Added more things to the guide. I really hope people actually use this guide, or something similar. I'd love to see more supports out there doing great and helping out their teams. It kinda bores me when I see a team full of carries with no supports :(.

Forgot to put Oracle's in the guide. Oracle's is a must if you have a jungler on your team and the enemies in your lane are warding river up.

Thank you guys. I'll try to keep this up to date if they make any direct/in-direct changes to this build.

I am a very avid Soraka player, and this is one of the best builds I have found for playing her. It almost perfectly mimics the item-order I've been doing, and there is not much of a logical debate for what order to take skills in. The only difference in skill order is that I tend to get my heal to 5 while leaving Infuse at 3, then bring Infuse up. I don't notice the loss of mana as much as I notice the increased heal. Overall, Soraka is a fantastic support and this is a great build for her. I really like how you emphasize wards. A support should NEVER leave spawn with more than 60 gold, you can wait out the 15g if you are that close to another ward. Map awareness is invaluable, even more so due to Wish.

Very nice guide!

Good questions.

Quoted:
Why do you get HoG and not a Phil. Stone for first gp10 item. You find that you already have enough regen. for that point in the game?

For the HP. Soraka will have roughly about 1.3k hp after getting a HoG. You don't really need regen from Philo. Stone because you will only be healing your carry and sitting at turret replenishing yourself with your skills. Plus by the time you get HoG, you will have enough mana to stay in lane forever, granted you didn't take any CS from your carry. I find the 250 HP from a HoG more useful than HP/MP regen. You shouldn't have mana problems with a Doran's ring and flat Mana regen seals.

Quoted:
In your item description you make it sound like you get your tier 2 boots b4 your deathcap but in the item build at the top you get your tier 2 boots much later, which is the time you get the boots?

You get the boots depending on the situation. If you don't really need tier 2 boots, go for the AP from Deathcap.

Quoted:
You suggest in item build that get mercury treads if the other team has lots of CC and your being focused, you also suggest to hold off on buying Shurelya's in certain situations as well, in theres circumstances do you still find you have enough CDR because if you opt for Mercury's and delay your Shurelya's your heal will be roughly 10 secs.

Well as support you want to hold on to your GP10 items as long as possible because that is the main source of your income. Yes, sometimes you may need the CDR from Shurelya's but it is not very necessary because with masteries you get 9% CDR to start off with which is just fine. If you are really finding the lack in CDR, buy a Kindle Gem and then branch off to a Shurelya's.

Quoted:
You recommend silencing AP carrys in team fights, do you think its worth the risk to travel to the front lines where you can be targeted and focused just to get a silence off on a annie behind all the AD carries and tanks?

Naturally as the fight unfolds, the AP carry has to get in range to cast spells. At that time, you should cast your silence and immediately run behind your team and support them. It doesn't have much of a cast time and the animation is pretty quick so you should be able to retreat right after.

Quoted:
You state to always keep the river Wared from mid and jungle ganks. With this in mind would it be better to start off with Boots, sight ward or even a Faerie charm with a heal, mana pot and sight ward?

I find Doran's ring a much better item to start off with because of the stat's it gives. Soraka has poor base HP and Doran's ring helps a lot. The mana regen and ap just makes the item even better. I tried starting off with a Faerie Charm, 2 Wards, and 3 potions but I find that it just makes Soraka that much easier to kill because you will only have around 450 HP to start.

You shouldn't be very worried that early into the game for ganks anyways. Most ganks occur at top or middle where there are solo lanes.

I will update this guide soon. Keep up the good questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

Not trying to pick apart your build, just trying to understand it better.
