as early as possible. So with this, what is the alternative jungling route?
I also agree with the item build. Sunfire is a must for Amumu as Sunfire + Despair is very lethal. I usually get Doran's Shield for laning survivabiliy then rush either Sunfire or Legion whichever I can get first. Then I decide if I will get FoN or Warmogs then the rest are toss up among the tanky items. I usually do a full tank myself rather than doing AP tank as I don't mind getting 30 assists per game. :)
Also to add to this guide, if you're not good at using skillshot then Amumu is not the character for you. It's pretty hard to master but once you do it will be fun especially when heroes think they already escaped just for you to bandage toss them from the other side of the wall. :)
Well, if you are going to jungle most of the times your team will scout and protect you before you get your blue, even in solo queues. BUT...if thats not the case try starting as you said from the other golems instead of getting the blue, its the same as you will be level 2 however, without the blule buff. I understand what you are saying about not going AP amumu and it is true amumu works better just by taking all the damage for your team and those assists are just to good to be true. :)
And I acknowledge your critic, amumu is a skill champ as you need to be good at skill shots for your bandage and be in position for your ulti.
Anyways, your alternative jungle route should be like this:
Golems (not blue) > Wraiths > Wolves > Blue golem > Red buff and repeat or gank if needed or go clear the enemys jungle, or you can start from anywhere you want however starting from blue is the best way, and always remember to ask for protection and a leash for that matter. If you have any more questions i'll be happy to help you. :)

elisia(or what ever its name is miracle)+swiftness+omens+frozen heart/fon+banshee or ga when i play amunu i only get as far as fon very rarely do i get to banshee or ga stage :|
True, late game you don't really need the blue buff, but the CDR never hurts. For the boots decision, I explained it depending on the others team composition, get mercs for more than 3 CC on the other team and if that's not the case get swiftness most of the time. About the tenacity items, I haven't really tried them so I couldn't say much about them but as you said they might be helpful instead of getting mercs, getting swiftness plus some tenacity items. My items composition is more about what I get most of the times, too many AP carries these days, but hopefully people understand what I explained on the items section, for the different items you should be getting for heavy AP team and heavy AD team. I might try those tenacity items soon or later any more suggestions would be appreaciated

Well, it all depends on the gameplay style of every player isn't it? This is just the way I play it depending on the situation. I didn't say you MUST get FoN after the core items I just say you'll get FoN most of the times as your next item, and instead if they got a lot of AD/AS champs just go for thornmail or frozen heart instead of getting FoN
