I think another nice trick would be to leave your ball outside of the barons little pool on the high ground when doing him.
This will give you vision and prevent your baron from being stolen as well as it gives you the chance to pull enemys who stand at the high ground down to the middle of your team.
Very good build. I build her quite similar.
I do not understand the banshees veil as you have quite a good amount of hp with Roa and Rylais and I not like the passive of it because it will in most cases just soak up one aoe skill.

2 good items you left out however are Quicksilver Sash and Lich Bane as optionals, maybe an good idea to add those to the list.

Yeah, quicksilver is a nice item but it's situational i guess, and since this guide is for those ready to play ranked i'm assuming they'll know when to buy quicksilver.
As for lichbane, i don't really find time during team fights in between all the positioning, shielding attacking to sit there and basic. Especially since when i do get in range for a basic, it usually means getting focused.
But since it really is a good guide i will just do so ^_^.

Me Gusta. period... very well written, and a very well put build. tried it... won for first time, got a double kill on a shaco and an akali on my own(or 2v1 i guess). plus 1 from me :)

Apparently somehow it was taken off? When i went back to edit it, it was already clicked. And gratz on the win!
Your guide is awesome but your builds are not. Take off rode of ages and build morello's Tome first. It gives you the mp5, cdr, and ap you need early on. You can replace the cd boots with mpen boots and build rabadons second (after boots). It works so much better
Yeah, morello's isn't a bad item but it doesn't give the HP not the survivability that a catalyst will give you early game. Building morello's over an RoA or catalyst doesn't appeal to me, especially since i end up usually 2v1'ing a lane while push super hard and having that extra health helps a bunch when unexpected things happen.
But to each his own, this is just how i build orianna :D, if you find morello's to be more useful that's your build.
