ty for that, but I never said this was the best. This is how I play him. I dont build to conform to the normal.

Masteries: I take these to get more out of his caster power. Early game, he is one of the more dangerous mages. Late game, when he has the HP and power house AP items, he needs the durability. However, I play him as an early game caster, not a late game CC engaging caster.

Runes: Again, I play him more of a caster so it makes sense to have them. Since TS has good scaling, being able to put more power behind it is always a good thing early on. And when checking bushes, having more power in TS is great.

Also the AP scaling of Rush is good, like you mentioned. And for that reason, AP runes will give it more power while he is still in lane and hasnt bought anything.

Skill: I stand by what I said. I prefer not to scale Surge since I such low AD early game. I use Surge as a farming tool, and to land the stun from the marks. I like to lead with Rush since it scares most people off of minions, plus it deals great dmg and makes farming easier for me. Why last hit, when Rush deals great dmg, and Surge cleans up for me?

Now I do admit that the passive is great for landing marks, but that means I have to count my marks and save them for the champs. That can cost me minion kills, and I would rather use the charge for farming if Im landed against someone that is standing in the back.

The reason I dont take Deathcap is simply this: It doesnt appeal to me. I mean, yes makes him hit harder all around, but it simply does not appeal to my playstyle. Not with Kennen anyway.

Lich Bane would be a great item, but I find it more of a luxury item. With this build, I can give my team more power with Starks, Will, and Abyssal (abyssal gives the MR debuff for my caster mates). This build doesnt only do for me, it does for my mates.

As for spells, Im one that tries to improve on traits of a champ. For Kennen its Moblity and CC. Teleport can put him anywhere on the map, and Exhaust makes sure that the one you want dead gets dead. Again, I didnt build this for me. I built it for my mates.

Before you try to belittle what I say by doing what you do to others who down voted you hear me out.

While your build is nice, it as other have said does NOT bring out the best that Ken can do.

1) Masteries: What can i say? while having Utility is NICE, Defense makes Kennen no longer a "glass champ"
2) Your runes are somewhat of the normal "AP champ" but if you add thinks such as Armor AND Heath his survivability goes up. As you said Magic Res helps, but imo Armor prevents him being hit and killed "early game"
3)Skill order: When i started out way back in October or later (I do not remember) I picked Ken when he was first free, I saw LR as a GOOD MOVE to do dmg ect and get out so I, like you lvled it up before Surge.
This was a MISTAKE, leveling up TS and ES about equal (I level TS one more than Surge) it does far more damage. You mentioned that you level ES because he has a low attack early game. So? just because ES' passive does % AD damage does not mean you should not get it because of that. Rushing in with LR then using Surge does MORE damage over all.
now do not say "but LR does more damage and it has a better AP ratio"
The point of using ES is not just after you use LR, I tend to use Surge's passive, then either use surge and then hit them with TS or vice versa.
There is a REASON behind this, and that is.
Lightning Rush can be used as an escape, but if you use it to rush in EVEN if you rush out, you can end up hurting yourself over all.
Finally, the only last few things i saw wrong with this is the items,

While Spell vamp is nice, very nice, not having Deathcap or lich bane (yes lich bane) is kinda :/
Kennen is very unique where he can be build with hp and still have a lot of AP end game.
Remember this, Kennen's ult, when maxed deals a mark per .33 SECONDS. along with using your other abilities you can easily stop other champs in their tracks, using your TS and then surge when people are trying to hide deals a lot of damage late game.

Now what you did right,
Pretty much everything else (although i personally prefer flash and ghost to get away or do late bit of chasing/kill) and i used to use exhaust instead of ghost to get kills when i went mid
I ALWAYS throw my TS early into the bushes to see if anyone is there, and there are MANY idiots who just stand there and take 2-3 of them.

The items alone make this build seem like, and act like a good build for casters, however it isn't the best.

Duff, like in my noc guide, Ill have to find you and show you. And Its not Life Steal that is focus. The Spell Vamp is key too. What you dont see is that there is a balance of AD and AP power. With burst AP, you get burst healing. And I dont have to poke to heal with my autos. I can just farm minions. And farming minions is a great form of harassment.

I kill their minions, they have to be able to fight the turret for last hits. And that is a challenge all its own. You dont have to like it, but know that it works lol

The build is average, and yes it fulfills the function of life stealing.

So in that regard, I give my thumbs up.

But, the damage is lacking in both your auto attack and your skills... (Unless you're playing against people who build no resistances at all)

You're relying on life steal for survivability, which is something that's very risky.

Because of this you're going to find yourself having to sit farther in the back poking for life steal when you get hit, instead of poking to hurt the opponents with your massive AP, so that they have to fall back.

I understand your summoners are explained, but I disagree with them and I'm not a fan =P

Nothin' personal, this guide is not for me =P

This is an excellent build. Provided you play it safe until you go back for the first items, once you get your hextech revolver you can pretty much stay in the lane up until you get out of laning phase. First few times I used this build I did really well with it, as opposed to the "Kennen Hiiiiyaah!" build which has me get way too expensive items to start off with...

Overall good build! +1
